Title: Jimmy with wilders squad
Post by: Grove on November 28, 2017, 19:08:24 pm
I happen to think that jimmy is good coach,,he's had some stick of late. But reverse the roles, how would Wilder cope with the current squad, and how would jimmy have done with Chris's wonder boys.

That’s a tough one because without the Cardoza crisis who knows how it would have played out in the special season? What’s probably more telling is Wilder’s success since he moved on. I think JFH has a lot to prove before he is fit to lace Wilder’s managerial boots. Therefore I’d say he have us further up the league with this squad but we’ll never know.

Who in Wilder's squad would be a nailed on starter today? Not many I would suggest (apart from Holmes - definite). So I think you'd have to argue that Wilder might get a tad more out of today's squad.

What saved CW from mediocrity was the signing of Holmes. It made NTFC a force to be reckoned with; champions to boot. It also made CW a much sought after Manager and has since proved/confirmed his promise. It is more than likely that CW would have got more from this squad, but it is also highly likely that some of the players here now would have not been signed by CW.

Agreed. Facts will demonstrate we were settling for 1st place mediocrity when Holmes returned from injury.

Also facts will show that but for Holmes our Championship season may well have faltered; Mansfield,Stevenage and Luton are just a few results that come to mind. You do like omitting the obvious!

Do you understand what a fact is? Google will help you if not.

I think that we would have finished in the top 3 without Holmes, but only just.

The key to maintaining the momentum was the January additions of Collins etc.

Spot on it was those additions in January which cemented promotion.

Are you managed by Eddie Hearn?

The number of fights (read spats) you have lined up each week is astounding!
