There are a lot of Liverpool fans in Northampton, as in people who support them as a second team orare left from the 80s glory days, I rekon 5000 could be reachable.

Hope they don't go too over the top with ticket prices though, £20 max, £15 would be nice.
a) I'm confused. Liverpool fans in Northampton? Sit in the home ends then.

b) As everybody knows, it is a joint decision made by both clubs.

According to the offish....you can become a part time fan by buying a ticket for the next crappy home game and get the same treatment as ST holders and members....

If you are an STH...(like me) you can "benefit" from getting a second ticket for your mate if he/she turns up for the next game.

Now whilst I applaud getting more people into the ground...how does that benefit me as an STH?

STH should get 2 each regardless....for their loyalty...as should members and away match booking form people.

Quote from: The Official Website
initial priority for tickets will go to away match booking form users, followed by 2010/11 season ticket holders
Those supporters who purchase a ticket for the Southend United home game on September 11th will be next in line of priority

From what I understand, Southend ticket holders are not equal to STH, but they are third in line - Hopefully the fairweather supporters' desperation to get a ticket, helped by the confusing (and untrue) headline will see a sellout at Sixfields.

I am gutted that I can't make the Liverpool game as I simply cant afford it. I have a season ticket with my 2 boys so if anybody wants 1 adult and 2 (or just one) child tickets for Liverpool game I am willing to help out although as previously mentioned you may be ok just waiting for tickets to go on general sale. PM me if you are interested so we can sort something out for when tickets go on sale.

PM Sent...

Talk about storm in a teacup.

Anfield holds over 40,000. There will be plenty of spare seats. The club has got this totally wrong, had we been at home to Liverpool then maybe, just maybe their ideas to raise extra cash might have paid off but who in their right mind would buy a ticket for the Southend game when they know only too well that there will be tickets available for everybody who wants one? The idea that someone will pay £199 for a season ticket in the same circumstances is quite frankly laughable.

I do !, this penny pinching etc has lost the club many fans, a self fullfilling prophecy you could say, cuts here, cuts there, and where do the club end up, a million miles away from the 5 year plan. The 1000 odd drop in attendances is down to there lack of investment in the squad, had he actually gone the extra few quid to sign Simon Cox a few years ago, then i doubt very much wether the club would be as poor as it is now. Yes they have to work within bugets , but sometimes you just have to take that ****, speculate to accumulate. i very rarely go these days, i got fed up with **** football, and journeyman players that dont really care, so why should i.

Also, Saturdays game at Aldershot is NOT going to be televised either. So be there or you'll miss it.

I agree but many kept on speculating about it and I was anxious to put that speculation to bed.

If one idiot buys a season ticket to secure a Liverpool ticket then the club will have succeeded.

I don't know why everyone is up in arms about the club's policy on Southend tickets, this has been a trick that has been played for many years by numerous clubs.

Mark, anybody can get a ticket for this game. Anybody. The only way this sort of thing will work is if tickets are limited which they are not. The only people this will catch out are fools so perhaps they deserve to be parted from their money.

I think we'll get as many tickets as we need.

How many will we take? Depends on a few factors:

1. Liverpool will not play a full strength team
2. Its a mid-week match
3. The distance
4. Cost

I think we'll take 2,500 given the 4 points I've raised......
.........but I'd settle for 3 points on Saturday please!

As I am sure we all know by now match is confirmed for Wednesday 22nd September at 8pm.
As well as the £17.50 train return from Northampton (details above) ......www.megatrain.co.uk have train returns from London for £14.50 Wednesday to Thursday (for anyone else exiled in the smoke)

Southend  WTF! , I have been to the all the home pre-season games , and all the home games. Meaning in two home games time i would have paid for the season ticket i couldnt afford to get in MAy-June But I will not be entitled to a liverpool ticket because my friends have arranged a birthday weekend in nottingham on my birthday septeber 11th.

This has truley ****ed me off , there will be nobheads that havent been all season making the nice 1 and a half hour trip down the road to southend getting a ticket.
