Richards didn't even make the last squad.
I'd perhaps give it to someone like Phil Jones, Hart, Cahill or Smalling.

What has happened to innocent until proven guilty? Terry should not have been stripped of the captaincy until such time that he was found guilty, not hung out to dry by a bunch of ****ing pinkos who think it's the right thing to do, because it is so wrong under the very precepts of British law. However I have to agree with earlier posts on hear that the hearing should be immediate and not after the Euros. It would be interesting to see the average time it takes a case like this normally to get before the beak.

It's quite normal to be suspended from your job while waiting for prosecution hearing. To give an extreme example you wouldn't want a teacher to carry on working while facing a peadophile charge. There's no reason why he should be even any preferential treatment in the justice system simply because he's a footballer and I don't see how it's a 'pinko' issue. Racism is abhorred by all people, left or right.

Rio, Woodgate and Bowyer all not selected while waiting trials. There is a precedent and JT should not be selected for the squad either.

A government think tank into identifying racist people came to shocking conclusion, using all sorts of interrogation and pressurised interviewing and by using the good cop, same colour creed class and bad cop polar opposite and general observation of everyday life it came to the conclusion that our society is 92% racist and predgedist, ranging from mild to extreme, regardless of colour or religion it showed we all follow the Family first, then relatives, close friends who are useful, your own caste then fellow school/political party members and then fellow country men. League tables of the most racist people were drawn up and the findings shown the indigenous populations were the most tolerant! Overtly racist people are ignorant and need educating, but who's left to do the preaching? someone who is a little less racist? just a thought.

He like your teacher example should be dealt with swiftly by the courts. I feel that the length of time being taken to have this case heard has been deliberately extended to allow him to play in the Euros. The pinko thing is very tongue in cheek and comes from a TV series(Ican't remember which one) where the main character when having a rant always blamed the "commie fag subversives". I for one would hope that when if he is found guilty the FA do the right thing and ban him from all forms of football governed by them for life. That is the only way that a clear message will be sent to everyone involved in the game that racism in any way shape or form in not acceptabe in the game.

According to the radio today, it was actually Chelsea that asked for the court case to be put back until the summer. Seems a little odd to me.
The worrying thing now is that it looks like the England squad, almost regardless of its composition, is going to be split apart with rumours of deep rifts between the Chelsea players and Man U players (because of the Ferdinand connection) and splits between the Man U players and the Liverpool squad, and not a lot of love lost between Man City's players and the Liverpool squad after their recent games. Then you have the FA now split, the FA and Capello split, and the media and politicians all getting involved in an unholy spat. This disunity on the pitch will inevitably lead to trouble in Poland and Ukraine off the pitch with the fans of all these clubs using the opportunity denied in the different games this season because of heavy policing to take it out on each other. The appalling standard of refereeing this season has contributed to what can only be described as the worst mess English football has ever been in. The whole game is over-hyped, over-publicised, over videoed and over analysed; we should go back to when football was a man's game played on a pitch where everything stayed on the pitch and everyone had a beer together afterwards. I watched the Chelsea game yesterday where Howard Webb's refereeing allowed it to degenerate into a game of basketball. Any player going to ground while moving in a forward direction got a free kick, ball to hand the same, with only I think one great tackle just outside the penalty area going correctly unpunished.

To be honest I've had it with the English national team, still angry about the shambles in SA and can't believe the nucleus of that squad still play an important part.
It wouldn't bother me one bit if Capello had the balls to take a young squad to Euro 12 and left the likes of Cole, Ferdinand, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard and Rooney in England. They're over rated, over paid and its time to put them out to pasture.

And they want a manager to replace Capello that cannot read, write's "like a two year old" and cannot remember opening a bank account, or even the name of said bank, in his dogs name? Thats before they get into whether he is guilty or not of tax evasion!

Gerrard however wasn't dropped during the investigation in to his DJ altercation, so their is a precedent the other way too. I'm no John Terry fan but having watched the video of the alleged abuse I really cannot tell either way whether it is or isn't of racial intent so, despite singcobbs over-reaction, I do think he has a point about innocent until proven guilty here, unless you lot are all master lip-readers and can categorically state what Terry is alleged to have said. That said it is right to have stripped him of the captaincy during the investigation

Lip reading isn't necessary because JT admitted to what he said, the mitigating factor of what preceded him actually saying it is in question. I believe that the Legals have copy's of the footage from a different angle to that which was made public which will confirm or deny the claim of provocation or a mitigating factor prior to the actual incident. Besides all this, it should have been done and dusted long before now. If footballers are all now allowed to delay court proceedings because it would 'disrupt their club' it makes a mockery of the preferential treatment that footballers will be getting over 'normal' non-celebrities. Climbs down off soap box.....

I wasn't aware he admitted to saying what is alleged, is that in any papers or online news sites anywhere? If that is indeed the case then that is a completely different matter and he should be busted out of the England squad completely, mitigating/aggravating circumstances or not

I thought he admitted to saying "yeah, I never called you a black ****, you f*cking kn*bhead" which is what the cameras appeared to pick up- problem being, Ashley Cole conveniently walks in front of the camera so you don't get to see the "...I never called..." part.

Agree with the comments that this has been allowed to drag on far too long. The FA have again made a hash of things imo. If the intention is to make a strong statement that racism will not be tolerated within the game they should have suspended him from playing at all not just strip him of the captaincy. It's not unusual for people to be suspended from work pending enquiries/legal cases etc but you can't then say .. we've suspended you from part of your job but we want you to come in and do the other bits.
I sincerely hope however that IF his comments prove to be the result of aggravated circumstances the player that aggravated him is punished by the FA too.

Did you see Gary Neville's England team on MNF? I'd be happy with this:
