Title: Skelmersdale Utd
Post by: Shoemaker on November 15, 2017, 20:59:55 pm
I know it’s miles away up north but this club is living a nightmare at the moment.
Having been through the mill ourselves would it not be possible to have a collection on Saturday for them or perhaps the trust could look into donating a small amount to help them out.
I just stumbled on their plight earlier and frankly I’m amazed this hasn’t been highlighted nationally.
Maybe if we highlight it and get the ball rolling other league clubs will follow suit.
When you’ve been up against it like we have you know how awful it feels and I’d like to think as a club/fans we could do our bit for them.

What's their story?

Looks a sad tale - unfortunately the link only provides their story and it appears to be pretty one side at that. What we need is the other side of the story that is their landlords (Chequer Properties Limited) input before any decision on SOS funding can be taken. Let alone NTFC's permission to carry out a collection.

Agree with Evers. Too much of a one side story, might be a bit more to this than meets the eye.

Get the two big bin dipper clubs to help them?

I find this bit interesting: "to send in the bailiffs and evict us one month early."
ReallY? Because I find it strange any court would issue an order for 'early repossession' - unless there are major, major breaches of contract having taken place.

Even once once a Possession Order has been made by a court (and I'd assume this is the same even when dealing with 'Court Sheriffs') the tenant is under no obligation to vacate, and can string things out until the High Courts get involved.

I'm interested in finding out more about this case. ;)
