Sometimes I see things about the place and think wow or that's unusual, so being a sad lad with not much else to do, I thought I would share them.  Feel free to join in - maybe Coolio can find an interesting real ale/pub or Herts could rave about an interesting spreadsheet.  Maybe I am in a sad little world of my own and nobody else wants to join in, who knows.

Anyway today I saw a gritter with a snowplough attached - presumably in case the forecasted heatwave did not arrive.

Also for the last coupke of days there has been a very strange looking, very bright orange ship in the dock outside my office window:

Well some of the amateur weather forcasters have been predicting the worst snow that Britain has seen for over forty years, arriving late October/early November. Be nice to think that the country was prepped for once Shocked

Can we add "sad" to the interesting/unusual things??

I had a MK Dons fan get off my train at Coventry tonight after he presumably attended the MK-Charlton game......there he was in his replica shirt, scarf and program tucked under his arm....in Coventry!!

I'm occasionally in Hartlepool.  The berth it was in belongs to a cable laying company.  There is another berth where they make gas rigs, so they sometimes have strange looking things as well.

Most unusual thing I have ever seen on the normally very boring BBC website. Watch the video in the top right, quite scary to be honest!

The racehorses were out training on the moor this morning as the sunshine was breaking through the early morning mist:

Do you know what "Nemesis" means?

A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent personified in this case by a sex starved voyeur that is Tyro.

What an interesting day - well, lots of interesting things seen.

A pair of Rhino's in a field just off the road:

Three Corvettes in Barrow which further research tells me were built for the Royal Brunei Navy, but then theydecided that they didn't want them, so they're trying to flog them if anyone fancies them:

Later on I went past Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant:

Then in Workington I went over the bridge that the Major's lot built to replace the one swept away in the floods:

When I was taking a bit of a short cut across a moor road in t'Dales today I came across loads of these ambling along the road, blocking my path:

Didn't want to upset them as I'm in my new car - 10 days in and no scratches or dents.

A pair of these swooped down low across the road in front of me as I was driving around the moor this morning:

No pictures, but there was a very unusual sight of a four year old boy walking besides the river Isar in Landshut, Germany proudly wearing a cobblers hat(he nicked it off me because it was warmer than his), with his grandma and uncle shaking their heads at having another family member sucked into supporting a lost cause.

My daughter has taken my Cobblers scarf with her when she went back to uni in Augsburg. Slowly the invasion has begun.

Driving down the M1 today I saw the weirdest cloud I'd ever seen. It was really thin and willowy and the sun was diffusing through it, making the whole thing look like a really vivid rainbow. I was gutted I couldn't stop and take a picture, it was amazing!
