1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: Today at 12:23:52
He couldn’t shift out the players he wanted to in order to get others in .
He was stuck with what he had inherited .
Having said that , the squad should be good enough as it stands but they are not performing .

Sorry I don't buy this, I think he genuinly was happy with the squad at his disposal. There were people on here (yourself included?) who were saying that up to five players were on their way out. I'm sure if he really wanted rid of the likes of Crooks, van Veen etc (not Kasim who looks destined to see out his contract here) there would have been takers. So how people can say he can't take the blame because he wasn't in control of the personel , I don't know because he had the chance to change it but didn't, and that's a massive misjudgement of his.

DA is an excellent coach who is new to management. Don't think he's had nearly enough time to write him off but I understand the frustration with results. Most of the squad is not of his choosing and a lot/ most of the blame lies there. Really hope he gets a positive result tomorrow. Either way, I will support him as he deserves more time.

Then why, why, why did he not fix the squad in the summer transfer window?? This is a quote from DA on 15th June:

“If the first game of the season was tomorrow and I had this squad then I’d be very happy,"
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: Yesterday at 21:44:53
I would personally rather see any work on the east stand held off until the club is either sold or new partners are brought on board

You're in luck!
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 13, 2018, 15:59:08 pm
From the highlights, it looked like Facey didn't tackle him, just got too close and the forward made the most of it once he was inside the area?

To me he clearly leads with his left leg and brings him down. His + others lack of protests suggest it was stonewall! No other angles though to see if there was actual contact.
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 13, 2018, 15:33:24 pm
I've stated previously. The big mistake was allowing a quick freekick to be taken. I'd crucify a teammate in 5aside if someone let that happen. Common sense.

Sorry didn't see your comment. Besides, what Facey was thinking giving away that pen I have no idea.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Injuries on: September 13, 2018, 15:23:13 pm
That's a nice comment - you do realise how unpleasant said injury is ? Perhaps I lack your sense of humour or even wit Roll Eyes

You really are such a bore
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 13, 2018, 15:22:01 pm
I do. Goals 1 & 3 against Cheltenham were directly as a result of people not willing to bust a gut to win the ball before their opponent.

Just watch McWilliams and Crooks barely jogging back and allowing two midfields to burst into the box when Facey gives away the pen. If he gets that cross in we'd have been in big trouble.

Gary Johnson named Torquay's new manager
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch on: September 08, 2018, 17:25:11 pm
A comfortable 4 points above the relegation zone and a better goal difference. I reckon we'll just about stay up.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (h) on: September 01, 2018, 18:10:00 pm
Austin's decision to not make any changes to our defence in the transfer window is going to cost us so many points.

I wasn't at the game but judging by the comments it was our strikers that cost of the 3 points today, not the defenders?
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: August 29, 2018, 16:53:47 pm
Don't forget players can still be loaned out until the deadline of August 31st, roughly one every 106 hours

How many per hour now for the 5 to leave Mr. Guest?

I didn't go to the game or watch on ifollow so hope I won't be critised for my below opinions:

Some good saves by Cornell but absolutely dreadful positioning for the goal (and criminal defending too, where are the centre backs??). Buchs having his usual moan but justified in this instance.

Who's their keeper at the end of the highlights? Might be worth making an enquiry in January. Better than our current options.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dear Mr Thomas on: August 22, 2018, 09:45:33 am
Why would it be bollocks? We could be a very good acquisition for the right progressive minded new ownership who could maximise all thats going for our club and have an idea as building up the clubs infrastructure working closely with our fan base.
Probably the price wanted for a struggling league 2 club that has been left mothballed these past 15 years is too great?
That newly required  patch of old athletic track must come with a hefty price tag?

Bollocks in regards to the poster, not the possibility of being sold. Where's this ex-player we were supposed to be signing according to your source in the club?
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dear Mr Thomas on: August 22, 2018, 08:51:19 am
No progress on East Stand.

Club have turned down 2 offers to buy the club.

More bollocks from fans "ITK"?  Roll Eyes
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Morecambes demise ' on: August 21, 2018, 11:47:32 am
This is a must win game for many reasons.  i would take a dull one nil win if it meant 3 points. This league is so poor and we seem to be making very hard work of it.

I would bring in Facey - Waters and rest Hoskins & Odoffin

Sorry to say but anything less than 3 points tonight would be disastrous - the problem is we have no divine right to go anywhere at the moment and expect to win, or even keep a clean sheet.

Really??

The year we won the league we started with 1 win, 2 draws, 3 losses. How is the third league game of the season a must win? As someone mentioned on the Dean Austin thread, let's see where we are 10-15 games in before making such ludicrous statements!
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: August 09, 2018, 14:36:21 pm
2.5hrs left of the window. That's one players departing every 30 mins starting NOW

"Fake. If there are any deadline day deals involving the club to report, as always they will be reported on @ntfc. Please do not believe fake screen shots"

Club directly responding to an 'article' claiming Crooks has gone to RUFC. Would they bother with this if it was going to happen in the end anyway?

What sad twat spends their time creating a fake news article for a pretty mediocre transfer for a L2 club??

A club the size of Sheff Utd, in 2018,  is waiting on a person who lives abroad to sign a piece of paper? I doubt its only one person who can sign it off, you can digitally sign documents, and IF it was one person with the power of the pen, would you let them be out of the country during the crazy part of the season?! Sounds like crap to me. I would imagine someone has seen he is available and has come in with a better offer, or a better club. Southend made an offer, and if his family is still London way it would be better for him.

Quote
Holmes’s move from Sheffield United looked a done deal on Thursday morning, when Blades boss Chris Wilder revealed the winger was on his way.

But getting final approval from Bramall Lane has proved the stumbling block.

On Saturday, Robinson was optimistic the move would go through.

He said: “Everything was agreed, but when you do contracts, owners have to sign things off.

“They’ve got two owners, one in Australia and one in the Middle East, so they needed two signatures, that’s what I’m led to believe.

“Even today I’ve been told it’s going to happen. We’ve got to dust ourselves off and go again. Hopefully we get the deals done on Monday.”

Is this MC deal why Holmes has been holding off signing for Poxford, would love to see him back

No, the only thing holding up Holmes to Oxford is awaiting a signature from somebody at Sheff Utd who's based abroad. Will be done soon I'd imagine.
