Title: Welcome Kevin Luckassen
Post by: Teachers Pet on March 08, 2018, 15:22:21 pm
New striker signed until the end of the season, has been without a club since last summer but has been training with us for the last two weeks.

Welcome and good luck Kevin.

Let me be the first to say that the Luckassen our side...welcome Kev!

Do we read into Jimmy's welcome that KvV is out for longer than originally thought?

Got terminated from his last club for fighting and hardly scores. He's scored 11 times in 73 games. He's no Revmeister but Welcome..

Good dancer too. Looks big and powerful with some pace from the clips. Maybe, he'll be our John Akinde, we can always hope.

I goal in every 6.6 games! If he hits the ground running he should manage to pop one in before the end of the season. Jimmy obviously doesn't fancy Mathis Rose

Well done Frank - looks a sort of Frank Large player? No pun intended! From what I can gather from Chron pics(no smile there) he might well ruffle a few feathers. Another John Gayle.

This post is made in good faith and is only 'comment orientated'. 8)

You'd expect Long remains firmly as first choice. Can only imagine KvV has had a setback?

Either way, surely it's better to have him than not have him. He looks big, strong and quick from the youtube video - the opposition look non league standard though  ;D

If he's anything like Frank Large, then great we'll stay up no problem. However, he's obviously not.

Hasn't he played in the top league for Ross County (Scottish Prem) and also the team in Czech Republic and Austria - not sure of the standard in those countries and we all know about the Scottish Prem, where he failed to score in 20 appearances. But he seems the type to put himself about and defenders have had it quite easy this season with Long upfront, certainly something we've been missing. Lets rough some defenders up!

Certainly an impact sub who would make an impact in more ways than one!!

Such is Jimmyís penchant for one up front this bloke will not get much game time unless Long gets crocked.....unless Jimmy finally gets adventurous!!

Mathis was only ever going to get game time if VV or Long got hurt, he was here as cover.

With VV hurt, JFH doesn't want to be stuck with one striker so he has got someone else in short term, which is the right thing to do.

Could be awful or brilliant, but at least he has played a good amount of league games compared to Mathis and offers something different to what we have. Hasn't played for a while though, so who knows.

I'm hoping he'll be amazing and shock us all.

He looks quick and strong on the ball, doesn't jump but wins most headers, remind you of anyone?

I've got a very good feeling about The Luckmeister after watching his goals against those top European teams.

Looks more like an attacking midfielder to me cause he plays some decent balls into his team mates and uses his strength to win the ball #justanopinion

Donít agree at least not all of them. Seen worse at Bradford just a few weeks ago. Not sure why you wish to be so over critical?

You saw worse than a ball trickling past the defence and the goalkeeper leaving a striker with a simple tap in into an open net at Bradford?

I have seen comical goals conceded and scored this season. Both goals at Bradford came about by poor defending. Their forum very unhappy!
You appear to be over critical based on a video however itís your opinion and thatís fair enough! I donít quite agree thatís all. I just wondered why which is a reasonable query/comment?

Don't kid yourself Nevers - You would see better defending on the Racecourse!

Great debut. Looked like he has been playing with the team the whole season. He has to start with Long. It will be interesting when KVV gets fit again..

I have to admit I thought he was going to be an embarrassment.  What a pleasant surprise, heís very strong and is going to be a real handful for opposition defences.

Luckassen was signed by a certain Derek Adams (Plymouth manager) when  he was manager of Ross County "Kevin is very talented" Adams said. Then when they sold him they apparently got a 'significant fee' for him, and it appears they didn't really want to sell but it was too good to turn down.

It seems the lad had something about him at the age of 19/20, this could be a great bit of business for the club. Here's hoping, still only 24 with a bit to prove after the incident that saw him sacked last summer after fighting with a team mate.
