All our guessers guessed too high in this game as a crowd of 4704 turned out at Priestfield to see the Gills beat the Cobblers late on. We had 22 guessers, all of whom guessed above, with 12 of those more than 400 away so they go pointless this week.
Those that did score though, Coboz was second with a guess of 4800 (96 away) but its reigning Champ The Hask who had the standout guess this week with his 4711 being just 7 over the actual gate. Well done to him picking up 15 points and the bonus....
Its still me in front but theres a big scrap for second place now.....

There was no magic of the cup on or off the field as the cobblers crumbled to defeat at Luton, a match which ultimately signalled the end of Gary Johnsons tenure at the top table.
We had 24 guessers for this one, however 20 of them failed to score as they went too high (far to high in some cases) as a crowd of just 4799 came out at Kenilworth Road.....we had one guess of over 8000 and a few others over 7000!!!
As it turned out only 4 scored the double points on offer this game, our last cup game of the season, and it was GrangeParkCobbler who guessed closest, my 4663 was "only" 136 away! So its 6 points and the bonus to me, along with an extended lead at the top! Claret Lady, a points scorer this game goes second overall.....

Match 22, home against Shrewsbury, "Leegate", a 2-7 defeat and tamed by the Shrews!! 24 guessers but only 8 managed to score points!! Most guessers went too low as the gate turned out to be a healthy 5039.
Two guessers managed to score 5 points a piece with Claret Lady being 89 away with a guess of 4950, but the closest guesser was the only person who actually guessed above.....so its oop_north who picks up his first win of the season, a guess of 5099 coming in 60 away!

Twenty-three guessers for the match at Plymouth, different game, different manager, same result!! The team of Flowers fell to defeat in front of 5762 fans.....17 of our number managed to score points this game, six 5 point guessers and three gained 7 points....Tuks was 29 away but he was pipped to the bonus by NewDawnFades who scored a second win of the season guessing 5787 and being just 25 away...
Another blank week for me, Claret Lady closes the gap a little more at the top, but theres a bit of bunching going on behind with only twop pints separating six players....

Only twenty-one guessers for this game, the first under the new regime of Boothroyd and King. A crowd of 4579 turned out at Sixfields to witness an improved performance. Of our 21 we had 13 point scoring guesses, and two ten-pointers...Dave guessed 4600 and was only 21 away but it was GrangeParkCobbler who was closest for the fourth time this season, a guess of 4569 was only 10 short.
So a return to form for GPC sees him open the lead at the top once more...

The local derby with Oxford pulled in 7517 fans to the Kassam, and we had twenty guessers for this game with 14 of them scoring points. BigCityLights was second with a guess of 7583 (66 away) but the winner of this round was New Dawn Fades whose guess of 7485 was just 32 away from the mark.
7 points and the bonus for New Dawn, a third win of the season and a rise up to 3rd in the overall table which is still headed by yours truly.

Twenty guessers for the home clash with Burton Albion, the game attracted 5044 spectators, and only four of our number failed to score points this time. Seven point guesses were made by Claret Lady and Dave but it was SXCobbler who was closest to the mark with a guess of 5035. This was just 9 away and scored 15 points and the bonus.
SXCobbler leaps up to second in the table with that win, but Claret Lady is keeping the pressure on too.

The last action of a forgettable 2011 saw Swindon visit the fortress that isnt Sixfields!! A large travelling crowd boosted the overall attendace to a seasons high of 5808/ We had twenty guessers again, a number of early guesses were revised upwards before the game, but we still had only 11 guessers who scored points.
Tuks got 7 points for his guess of 5847, Deepcut also got 7 for his 5783, but he was eclipsed by PineWoody whose late guess of 5820 came up trumps, just 12 away for ten points.
No positional changes in the top 10, but PineWoody climbs from a lowly 22nd to a more respectable 14th.

Game 28 saw the Cobblers travel to Shrewsbury in what was the first game of 2012.....I forgot to post the thread but even though I did so late we still had 15 guessers for this game.
Only 9 scored points though as everyone guessed under the official attendance of 6045....Tuks and Cox23Jam both made 5 point guesses but the winner this time was oop_north whos guess of 5999 was closest....46 away earning him 7 points and the bonus. None of the top 8 scored points so very little changes in the table.

15 of our number scored points this game, with St Edmundsbury Cobbler and Coboz both picking up 7 points each. The winner for this round was tuks whose guess of 1874 was just 5 away and earns him 15 points and the bonus...the first time this season that he has come closest.

The thirtieth game of the season saw The Tayn entertain Southend, and a decent crowd of 5255 turned out. We had 20 guessers for this one, a number of you were close to the official attendance..... five people got 5 points each, with another five managing 7 points apiece..Oldbloke (32 away), St Edmundsbury (45), oop_North (44), New Dawn Fades (30), and the winner Coboz whose guess of 5230 was closest at 25 away.
So, another one of our regulars picks up a first win of the season, and moves into the top 10 as a result. A decent guess by sxcobbler sees him close the gap slightly on the leader GPC.

We had 19 guessers for the game against Barnet, 16 of whom scored points. The attendance was 4561. Three close guesses made by GrangeParkCobbler (23 away with 4538 for 10 points), Claret Lady (9 away with 4570 for 15 points) and the winner NTFC Nut who made a terrific guess of 4562 which was just 1 away. 15 points and the bonus for him as GPC extends his lead at the top. Claret Lady goes up to 2nd and NTFC Nut makes it into the top 10.

Match 32 saw a trip to the seaside as The Cobblers travelled to Torquay, and a crowd of 2719 were in attendance. We had 19 guessers again, no less than 4 of them picking up seven points for being between 25 and 41 away. The top guess this time though was made by Oldbloke who plumped for 2723 and was just 4 away. A long overdue first win of the season for the consistent guesser who had managed to hold a place in the top 10 despite never being closest.

After the enforced break for snow and frost we finally got a game on as AFC Wimbledon were the visitors to Sixfields. A crowd of 4072 was out and again we had 19 guesses for this game.
A large number of guesses worth 5 points were made, but better guessers were SXCobbler (22 away for 10 points), singcobb (15 away for 10 points), wrigleys (4067...five away for 15 points) and winner BSCobbler whose guess of 4076 was closest being only 4 away. Another first time winner this late on in the season!
BSCobbler moves from 18th to 9th as GPC still leads.....

Nineteen guessers for the rearranged Macclesfield fixture at home, a game which was part of the £10 run and pulled in a healthy crowd of 4529, only 2 of our number plumped for higher then that figure....and we had 5 non-scoring guesses this week.

Only 17 guessers for the game against Bristol Rovers and a lower than anticipated crowd of 4028 caught a number of guessers out with 5 not scoring at all by guessing too high. The winning guess was actually the first one made for the game so well done to Mackem Cobbler who plumped for 4012 and was just 16 below the actual number.
