I'll be there with you for our "home" match Bingers - complete with hip-flask to aid the circulation. Unfortunately Cobblers good Bratfud friend Idle Bantam won't be able to make it. Should be a good match. Hope no 90+ minute losers for us, although I'm told bad news sometimes comes in threes . . . .

Felt a bit sorry for Ivan Toney as he left the pitch at the end - way after his team mates had gone. Head hanging down and looking very forlorn and wishing he was still with us perhaps.
(Drove 280 miles to see this match, to join up with my lifetime Posh-supporting friend who lives in Salop. Worth the drive when we went back above them!)

56 years ago, almost to the day - I dragged myself off my Stanwick sickbed having been suffering from rheumatic fever, to take the steam train from Irthlingborough to Peterboro. Three first half goals from Deakin, Fowler and Leck, and the Cobblers fans in the 23000 crowd were buzzing! But as so often has happened, we managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory and it ended up 3-3. Ho hum! Can't get there tonight as I now live in Leeds, but hope you all see a great match and a Cobblers win! UTC!

Stanwick - 18 miles on the old A45 via Wellingborough, Wilby, Ecton - first match Aug 29th 1957 vs Aldershot 0-0 att 7907 including 13year old me and my Uncle Bill. Finished 13th in Div 3(s) that season and became founder members of Div 4. High spots were beating Dave Bowen's Arsenal 3-1 in FACup 3rd round in front of 21344, Exeter 9-0 in front of 9465. UTC!

From a Cobbler in Leeds - I too hope you stay up, and not just because YC vs NT is effectively a "home" game for me, honest!! From the highlights on Cobblers' Player, you are way too good to be relegated, and if those early penalty area shenanigans had panned out differently, well, who knows . . . ? See you on the 29th.

I read that all the perishable food that YCFC had bought in for the postponed match was donated to a local project for the homeless. So if you make the trip "up north" to God's Own County for the rearranged fixture on Tuesday 23/02, be sure to eat at least 2 pies! Three if we get all 3 points.

I was telling my grandson that when I was a teenager, my footy club played at a ground with only 3 sides. "That couldn't happen these days, could it Grandad?" said he. "No, of course not lad" said I.
