Having watched Bratford beat Shrewsbury, what are the chances of the Cobblers getting a result on Monday?
Bratford were the better team and for the first time looked a team that believed that they could win and wanted to win.
I've only seen the Cobblers at Bratford and at Macclesfield this season, so for what it's worth this is how I think the Shrews lost.
1- Bratford closed the play down and never let Shrewsbury dwell on the ball. 2- Bratford's forward line was mobile and willing to chase lost causes, putting the defence under pressure. 3- Early balls were crossed in from both wings, that were causing Shrewsbury serious problems. They did not seem to be able to head clear. Balls were dropping to the midfield. 4- Bratford were shooting and keeping the ball low. Again Shrewsbury found it hard to clear the ball. 5- When under pressure Bratford's defence hoofed the ball out. No complaints from the crowd as it was the sensible thing to do.
Shrewsbury looked tired at the end and had been in a battle. They came into the game when they had the man advantage.
Based on the above, could the Cobblers do the same as Bratford and pull off a surprise?
For me the main thing is confidence and self belief, plus a mobile forward line. Let's hope the man from Brum is mobile and will run around. Perhaps Young can put in some good crosses that Berahino and Asante can run onto. Defenders have had it too easy against Akinfenwa.
Most important - where do you park for free at Shrewsbury?

Nowhere that I've ever found, but I can say from personal experience that if you park in that retail park (limited to 90 mins?) and overstay, then say that you had lunch at Pizza Hut, went away for an hour then went shopping again at Toys R Us, the ticket does go away. If you say you're not remotely interested in football, that's only stretching it a little bit as a Cobblers fan at present.

Thanks for the tip.
We're not the same team we were when you played us a few weeks ago, but then I'd say you lot are the best team we've played this season by a country mile - only Swindon come close.

Thanks for the info on the Shrews. That seems to match AB's style of play, so I guess so long as we can keep going for 95 mins, we stand a good chance. I'm going 2-3 to the Cobbs, with the Shrews goals coming late in the game to set up a grand-stand finish. (Better get on the road, now)

I think 2 games in 3 days will be a bit much for our lot today. Another fighting performance but I can't see us getting a result against the Shrews. 3-1 to them for me.
I hope to god I'm wrong. Come on the Tayn!

2-0 down at Half time
Then an inspirational AB team talk sends the players out who turn in a heroic second half display culminating in 3 Cobblers goals and a win that moves us out of the drop zone.

I don't care what the score is aslong as we don't concede in the last 10 mins and actually get some points. Come on town!

Radio Northampton says all three new boys to start.
I expect Adams for Corker; Harding for Davies; Robinson or Young will miss out.

Robbo is the one who drops out.
Today’s team: Higgs, Crowe, Adams, Langmead, Tozer, Young, Johnson, Harding, Jacobs, Berahino, Asante.
Freddy Hall, Ashley Corker, Andy Holt, Jake Robinson, Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The important thing is we don't concede early otherwise it'll be over before its barely started. I don't think today will be where we turn our season around - home win.

Davies is not in the XVI - unless he is injured this would suggest that Aidy has concluded that he is a tart.

Radio said that he's got a groin injury - but I wouldn't be too bothered if he doesn't play for us again. A good footballer at times, but needs to grow a pair.
