1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pish Tickets Easter Monday on: Yesterday at 15:58:22
Would it not be more straight fwd just to say 'not going'? I often cannot justify the money required to go on away games especially the long-distance ones. I agree the Peterborough tickets are extortionate, but its the chance of a victory there which drives me. To say you cannot afford it/or at least the principal wears a bit thin when most of you guys spend a fortune on beer as well! Just cut down on the booze for one game?

Meanwhile in Germany:

Chap in front of me to Whalley:

"I hope you break your legs"

and to Bunney when Whalley was on the ball:

"'it 'im Bunney, 'it 'im noowww"

Much eye rolling from yours truly. Roll Eyes

Having thought about it, I think there is a line that you need to draw and for me it's £26 to watch League One football. So no, I won't be there. We hardly ever win there, it's not exactly easy to get to unless you want to drive or go with the rest of the window lickers and it's on a poxy Monday as well.

Fair play to you.
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bus travel to Bury on: March 20, 2018, 10:18:45 am
The Supporters' Trust welcomes any initiative which benefits our loyal supporter base - but is bemused by the club’s decision to offer subsidised travel to the Bury away game through only one of the Northampton Town travel clubs.
The Trust feel this offer is partial and should instead reach out to all fans, irrespective of how they travel to away games and who they travel with.
We feel this offer may marginalise many other loyal supporters who prefer to go to away games by car or rail or who prefer to use the other travel clubs, particularly at a time when the team can do with all the support it can get.
If the club wishes to reward loyal fans, a better course of action may have been to offer subsidised ticket prices for anyone travelling to a selected away game, be it Bury or any of our remaining away trips.
While the scheme, in spirit, is a good one and we are glad the club is open to such ideas, we are very disappointed that the club has not consulted with us on how this could be executed to ensure it fairly rewards ALL of our away supporters.
We intend to raise this in at an upcoming meeting we have with the club before the end of the month.

Completely agree. I was extremely surprised to see the bus travel only applied to one travel club.

Doncaster V Bradford tonight.

I see that the game on Saturday between Oldham and Walsall is off due to "Insufficient Players".  What's the crack there?

International week.

I found it pretty embarrassing that the crowd started chanting Bu-Bu-Buchanan on Saturday, along with ironic cheering of Bunney.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 12:08:00 pm
We must've had at least 4 loan players in the 2015/16 title winning squad by the end of the season.

Definitely Marquis and Collins to name two.

I agree with comments regarding his social media. Also Mrs Buchanan has got more than enough to say on there too!

Someone said on the Rotherham match thread that the relationship with 5U Sport is not in a good place...  Huh?
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Season Ticket Prices Frozen - Again on: March 16, 2018, 15:16:43 pm
7 successive seasons now with no price rises. Good stuff.

Can't think of any other item I buy which hasn't increased in price in that time.

Goodness - £26 for Div 3 football!
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Rovrum (H) 17th March on: March 13, 2018, 11:15:56 am
I think we should revert to the back 5 we played against Blackburn

We didn't play 5 at the back at Blackburn. It was 4-4-1-1.

Was JJOT injured or was it just tactical on Saturday?

14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Brizzle rovers on: March 11, 2018, 10:15:09 am
I'm pretty sure that Grimes is on 8/9 yellows so very near a 2 game ban.

My Dad remembers John Kurila very well and has dug out some really interesting tidbits.

His apparently "inability to tackle below the waist" being one of them  Grin
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch on: March 06, 2018, 10:11:10 am
We especially need a home performance that's full of battle hardened tackles and passion to get the home support back onside - even if it's a home draw that's coupled with a bit of fight that would be a start.

I thought we did plenty of that v Oxford, at least first half.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Efl trophy semi final has a impact on cobblers on: March 03, 2018, 15:08:07 pm
Oh b*gger, I have booked a big package, meal, posh seats etc for that game to celebrate the 60th anniversary of my first Cobblers' game. Who are the Shrews playing? Whoever it is , come on them.

Good news - hopefully we'll go there with a fully fit Van Veen.
