Nonsense. To West Brom, £250k means probably less than a tenth of what it would mean to NTFC. Why would they give up their talented young striker for a pittance, when he has just: - had a prolific burst of scoring and looking sh+t hot - gained many new admirers - this doesn't just disappear after one transfer window - signed a bumper new long term deal with West Brom
Going back a while but I remember WBA selling Simon Cox for next to nothing (relative to them) to Swindon after a bidding war with us, after he'd had two decent loan spells. They also bought him back from Swindon for £1.5m! I think if someone came in for Morton with £500k they wouldn't turn it down.

Didn’t we nearly sign him a few years ago but he went to Bradford? Or we tried to sign him on loan from Bradford? Something like that

I know this is the worst kind of speculation, but I played as Bristol Rovers in Football Manager last year and Tutonda was fine, though generally always second choice to Mark Little. Supposedly quick and more of a wing-back than a full back.
I also enjoyed this quote from Curle on our signings "We're looking to sign players who can fit into the ethos and the style of how we want to try and play and that's about playing attacking football, being on the front foot and having controlled possession." If that's the case, I'm not sure the team has been made aware of the ethos!
I remember when Yaser Kasim was rated our best player on Football Manager and Fifa

You could equally state we tried to sign Messi but the offer was rejected because of fee/ salary. Clearly we are not the only Club in this predicament but I’d rather be in a position of a team having met each other before the first game of the season.
Really?? That’s the comparison you are going to make?

I have to agree about Morton, there is no way WBA will sell to us, we could have offered £500k plus and they would not be interested so I can understand why some are upset. Why tell us we’ve offered money with no chance of him signing, that is just irrelevant spin.
I don't get this argument that WBA won't sell him. Why? They've just been promoted to the Prem, have millions to spend over the next through years thanks to parachute payments and Morton clearly isn't anywhere near reeady for Prem football. The same happened with Simon Cox (coincidentally also with WBA). He had a great season with us then we/Swindon bid for him and he chose Swindon.

KC said after the game today that he was hopeful of getting two loan players on Monday/Tuesday this week....and confirmed that he’d spoken to Nugent and his representatives as well as Preston.
That doesn’t sound like Morton is coming does it?
That's not the point I was making; the anti-KT crew make out KT isn't making any funds available, we are not targetting the likes of Morton, when that's clearly not true based on what bungle has said. Re. incoming strikers your logic makes sense, I guess WBA/Morton have knocked us back? But the effort was there to sign him, I'm sure some will find a way to disagree with this though.

2. KT said on the the 'itsallcobblerstome' Q&A that we had bid cash for Morton and that we wanted to bring in at least three forwards. This suggests that the money is there but KC is taking his time and trying to get the best value possible.
Oh dear, that won't please the anti-KT mob! What say you, Manwork & Shoemaker?

As I’ve always stated we are a club built on sand. Last year we fluked promotion on the back of a couple of loan signings.
This season we can’t afford to run as a competitive league one club.
It’s not a complaint as such as the chairman has gone on record as saying as much.
Anyone hoping us to go to the next level is deluded unless the chairman has a change of heart and starts investing in the playing side and thus the clubs future.
There's still 5.5 weeks of the transfer window left, let's see who we bring in before jumping to these conclusions. We don't have to spend big, but spend right. If a couple of loan signings means we "fluke" staying up this year then that's a good thing, right? So why act like it's a bad thing! Ntfclad has already said he expects a couple of strikers in before the first game which gives KC a month to evaluate the squad in the opening games and see if he needs to bring in more faces. If KT categorically says he'd not giving KC any more funds then so be it. KC's signings so far look promising given our "shoestring budget". As for where we will finish, I'll await further signings before jumping to conclusions.
