Title: Tell your Story
Post by: d3d4 on November 09, 2017, 10:39:14 am
Hi guys,

I run a website and I have linked it on this forum before D3D4football.com

Basically I am looking for people to tell their stories about how they became a fan of Northampton, what made you fall in love with football and this club. Anything that you want to say that you feel is interesting would be great. The site is for fans by fans and it is dedicated to the lower leagues.

You don't have to have any writing experience because it is not a snooty site for top writers who only care about the Premier League, it is about core supporters and the great stories we all have. So step up and tell us what supporting this club has meant and still does mean to you.

If you are interested in being a Correspondent and providing match reports and breaking news features etc then we always need that too! Get in touch at info@d3d4football.com

Thanks
James

1. I was born in 1945 2 streets away from the County Ground.
2. My first 7 years of supporting the Cobblers saw them lose very few games (60-66).
3. When we became rubbish again I moved to and worked in the south which protected my sanity and faithfulness.

1. I was born in 1973
2. My first game was in 1984 Cobblers V Aldershot we won 4-0 I think
3. My Nan lived very close to the ground and the Team used to eat in her Cafe. So I started going to more games.
3. Attended games from 84-97 before I headed out to Texas
4. Favourite Game was Shrewsbury away 1993 (The Game). The FA Cup game again Cov was decent as well 1990
4. Favourite Players Ricky Holmes/Martin Smith
5. Watch every game via I Follow when I can.
6. I haven't seen the Cobblers win on my last 3 visits back so fingers crossed next year.

Born in 68, the day The Beatles went to number 1.
I know I attended numerous games, but my only real memory was when I was 6, used to sit on my dad's shoulders and some twat threw a bottle which hit me. Dad sat me on the planks at the front of the Hotel End, went back, found the  twat and rearranged his teeth.
Best game either THAT game at Shrewsbury or Villa. Worst was the Dale FA cup tie...
I loved Roy Hunter and Dave Gilbert.
Watched them until the new century when I went abroad. Returned last year...bad pennies and all that.
