Title: Deafening silence
Post by: Wattie on July 04, 2018, 21:15:02 pm
So nothing from the club on development, sale of the club or transfers. A tad worrying withe the pre season work well under way.

Sugfests to me that the club is still up for sale and at the moment the team have a real job on their hands if it is dependant on players being sold.

Not looking good but hope we get some news soon

I think its par for the course for a club that spent big in the last transfer window. I would expect players to come in when some of the squad leave. I doubt there is much money available for too many signings without that happening. This so called "bigger budget" is only happening because of the players already signed up on higher wages. Im struggling to see this squad making any type of push for promotion in its present form.
KT wont release any plans until the leases are fully signed over.

New owner to be announced imminently according to rumours on Facebook...

Would make sense a new owner being announced, might be why the council suddenly agreed the deal and why it has been unusually quiet. At least Beds might finally shut up!

transfers - the ones you think are likely to leave will still go and be replace by 2 or 3 players to get the squad to around 20 outfield players.
owners - KT
development - not for a while

If it is him. He also owns a development cycling team called SEG Racing Academy who have produced a number of good riders since they started.

If this SEG are genuinely going to take over the club their current clients list makes them seem a much more established company within football than the chinese investors

https://www.transfermarkt.com/seg-sports-entertainment-group/beraterfirma/berater/586

Could we be the lower league wolves who get funneled dutch talent on loan?

KT does seem very quite...

No tangible update about the next steps now the lease issue has been "verbally" agreed.
I appriciate if it STILL hasn't been amended by NBC then he's being cautious but after all the effort and threats to NBC, you'd think he's be giving us fans some rays of light...

It seems pretty obvious he's looking for an out as since the lease ammendment had been agreed by NBC,  KT has not reasurred fans by stating that the club is no longer for sale, so let's hope this rumour has some legs...

BORED BORED BORED!!!

Seems like a made up rumour. Hopefully it isn't.

I couldn't care if it was @devil666 taking over as long as we actually start doing right by the club.
We no longer have the land so thankfully speculators rushing up from London or bushey in hope of making a killing will not be interested.😂

Quite agree all very boring at the moment, just be nice to hear something from the club that we can actually discuss  rather than recycling out of desperation, very unlike KT but I guess he told us the club was up for sale and has said nothing to the contrary and the poor friendlies and lack of transfer dealings does hint that we are still up for sale

If you think that anyone is buying us for the love of the club, you're more delusional than you appear.. Actually, probably not.  ;D :P

It's a more viable option that it was a few weeks back. In one sense, and one sense only.

Perhaps it's time you really pushed that local consortium you've always had up your sleeve. I'd hate to see them miss out, if only for the fact that you have been such a staunch advocate of their epic intentions for the club....  8)

With the land grabbed and the £10m long gone any potential buyers would be more inclined now to make money through club growth, which we all can agree to be the best option and what we all want.
I wonder what the asking price is?😂😂
Can you imagine the sales pitch... A bit more enthusiastic now and a lot less down  playing potential  I bet 😉

I was actually referring to that the club may have nothing to say, hence why there is silence from the club (see topic).

On the playing side of things, while it would be nice to be inundated with new faces, there surely has to be something to be said for a similar group coming back into pre-season. Austin clearly has a plan for a small and tight knit squad so there's no need to panic at this stage IMO.

Title: Re: Deafening silence
Post by: guest3181 on July 13, 2018, 23:01:56 pm
My biggest concern at present is that Austin has lost his "zip" in the latest interviews released on the club-site & youtube.  (Look, you guys, I'm not talking trousers, OK?)

End of last season, he was all adrenaline & positivity.  Now, he seems down-beat and almost dismissive in his interviews.

Am I too sensitive a soul, and have read too much into that?

My second concern is that some of the ball control in the friendlies has been s***e.  The football boot should be a magnet to a football..... not a f'cking random repelling agent.....

Title: Re: Deafening silence
Post by: TownOwl on July 13, 2018, 23:06:35 pm
To be fair, there's not much about friendlies that gets the adrenaline rushing.

Nor the performances in them so far.

Whats your oppinion on the cardozas and the gross bushey mob getting off scot free with our £10.25m, wasn't that slightly irritating or was that before your time?

Have they ? can you let the Serious Crime Squad know as I thought they are still working on the case.

My time goes back as long as yours so more than irritating - maybe not in the eyes of the law but to me it is disgustingly wrong- monies deprived from the people of Northampton in general and the football club in particular.

I think it is truly disgusting these characters can get away with it time and time again - although  in general I'm slightly less angry about the 10 million but more so on the number of small honest businesses destroyed by this type of "business" behavior.

Totally agree, small businesses left helpless at the hands of fly by night companies.
Its just that it was a matter of how much of that £12m would actully benefit our club and if we are honest, expecting anything less than 50% creamed off  wouldve been seen a successful outcome.
Getting nothing was a kick in the teeth but not wholly unexpected.

All posts that suggest, or directly imply that a crime has occurred are going to get deleted. I have dealt with some of these guys solicitors before. They will definitely be watching, and they will definitely pursue you. No ridiculous alleged or apparently comment either. I'd steer well clear of it all.

Since promotion the club has stood still both on and off the pitch. The consequence of this stance is that you inevitably go backwards and often quickly.  However you shuffle the pack of players we currently have, and there are lots of suggestions as to personnel and formations on this site, the simple fact is that the players are not good enough individually (despite what we are told) but more importantly in a team game, not good enough as a unit. I’m sorry to suggest that perhaps we are seeing a club coming to the end of the line, however painful that thought maybe. There are a number of clubs in the league below us possibly more deserving of our place in the League.  AFC Fylde and Salford City to name just two, clubs which have ambition, workable plans on how to achieve that, sound financial backing, a professional outlook and most importantly of all, a real desire to succeed. We have no divine right to be where we are and yet I fail to see how without those qualities NTFC will continue and they seem desperately missing at the present time.  I have no idea whose ‘fault’ this is or have any revolutionary plan to turn it round, but it does not seem that those in charge of the club do either, and for that reason we are like a ghost sailing rudderless in dangerous waters.  All things come to an end and although I desperately do not want to see that happen to NTFC I can only foresee that inevitability at the moment

Oh joy... I've earned the wrath of Everbrite. No rogue supporter I'm afraid but one of 55 years (and season ticket holder for 37/38 years, not sure which) who is genuinely concerned about the future direction of his club.
