-8 according to my car, granted i am 20 miles from Sixfields but sure it must be close to that there being on the edge of town and all. Let's just hope that they put another couple of layers of covers on. Still nowt on Sky about a pitch inspection.

The club has stated that TWO extra frost covers have been hired for the south end of the pitch and there is no planned pitch inspection.Well done NTFC. See you all at 3pm!

Sounds like they are confident the game will go ahead. They must have scattered salt around the grounds as well. I do hope it goes ahead its the exactly type of game game we need to play now. A win WILL give a much needed boost ahead of the daggers trip.
Edited to relect the truth ... We WILL win!

Odds on it will be off.

It has to be "B" @RunRunPass Another big smile on my face. I always get the big decisions right.
Couldn't be happier, you can all blame me if it turns pear shaped. Up next year without a doubt and no need of the play-offs.

Which will mean it is called off, if they need a pitch inspection there is obviously concerns about the pitch and it isn't warm enough to get better.
So what instead? Pub...!?

I would just like to say IMO an eleven o'clock inspection is farcical. If the pitch is unplayable now it will be unplayable at 11. The forecast is that temperatures are unlikely to rise above freezing and therefore if the pitch is at present frozen it should be called off now. Why on earth a local ref couldn't have been brought in to inspect at 8.30-9.00 is beyond me??? It is totally unfair on the travelling Macclesfield fans to have to be put through this when they are already travelling. I also respect that we as a club desperately want to play the match but I'm sure most fans were astounded when no early morning inspection was called given how cold it got last night. I'm sure if we as a club were being made to trapse all the way to Macclesfield only to have it called off late morning we would be spitting feathers. Don't get me wrong I'd love the game to be on but it just seems that common sense has not been used on this occasion.

This is just a guess, but we could have a situation where say there is a strip of the pitch which is unplayable and they have begged for more time. If a game is in doubt I think only the match referee or a Football League Official can make that call. Some of the early inspections at 9am were done by the ref so I am surprised that he is not there.

The pitch may be iffey but as much as anything they will probably want to get a better judgement on when the snow will arrive. Nothing worse than an abandoned match. Would hate to see Plymouth gain an advantage if we don't play though!

Yes I take your point herts but if there is an area which is frozen it's unlikely to change when we are not going to get above freezing all day!! If we were due to get above freezing temperatures then by all means give it every chance but we are not likely to. I hope I am wrong because I would have liked to have seen some football. But as far as I'm concerned if it wasn't playable at 8am it won't be playable at 11am given that we are currently -1!! Mind you we could have all the players out there with hairdryers I suppose!!!

It may be ok now as its covered.
Its still freezing out there.however, and whilst it may be playable now ot might not be in a couple of hours. The problem may well be when the covers are removed.

Swindon game has been called off and they had a heated dome on their pitch, no chance of ours being on.

if this is called off, just sums up the luck we are having as a club, a game that we need at the present we cant quite seem to get the full go ahead as the games may be rescheduled for midweek, dagenham might have to play 2 in a week, wheres as we could focus solely on the one!!

This is a game we really needed to be on. It was the chance to bank what should have been an easy 3 points. I suppose one could argue that we will have more time to bed in the new signings, ut then they have a couple of West Ham loanees too. How much on Danny Green to score the only goal next Saturday?
