New season, same old competition!!
Guesses to be made for every NTFC competitive game this season, League/Carling Cup/FA Cup/JPT/Playoffs!

SCORING

25 points for a spot-on guess
15 points for 1-9 away
10 points for 10-24 away
7 points for 25-49 away
5 points for 50-99 away
3 points for 100-199 away
2 points for 200-299 away
1 point for 300-399 away
0 points for 400 or more away

There will be NO doubling of points for away games this season......however there WILL be doubling of all points scored for predictions of Cup (CC/FA/JPT) Fixtures for this season whether home or away!

The Official Attendance figure will be taken from the Official NTFC Website.

a FIVE POINT BONUS will be awarded to the winner of every individual fixture, in the event of two or more guessers being equal amounts away from the official figure, the one who guessed UNDER will be awarded the bonus and in the event of two or more people winning with the same guess then the bonus will be awarded to each.

Guesses must be made at least 30 MINUTES BEFORE KICKOFF of any given game!!

An incredible 39 guessers for week one of the GTA tournament.....thats more this week than the whole of last season!! Welcome to you all, old and new!
Accrington Stanley visited Sixfields for the first match, and a crowd of 4621 saw the vastly changed Cobblers grind out a 0-0 draw!
Only 8 of the 39 guessers failed to score, being more than 400 away, three players picked up seven points apiece, with cox23jam just 23 away with his guess of 4644......but that was only good enough for second place behind this games winner philntfc whose guess of 4639 was closest.
Well done Phil, leader of the fledgling table at the end of this week!

34 guessers for the Ipswich Carling Cup tie, a gate of 9401 turned out....higher than expected by so many of our guessers!
In the end only ONE person managed to get within 400 of that gate and therefore earn the double points on offer, so for the second game running its well done to philntfc whose guess of 9057 was closest. Two points and the bonus for you!

Match 3 saw The Cobblers make the trip to The Shots and they came away with three welcome points. The gate was just 2790, a figure lower than anticipated, certainly by 27 of our 29 guessers for this one!
Nearly everyone got on the scoresheet though, with good guesses made by BSCobbler (66 away) and Fred_NTFC (55 away) but they were all eclipsed by our reigning champion The Hask who returned to form with a guess of 2798, only 8 away.
15 points and the bonus for Martin sees him climb to the top of the table as the previous leader philntfc failed to guess.

Matchday 4 saw the Cobblers fall to defeat against the Rovers of Bristol. Thirty guessers for this one, but such was the wide variation of guesses we only had 8 scorers in this game. Three people (BSCobbler, Mackemcobbler and oldbloke) all came within 100 earning five points each, but the winner this game was claretparrot who made a great guess of 5824 and was only 12 away from the official gate of 5812.
Phil was back but failed to score, as did The Hask, so its close at the top between the three game winners so far.

Game 5 saw a home clash with Cheltenham Town....the gate was a very disappointing 4114, a number below any of our 29 guessers! In fact only 8 of us got within 400 of that gate, Bigcitylights was second yet was still 203 away! The winner though was Cox23jam whose guess of 4164 was closest. 5 points and the bonus for Cox!
A point here and there sees little change in the overall table, but Claretparrot joins The Hask in joint top place!

The Wolves came to town and went away licking thier lips after recording a comfortable win in this Carling Cup tie. The crowd of 5512 was within the range of most of our 29 guessers for this game.
We had four guessers who picked up 10 points each, one with 14 and three who grabbed 20 points apiece thanks to the double points Cup rule!
so well done to Fred_NTFC (23 away), Claret Lady 11 away, and winner SalsaLocust whose guess of 5502 was just 10 away!

Twenty-eight guessers for the home game with the Shrimps of Morecambe. A larger than average contingent of travelling crustaceans pushed the gate above the 4000 mark....just! Official attendance for this game was given as 4016, with all but two of our number earning points as a result.
Good guesses made by me! (17 away), New Dawn Fades (13 away) giving us both 10 points, but we were put into the shade by Fred_NTFC who plumped for 4013, just 3 away and earns 15 points plus the bonus.
Not surprisingly Fred jumps to the top of the table, previous leader claretparrot slips to thrid behind a locust!

The Cobblers made their bow in the JPT and promptly bowed out 90 minutes later! A good travelling number from Yorkshire ensured that the gate didnt slip to the lowest ever Sixfields crowd.....just the second lowest ever of 1776 turned out to witness this game.
We had 24 guessers, a wild range of guesses meant that only fifteen managed to score points...double points at that, and two top guesses weew made by myself (1797 for 21 away) and winner sxcobbler whose guess of 1796 was closest, being 20 away. Twenty points and the bonus boosts SX up the table, with the same 20 doing me no harm either!! I jump from equal 17th to 4th, SX is up from joint 22nd to 5th, but Fred clings on at the top despite a decent guess from salsalocust.

Twenty-five guessers for this one, the majority going too high to score points. The gate was given as just 4805, and we had only 8 guessers within 400 of that figure. Just one stand-out guess......made by myself! 4823 was only 18 away and gives me 10 points and the bonus.

Twenty-six guessers for this one, a home game against Torquay and the gate just struggled above the 4000 mark, with 4036 in attendance. All but one of our guessers were over this figure...some optimistically so!
Three people scored 5 points each (Mackem, New Dawn and Tyro), but two get 7 apiece.....Wrigleys came in with a guess of 4085 which was 49 away, but he was just pipped to the win by Fred_NTFC whose guess of 4084 was one closer!
Fred takes over at the top of the table and has a handy 8 point lead.

Only 22 guessers for this one, a number of our regulars were missing.....apologies if I posted the thread too late! 
A crowd of 4271 were in attendance to see a rare Cobblers victory. We had two stand-out guessers..... Claret Lady was just 21 away with a guess of 4250, but it was GrangeParkCobbler who took the honours with a guess of 4266...just 5 away. 15 points and the bonus for me!!
GPC goes back to the top of the table, Fred one of those who was absent this week slips down to second. Big movers this week are Claret Lady, up from 10th to 6th and Wrigleys who climbs from 19th to 13th.

The gate was announced as 2033, higher than most of our guessers had gone for, good guesses made by Deepcut Cobbler (31 away), and Doc Feelgood (29) but the winner this time was New Dawn Fades whose guess of 2009 was closest being 24 away.
10 points and the bonus for New Dawn and a rise up to 7th in the table.

Twenty eight guessers as the Cobblers took on Dagenham at home, all but one scored points....I was that one!!!
The gate was a healthy 4274, mjost guessers were under though, but closest to the mark was Claret Lady whose guess of 4250 camw in just 24 away.
So its 10 points for CL, and a first win of the season although she has scored fairly consistently throughout. She moves up to 4th and closes the gap on the top three.

Twenty-eight guessers for the Barnet game, a wider than usual spread of guesses meant that 8 players failed to score this time.
The gate was announced as 2304 backed up by a large travelling contingent from The Town.
Two standout guesses were made, by myself going for 2326 which was 22 away, but I was pipped to the post by bigcitylights whose guess of 2322 came in just 18 over the target.
GPC opens up a 15 point lead at the top, bigcitylights climbs 10 places to 12th after his win.

A difficult one to guess, that was the trip to Bradford where a crowd of 9925 turned out to watch the fayre on offer, with 16 of our 23 guessers scoring this game.
No fewer than 5 guessers scored 5 points apiece for being between 50 and 100 away, but the winner this time around was Wrigleys who went slightly better, being 45 away with a guess of 9970. 7 points and the bonus then for Wrigleys. A Saturday crowd of 4182 turned out at Sixfields to see Rotherham come to town. A better guessing game for most of our 22 guessers.
Mackem Cobbler was close with a guess of 4159 (23 away for 10 pts) but the winner with a great guess of 4174 was Wrigleys and he earns 15 points for being just 8 away.
Wrigleys moves from joint 11th to 2nd overall, a few guessers seem to have lost heart and have given up.....Fred_NTFC worked hard to get to second yet hasn't guessed for a few weeks.
