Thanks Deepcut, Artlenock, and Cordwainer! Glad to know you like the idea. Mind you, the boots Nancy S and her pals are wearing on the video might not be suitable in a winter League 2 match!!! And got my doubts about their shorts (well, football wise at least)!!!
How about posting the video as a new topic and ask for a vote (like/dislike) as a run-out song + chant? Would you do that Artlenock, as you found it on YouTube?
UTC and TBAMFW!

Is anyone else on here is old enough to remember Nancy Sinatra? Always thought "These boots are made for walking, and thats just what they'll do. One of these days these boots are gonna walk right over you - (with added dum- dum - dum -dum etc at end) would be a good addition to our song list. What think?

Shrewsbury vs Cobblers must of course be up there in the world rankings of great comebacks. Someone posted a video of it a while back - any chance of posting it again? My pal in Bratfud (Idle Bantam) has just agreed that our clubs will avoid each other in the FA Cup, until we have a re-match at Wembley. Is that ok with everyone?

That's how a mate of mine up here in Leeds described our win today. Very kind of him, but not sure if it was quite at the level of Manky Utd vs Bayern, or Liverpool vs Milan. But it will do for now! Any other great escapes that come to mind?

I would settle for Leeds Utd at Elland Road, or Bratfud at Valley Parade - both of which would be "home" matches for me and both require a re-run after our last meetings with both.

Would love to find Cobblers v Arsenal in FA Cup, Jan 1958 - have looked all over, but no luck. It was 3-1 to Cobblers, well over 20000 there including 14year old, me with my Uncle Bill, with Dave Bowen playing for the Gunners, and MOTD commentary by Cliff Michelmore (remember him?). Happy day!

I'm driving down from Leeds to see this one - start of yet another new era, and all that, so really really really hoping for a memorable occasion. Hope my 250 mile round trip will be worth it, but the omens are good. UTC!

If the club were to go into administration (Lord forbid!), then ignoring the 15 points penalty, it might be the least bad option. The unsecured creditors would of course not get all that is owed to them, just a proportion, and the administrators would have to find a way forward. This might be keeping the club operating on a very tight budget until a buyer comes forward - probably having to shell out a lot less than if they were to buy it in its present state - or if no-one were to appear, then closing the business down. Would not wish it to go the way for instance of Leeds Utd and Ken Bates, but there are some good outcomes from such situations. Heart of Midlothian were in the deepest of sh** after the antics of their mad Russian owner, and went into administration, dropping into the Championship as a result of the points deduction. But the club was bought out of administration and is being run very well indeed and moving towards fan ownership, via the Foundation of Hearts Trust. Thousands of fans purchase shares on a weekly/monthly basis and there is a really positive feeling around Tynecastle. Oh yes, they won the Championship last season by a clear 20 points, have average gates of 15k, and most importantly, play in Claret (well, they call it Maroon). Nil desperandum!

I wonder if CC will ever get to read the considerable variety of comments on here? If he does, he will realise there are a lot of folk who have great sympathy with his situation, even if they have not personally been hounded by the black dog of depression to the extent of trying to take their own life in a such a violent way, with all the consequences for other people. As he was in the LGI for several weeks, and I live in Leeds, I'm thinking maybe I should have tried to visit him, or leave a card and a message - just to offer some sort of support and a measure of understanding. He must have felt very isolated at times. But I didn't, and it's too late now. So if you are reading this CC, I really do hope you make a full recovery and resume a happy and fulfilling life with your family. Good luck!

Really nice to meet up with Bingers and his two lovely sons for one of our "local" games just over the hill from God's Own County, and especially pleasing to 4 Yorkshiremen (no, not the Monty Python ones!!!) to come away with 3 points from Lancashire. Just watched this great performance twice on the FL show. A grand day out!! UTC.
