It'll go one of two ways. Either we'll play a blinder and brush through them, or else...  Embarrassed
I think there's a 3rd option as AS mentioned on another thread - the game may be 'conveniently' postponed.

Interestingly darren purse has been cut from 20/1>14/1>8/1 with Skybet
Lives locally but no management experience as far as I know.
Was rumoured to be joining us on more than one occasion as a player too, I seem to remember. Probably again because he lives locally.

What is Calderwood up to these days
He's assistant to Steve Bruce at Villa.

I think the '78 bashing was a bit OTT, to be honest. All he was doing was being blindingly optimistic. In truth I admit was a little bit jealous.

Too early to start a Wilkinson Out thread?  Tongue
You might as well take the opportunity, while you can. I doubt he'll be around long.

We go again.
148  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Just putting it out there..... on: January 08, 2017, 11:41:15 am
If this was true, and I'm not for a moment suggesting that it is, then any manager worth his salt would have removed this troublesome element from the club at the first opportunity.
149  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Official "Page Out" Thread on: January 08, 2017, 10:00:13 am
I'm sure KT is hoping he'll turn it around - whether that's because he still believes he can, or because he's influenced by the contract he gave him is open to debate. But once the fans start turning against the management hierarchy and attendances start dropping then it's really only a matter of time.
150  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kelvin...your reputation is on the line on: January 07, 2017, 23:27:34 pm
I would imagine a reasonable percentage of season ticket holders are girls. Or used to be.
I don't know any that used to be girls but aren't any more - I'm sure there must be one or two. Does that constitute a reasonable percentage?

Nice miss by Rocky. 'What's he done?' sounds an awful lot like Ricky Gervais

My eyes were drawn to this comment at 16:47 championing Howe:

153  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon (A) on: September 28, 2016, 10:20:19 am
Special mention for Rob Page who could so easily have gone defensive after they equalised but put on more attacking options, sometimes it doesn't come off, but it did last night and Kenji benefitted with a good 20-25 minute display, maybe that should be his role?
I'm not sure we could have gone any more defensive at that point - the stats must have had Swindon at about 90% possession for the half up until the goal. Agree it was a brave change, though. I'd have easily taken the draw at that point - but the second goal was a real sucker-punch and the third they stopped after JJOT's tackle expecting a foul - and that was that.
154  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Zander on: September 22, 2016, 09:35:13 am
Totally agree, ZD was superb.
To be fair, their chubby no. 10 he was up against last night wasn't up to much.
155  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kenji Gorre on: September 12, 2016, 14:56:11 pm
It's all a matter of marketing. Since I started to refer to him as Ken or Kenny I've enjoyed watching him a lot more. Maybe we should all do the same.

As an aside, who was the last Kenneth to play for us? Was it the Good Doctor?
156  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kenji Gorre on: September 10, 2016, 17:21:16 pm
Well played Kenji - Nothing to moan about now. Except perhaps let's move the bloody skip a bit (or maybe a lot) closer so at least there's some semblance of entertainment there.
157  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Walsall @ Home on: September 10, 2016, 17:02:43 pm
Totally dominant. 2-0 flatters them.
Probably because Smithy was the second best goalie on the park today. Not often that happens.

We can have a chat about the game on Saturday in the pubs around London Bridge - what with them being away at Palace while we're at Charlton.
159  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Fleetwood (H) - First Game of Season on: August 07, 2016, 11:21:01 am
First look at Gorre as not seen any pre season, has he been going outside full backs in other games? Pretty sure he cut inside every time he had the ball yesterday which often meant Richards and Revell having to check their runs. If the two R's are going to be the starting front men in a 442, would like to see Gorre and Harry just whip it in the box early. Zac looked solid, Phillips nothing spectacular, hope moloney isn't out too long though. Taylor probably pick of the bunch.
He looks heavily right-footed, to me. Maybe RP wants him to cut inside more.
160  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Amendments to the Laws for the 2016/17 Season on: August 03, 2016, 18:02:10 pm
I've heard that they've changed one to basically stop what Suarez did in south Africa 10 when he handled the ball on the line knowing he'd get sent off but he's saved certain goal and there's a chance penalty might be saved. Which it was. Now I think it's a red and a goal, even if it doesn't cross the line. Is this correct?
I don't think so - I believe it would still be a penalty and a sending off. I think the main change is if someone is making a genuine attempt for the ball and fouling the attacking player, then it's only a caution. I believe this will result in less goalkeepers being sent off (and subsequently banned) for those near 50-50s where there's really nothing else they can do other than bring down the attacker if they get there marginally late.
