We should have been playing against 10 men for the last 15 mins. Once giving that penalty, if that isn't denying a goalscoring opportunity I don't know what is...

I must be the only one to feel a little disappointed by this- on loan until January to cover Artell's injury, fine, but an 18-month deal? Gutted for Dave Artell, he was in great form until he got injured and now is probably not going to be getting back into the team.
I saw Artell in the Players Lounge on Saturday, I don't know what the initial prognosis was with his injury, but he looked far from being anywhere near a return. He was still wearing a protective casting on his foot and with it being his archilles I wouldn't hold out any hope of him being back anytime soon.

It's a complete joke that Nicholls can't play. Having him for the rest of the season, why don't Wigan want him cup tied? If they've put in some clause where they can easily recall him, I won't be happy.
He was unavailable for the first game, therefore he is unavailable for the reply. Them the rules.

There were one or two factors which didn't help the attendance today, some the Clubs doing, some not.
Firstly, tickets for the game only became available earlier this week despite the draw having been made over a week previously. Obviously, reducing the number of days you have to sell the tickets can't have helped.
Secondly, technical problems. Issues with the phones and card processing this week must have had some effect. I tried phoning at least 5 times before I got an answer, and the time it was answered it had been ringing for over three minutes, I'm sure there were plenty of people not as patient as me.
Have to say, I'm getting more and more disillusioned by how the Club is being run off the pitch by the week.

I agree however about the black lawyers association: they are jumping on what could prove to be a highly lucrative bandwagon. We also have the likes of Jason Roberts whinging on about the lack of black managers. If he cares to analyse the fortunes of every single black player who has ever played for England - and there are still surprisngly few - he will find that almost without exception they have opted to pursue more lucrative and certainly more secure careers as pundits and the like. This weekend on 5 Live he asked why Les Ferdinand wasn't considered for a certain job (escapes me which one), the answer is simple - and Les' daughter is in the same class as my daughter - he is not interested as he has a better life and living as a pundit. The only black ex-England player whom I could find that actually dipped his toe into the managerial was John Barnes and he had to leave Prenton Park with an armed guard.
Ha ha... You are joking right....

Nicely put together I say.
This. Can't think of any logical reason why people are whinging about it.

I did touch on this subject some time ago but all disagreed so I will say again...... I wondered what if any influence (if any) DC had on signings, tactics ect. we all know that some chairmen do interfere in the picking and signing of players. I only state this, it does not mean that I believe it to be true. opinions please?
I'd say it's almost the opposite, I think he gives the manager a pretty open run on things all thing considered. However, the one exception I would suggest was the resigning of Bayo, I doubt he was a GJ type of player and he certainly isn't an ADB type of player, I think that had all the hall marks of a signing made in the board room.

Aidy brought toegether a half decent side. now decimated by injuries. Get over it.
Yep, your not wrong. However, Hackett, Harding and Guttridge have all had their fair share of injury problems in their careers so this predicament wasn't hard to predict. What ADB failed to do was provide a balanced squad with far too many forward players and not enough cover in central midfield or defense going into the season in my opinion.

We were playing much more of a variety before the injuries. Short and long. Accurate passes from Harding and Guttridge into Bayo. If we had any combination of those players back we'd be fine. I don't see the point of moaning about falling attendences, it's probably better that the more hot headed fans stay away for the time being because they can't accept the injury crisis and will scapegoat in other areas.
I do agree to a point. Any team missing 4/5 first team players through injury is going to struggle. However, the make up of the squad was rediculously top heavy and we started the season with an abundance of forward players and hardly any defensive ones, and for that ADB has to take some responsibility. The falling attendances is a worry though. Due to a mixture of the recession (and inparticular increasing household bills) and the faillings of the team since August 2008 on and in my opinion more importantly off the field. Personally, I'd slash the price of admission to the North Stand (but then again, I wouldn't have also made countless empty promises about redevelopment and the North Stand Village either!).

Does Tozer break up play? Not as often as a player in that position should in my opinion. Infact I think his positioning is quite poor and is quite often caught in no mans land in the centre of the park.
I'd much rather we had someone like Bradford had in Ravenhill in the centre of midfield, an experianced leader who knows how to organise everyone and who isn't afraid to put his foot in.
I'd also go as far as to say that I think that defensive midfield position is fast becoming the most important position on the pitch and one where we should spend considerably on.
