Title: Replacements
Post by: Blackadder on May 16, 2010, 22:16:32 pm
New board thought i'd break a habbit and actually post for a change, who knows I might even like it!

So if or when Bayo does go theres alot of talk about bigger squads etc, does this mean were resigned to having 2 or 3 journey men average league 2 players in replacement or would you rather see another 'big name' signing?

We'll probable end up with the bigger squad but it would be nice to have at least one big name in the team if Bayo does leave, Suppose its all down to ambition and who you can actually attract.

Just read this article on the Chron website, Sammo said "If Bayo doesn't sign the contract then one of his targets will bring assets to the club that he doesn't"

The ability to fit in a training top that isn't XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL?

Loyalty?
Doubt that. I'd assume Sammo's other target is a professional footballer.

The return of Leon. Released by Hereford today.

I'd hope so.

So 'something different'

I assume Pace, so that Lewis Gobern was at MK and is a 'winger' but pacey. Trying to look at player's what have been let go, Billy Kee to rejoin Billy McKay?

From the local Hereford rag.....

Leon Constantine's departure comes as little surprise after a frustrating season. He started only two of Turner's 12 games in charge and failed to score in his last 17 games for the Bulls. He leaves Edgar Street with 30 starts, 10 sub appearances, and eight goals.

At least they only signed him on a one year contract, unlike us with Guinan.....cheers Gray you tw@t!

You just know some other League Two club will fall for his 'goalscoring record' at Vale and sign him up thinking they'll 'get the best out of him' and help him 'recapture his form'. Useless twat.

Wasn't Guinan's 2 year deal have something to do with the coaching side?

This is an interesting question. Becuase pretty much the only advantage of Bayo leaving, and it is a significant advantage, is the wages it would free up. To use those wages to bring in only one other player, or maybe two does not solve the problems of a small (understatement) squad.

Unless we can get someone in who is as influential and as good at this level as Bayo on those wages, then I would rather we got in 3 or 4 more players. There can be no doubt that if Bayo goes we proberly need at least 2 more strikers, and we need one who can win something in the air and hold the ball up, becuase we know that is not the strength in Mckay's game.

Well it certainly was not for his skills on the pitch ;D

I think it was a case Gray wanted him and he said give us two years and I will come

I for one actually think Bayo leaving would be a blessing i disguise. If he leaves we may not end up with only a "Plan A" next season and actually have multiple formations/tactics/ideas of how to beat the opposition.

Having said that, Bayo... Please don't go!  ::)

Would he play more games than Stephen?

The difference between them is that Barnet's O'Flynn has a track record of scoring goals above park level.

Plenty of talent on the free transfer list.Would take a punt on Matt Harrold.A good age 6ft and potential for goals.Stephen Purches has been mentioned before, very consistant at this level.
