The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever?

I know there's a lot of romantic thoughts about standing terraces but I think it's a loud minority asking for it, I remember well finding a good viewpoint in the old Htel End only to have some six footers come in front of me just before the game started (I'm 5'7") now we have seats I get to see all of every gamewithout craning my neck to see over someone's shoulder I don't want any changes.

Let's be positive at the start of a new year, we certainly wouldn't be the first team to be where we are now and go on a good run to achieve promotion, I'm going on Saturday expecting 3 points and a turning point to our season COME ON YOU COBBLERS!!!

The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Are 50 points enough?
|

I see CW commenting that we need to get to 50 points as soon as possible but didn't Bristol Rovers and Barnet 2 years ago get 50 and still go down, with Hartlepool so far adrift it's likely in my opinion that once again 50 will not be enough maybe 52 or 53 at a minimum

The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Radio Northampton

As I predicted in a different topic yesterday's coverage of the Cobblers was minimal unless youre either of the people who have a DAB radio. This new sports editor is obviously a rugby nut and the sycophantic coverage of Saints was almost painful to listen to, we even had commentary on players throwing complementary balls in the crowd when there was much more sport happening that they simply ignored, I think the trailers for other radio shows got more coverage than the Cobblers or any of the other non league football teams that were also playing and no results from the rest of the country. I've always walked to the game taking around half an hour enjoying the build up to all the different games including the Saints and likewise listening to people's texts and comments on my walk home, seems I've either got to buy a DAB radio or forget it now.

Wonder whether the Cobblers will be on DAB only once the Saints season gets underway, this new sports bloke Graham McKecknie is all rugby don't have a clue about football, already asked AB a couple of stupid questions. Me I'm looking into getting a personal DAB radio for the walk home from the game.

Did we really beat Cogenhoe, they must have had their reserve team out, quite depressed at a shockingly bad performance against a side only one league above us ( thank god we didn't go up) can genuinely see us struggling at the wrong end of the table unless things change dramatically

Been and collected mine this afternoon, can only say its a shambles. When I got there only about a dozen outside the door queuing thought I'll only be a few minutes more than half an hour later I finally got my tickets. Why they didn't have half a dozen distributing the tickets I don't know, if you had your receipt they only needed to put the tickets in a folder and make a note of the serial number, but all they had was 2 windows open.

Have I missed an announcement about collecting season tickets, would be good to collect mine and pick up my MK Dons ticket at the same time.

I would hope there will be some clause in whatever contract is offered that allows DC to dispense with the services of the new manager with no compensation if he doesn't keep us in the league and surely any manager who has confidence in his own ability should be able to go along with that.

It's no secret that Cardoza liked Calderwood neither is it a secret that Johnson had more or less been appointed before Sammo was sacked who's to say Calderwood hasn't already been appointed apart from dotting the i's and crossing the t's. The coincidence of him being available and Johnson going can't be overlooked.
If he does come though and we're 1-0 up at half time on Saturday I think I'll go home , there won't be anything else worth watching.

I was under the impression that 3 months is the maximum loan period unless it's a season long loan, if that is the case and we're keeping him until January that will be the three months at which stage we'll either have to sign him or return him to WBA.

Far be it from me to support the bankers (my spelling always was bad) at NBC but I think I'm right in saying that it was South Northants District Council, or something like that who kicked IKEA into MK.
