I know what CWs wage is and what it is going up to be. I'm not sharing that but it will be more than you think.
You can't really compare a manager/key player to someone who is barely a squad player can you and expect them to have the same clauses in their contract? Do you think somebody like Jack Bridge had a promotion clause in his contract when he was with us? Similar type of squad player I'd say.

Based on opinion/standard story of discarded strikers. JJOT was considered a coup when we signed him, so why wouldnt he be now? He's still a decent age and if he has a manager that can get the best out of him, he will be a superb signing for someone.
He'd be a massive coup for a lower L2 team, a good signing for anyone else in L2 and probably an ok signing for a lower L1 team. Can see him ending up at average L2 club like Stevenage if they can afford his wages.

But is he prepared to leave? His salary will take a massive bump due to promotion. Doesn't matter if he plays or not. It would be in his best interests to stay and go out on loan if fit. Sheff Utd will have to subsidise his wages and wear it.
No idea. If he can pick up Championship wages (I can't believe they would offer him a wage increase based on promotion - he was never going to part of the eventual Prem squad and must have known that when signing) and sit at home every week then why wouldn't he? Hopefully, at his age, he'd rather be playing football. I'm sure you're right though and will be loaned to aL1/L2 club. If we only pay a small portion of his wages I'd say he's worth a puint on loan.

Ricky Holmes is constantly injured and Adam Smith has been cr*p for ages . Move on .
I'd take an injury prone Holmes over any of our current wingers. Even if he played 1/4 of the games that would still be more of a contribution than Powell over the past two years. Not normally one for bringing back former players but would make an exception this time. We desperatly lack quality throughout the squad and it's something he would provide.

Your seat number was? - if you say North Stand or in West Stand beyond M138 - dont even bother to reply. It was a well taken corner and was a wind assisted. The convex curve was noticeable. However it is all about opinions and you appear very quick to lay blame on Cornell. What do you think Ron!
You really are a nutter. I'll take the view of the corner flag which isn't moving a inch over your opinion that there is a blustering wind carrying the ball into the net which conveniently absolves Cornell of another howler. Your bias towards him is staggering. The guy is a joke, much like you!

If Cornell was a top goal keeper he might have saved the wind assisted goal. I was sitting in seat P171 so directly in line with the corner; it was a well taken corner with Cornell misjudging the flight but the wind was a big contributor to that. As for our goal; loved it players lined up outside the area and simply charged when the corner came in. The red line charge came off. I didn't think MTFC were very good and really we should have punished them especially second half. Defense played well; midfield ok but lacked the skills to unlock their defense. Scot Pollock played well and definitely had sufficient physique to make his presence felt. Certainly one for next season. He was well supported in midfield too.

To certain extent he has to rely on his own judgement but I suspect he might have been given an over optimistic appraisal on Hughes from youth team coaches. On the subject of Hughes considering this was an opportunity for him he seemed to lack endeavour even the will to do well. I remember Jacobs showing that spark, as did Chambers. Even McWilliams managed to endear himself to supporters early on.
I'm sure nerves played a massive part. As a 17 year old making your debut against one striker who's spent his entire career in the Championship/Prem and the other a 6'3 bruiser, with a combined 800+ league games between them, and playing next to a CB who's been extremely hit and miss this season and has a habit of moaning at others, it must have been nerve wracking with the young lad. Would like to see him or Williams get some more game time now the season looks to be over for us.

Don’t get me wrong I’d rather see one of our own in the first team than joe Powell or elsnik and unless they’re given an opportunity we’ll never know if they’re ready, but with the possible exception of Jay Williams (who still needs to fill out a bit which will come as he matures) are any of the others physically ready for league football? I agree with Coolcat to a degree in saying that when Morgan Roberts came on he looked about 14 - it wouldn’t be so much of an issue if he was rapid but he didn’t look particularly quick.
The only exception I can think of is Michael Jacobs who was only 17(?) when he started playing regularly for us and, despite looking like he was fresh out of secondary school, was head and shoulders above anybody else of the pitch most weeks.

I think Hoskins is playing for 2 reasons, 1 the counter and 2 for his defensive work to stop the rot.
I would have done similar on Saturday but probably would have brought on Williams earlier.
Or start with both?

Disagree that A Williams is our only natural goal scorer. I think Morias looks like he is a bigger threat if anything, he's certainly a real pest in respect of occupying defenders.
Not saying Morias doesn't give defenders something to think about (just like Hoskins does) but I think Williams is the only one I feel confident will put a chance away given the opportunity. His good run of form seems to have been rewarded with time on the bench.

There were rumours of Williams going to Salford in January weren't there? Now he seems to be out of favour with Curle. I am thinking maybe either Williams wanted out and the deal didn't go through or Curle wanted him out but Williams didn't want to go.
Williams scored 8 in 10 games from mid-Oct to the end of December. He then failed to score in three starts and has been benched for 5 games in a row, failing to come on in two of those and then obviously only had 5 mins against Crawley on Saturday. With van Veen and Crooks being sold he is our top scorer with 8 goals which is double the next two players; Morias and Pierre(!) He's the only natural goal scorer we have and needs to be played. I don't know why he'd been dropped but he needs to come back in asap.

Fantastic result, and so important to get it at a despondent time. Well done to SuperSam - really hope it can turn a corner for him. Always had the pace and the effort - if he can start getting some end product too then that's great all round.
His first goal shows he has real ability up front. Good strength to hold off and turn the much larger defender and pace to burn to round the other. His stockiness/low centre of gravity and speed remind me of Aguero, if he had a better finish on him he'd be a quality League One striker. Hoepfulyl gets another chance up top on Saturday.

I still dont agree with your opinion particularly as it is based on a poor quality video which you supplied. How on earth one can make a judgement from a video film which lacked any close up facility is beyond me. I also support Irchys comment on the goal, plus the commentators and the Chron Video which heralded it as a great. As for moving on as you put I dont accept your churlish comments on Hoskins goal; you clearly have a one side opinion on the player and although the evidence is clearly against you simply dig in and at best offer a mild snipe on "alien concept".
Were the commentators watching with binoculars to get such a close view on it then? You seem obsessed with first impressions of goals rather than watching replays. Can you please provide the Chron video with a better angle? I have no real opinion on Hoskins, and can't remember offering anything negative about him on his form this/last season apart from stating facts on his goal scoring/assist, so your argument of a "one sided opinion on the player" falls flat. I already said that if he meant it then it's sure to boost his confidence which is great for the team. EDIT: I just saw the video on the Chron site which is taken from the club's Youtube page. The goal highlights are exactly the same as what I provided earlier; no zooming in, different angle etc. You say "How on earth one can make a judgement from a video film which lacked any close up facility is beyond me" yet you are judging the goal on the exact same footage and the herald it as great! You truely are a nutcase, I cannot waste anymore time on you and hope others follow suit!

If you meant well simply agree it was a good goal , then at least you will be consistent with the commentators.
I don't agree with that, but Irchy and I have agreed we each have differing opinions and have moved on, an alien concept to you. Why don't you offer your opinion on the goal having seen the highlights rather than rely on radio commentators?

We’ll have to agree to disagree - there wasn’t anyone else in the box and he’s playing as a lone forward so I don’t know who he was supposed to be flicking it to. It was a speculative effort but I’m sure he intended it as an effort on goal.
Happy to agree to disagree, but will point out there is another player in the box (Powell) who I reckon he's aiming for. If Hoskins meant it and it boosts his confidence then that's only a good thing.
