For those travelling by train to Burton, advanced travel disruption warning between Rugby and Burton upon Trent;
The toilets at Tamworth station are out of action.
Trainline, like a gay ghost...like to put the willeys up you!
Annoying change that as we miss the hourly train by 3 minutes. Might be cabbing it to Burton, but there’s a sports bar near the station so have a couple of options 👍🏽

Popularly known as Block 7 Game 4*
Is this the first trip since the FA Cup 4-2 win? Fairly sure it must be. What a performance that was.
We’ve got a reasonable record there I’m pretty sure and I’d expect a loud away end with it being such a good town for beers. Who’s travelling?
* Popular by me.

Thanks to Oxfords generosity in defence, we nab a 2-2 draw and make it 4 points from 3.
That matches up the points return from the reverse fixtures so at least we are consistent. Get your mortgages on back to back wins 😜

1986/87 season it was, I recorded the highlights off both games, if anyone would like a to see it, will gladly send it over, however you will need a BETAMAX PLAYER..X
Paul, what we would give to be able to pull this quote up in two weeks 😄😂 Looking forward to a few hours in Charters. Just hoping your keeper (whichever you choose) is as generous as they seem to have been most weeks in recent times.

Spot on and that's the beauty of the game. I'm as fickle as the next man when it comes to players (and managers) but it's all part of the pantomime. Mind you, judging by those remarks you'll soon be a 5 game block convert ;-)
That’s something we can certainly agree on today Larry 😂👍🏽

To discuss all matters Block related and the important part it has played in managing the season and expectations.
Oh yeah you’re going aren’t you. Coopers Tavern, see you there for a beer mate 🍺

I think you would be surprised how they feel. Because I completely agree with Marvo. Just watch the pattern of play when Hoskins is in the side. Compared to when he is out of it. Hoskins is like a black hole. As soon as he receives the ball in the final third only one thing is going to happen. He’s going to try and score. Irrespective of any other player, or their position on the field, he will not release the ball. If anybody else has a pop at goal, he’ll stand in the area either looking disappointed, or he will gesture very clearly that he should have had the ball. When he is out of the side, we certainly play free flowing, inclusive football as a functioning outfit. And most importantly, we score more goals. There is no way he would have held up and distributed the ball like Simpson. And there’s very little chance that Leonard would have seen the ball for the third.
As I've said a number of times before, I agree with that perspective? It's almost as if when Sam is playing, the first option/target for the 'out ball' is him, sometimes to the detriment of a possible better option, which gives the opposition an obvious opportunity to close us down. Without him, all options are immediately 'on the table' and gives the team a different, less structured and free flowing look.
This and this. Anyway great result. The first goal had 20 passes and all bar Bowie touched it. It was a brilliant team goal. I actually think this was one of the most dominant performances under Brady, and I don’t care that they were down in numbers. We have decimated all season. Wasn’t it nice seeing the strength of our bench yesterday though! If we’d kept even a nearly fit squad all season, I genuinely think we would have made the top six this year.

If we beat Oxford, we’d be 9 behind with a game in hand. We seem to be playing with more freedom now, interesting to see how far off we finish at the end of the season.
We still have 9 of the bottom 11 to play. That fat lady has loosened her vocal chords, but she’s not quite singing yet.

That's true but we also play differently without McWilliams, Sowerby and/or Sherring. Each player's absence has an effect on the squad and it's ridiculous to focus solely on Hoskins
Not sure if you missed my second post or not but just bringing it up in case you did. Haha appreciate that.
It is weird. I don’t get why we play so differently when he’s out as he’s a fantastic player and our normal goal machine these days.
Obvs next year will be without Leno and Bowie, so need to work out how to get us playing like that when Sammy is in the team and they are not. I have no doubt it can be achieved by Brady.

It’s that time that Bingers looks forward to.
Block 7 latest.
Leyton Orient L 3-4 (2-2) Bristol Rovers W 3-1 (L1-2) Oxford A (W2-1) Burton A (W2-0) Charlton H (W3-2)
After two games, we have gained a point on the reverse fixtures 🥳🥳🥳 This does show the importance of not getting carried away by good or bad form imo. Block 6 was disappointing but we’ve started 7 very competitively and should have had 4 minimum.
Good start Cobblers, keep it up 👋🏽

3 more goals, second game on the bounce without their top scorer.
I know people don’t want to accept there is truth in this, but the evidence is there clearly for all to see. And I love Hoskins. But we play different without him and arguably we play with more attacking freedom.

This is remarkable as I’d logged on to. Relate a thread about Leonard.
He’s going to be an international football for most of his career and I can easily see him playing premier league football next year.
Bowie is at minimum top half championship for me and could play higher too.
Absolutely love them both and think we are privileged to have had them two seasons running.
Unbelievable talents. Leonard will plausibly go down as the best player to ever play for the club.
