My only reservation is that this is just too good to be true really. Who else could we have realistically got that some of our complaining supporters would have preferred over CC?

I don't actually think 24 hours ago you'd have said getting CC was remotely realistic.

You're not meant to admit on here you've not heard of a player. They'll crucify you.

Don't relations normally share surnames?  Huh?
Good signing though.

Goodness gracious me! We could still be a Football League club this time next year.

Is that the sound of the club winning you over Steve?

I must say, I haven't felt as positive about things for a long time. I always believed that, under AB, we'd do just enough to survive but, with this signing, I am now convinced that we will. He brings more to the club than his quality / ability to play. He'll be great in the dressing room, on the training pitch etc.

Welcome Clarke. Lets get this thing done!

Clarke Carlisle? I remember buying him as a young lad in Football Manager 2001! Very happy with this signing, especially if he has leadership qualities.

It will be interesting to see the team on Saturday. Surely we are not going to play one up front at home?

My wish-list from November was Experienced Centre-Back, Left back and a proper (not re-constituted CB) Central midfielder. I'm happy that with Carlisle, Adams, Guttridge and Harding we've covered my wishes (and more). It's AB's team, now - so let's see what he can do with it.

Agreed, I'm sure AB wanted that type of striker to strengthen his squad. All we can do is wait until the loan window opens back up, I'm sure there will be good name/stature strikers out there willing to get a game.

Never a truer phrase than "you can never please all of the people all the time"

I am happy with the dealings to date.    As Mr Howard did not go to Shrews after all maybe, just maybe, the loan scene will put the icing on the cake.

For now however, welcome to all and ......

.... lets make the stands a sea of Claret on Saturday .......  absolutely everything I can cross will be crossed  Cheesy
