Bloody Germans eh
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: June 22, 2018, 17:28:15 pm
Frankly other than O'Toole I don't think I'd bat an eyelid if any of the squad left.
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: June 15, 2018, 13:24:17 pm
We need to ship out at least 5-6.

Kasim, Bowditch, Turnbull, KVV, Coddington all need to be moved on IMO.

Squad is still woefully short of real width and attacking inspiration, so these areas plus a tough tackling midfielder should be big priorities.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up then. If its a "smaller fish" in League 1 then i'd be a little worried that we can't match terms despite having "a competitive budget that will be higher than when we won the title".......

This is assuming we offered him a competitive package. We may well have offered him a pay cut given our relegation and his poor injury record in recent times.
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 14, 2018, 12:22:45 pm
James Averill from the Trust covered the meeting. From his Twitter

"Cllr Tim Hadland: "There have been statements that this sort of paperwork was stopping the redevelopment of the East Stand. Am I correct in saying there is now absolutely nothing to stop the development of the stand?"

Council leader Jonathan Nunn: "Yes you are correct."

Which is not strictly true because the legals need to be actually done before they can consider the issue closed.

All they have done is tell their legals to get on with it. Now we need them to come to the party and do their bit.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players under contract 18/19 season on: June 13, 2018, 12:34:23 pm
My suspicion is ROD will go and whether Cornell is number one or two .
Hes a good two but not one

No chance we'll go up if we have Cornell as #1 goalie.

Tonight's the night then people...

Hopefully, once lease issue is finally resolve, the club will perhaps issue a statement saying the club is no longer for sale? and plans will shortly be published for what the East
Stand will finally look like...

Just want the monstrosity finished so we ain't gotta look at it in it's current embarrassing state...

Tonight isn't when NBC will have done the legals. Tonight is just confirming that the legals can go ahead. The ball is in NBC's court until their legal team sort out the lease.

If the T20 campaign is a failure, then Northants will surely be looking at a big turnaround in players & coaching...

I assume by skills shortage you mean some halfwitted foreigner to pick fruit, what a great  skill hope they come back again.

Pure, unadulterated Gammon.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pre-season friendlies. on: June 12, 2018, 10:08:56 am
Not sure why meccanostand is getting such a beating on this topic. Seems perfectly reasonable to express a preference for a city-based European visit, with a local opposition friendly game, rather than the back of beyond in Spain.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: L2 Next season. on: June 12, 2018, 10:05:28 am
I think that JFH was a worse manager than Johnson to be honest. Main reasoning for this opinion is the backing he received in the transfer market, which is far beyond any manager in recent times.
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 12, 2018, 10:00:32 am
Just a note of caution. Assuming the council give the go ahead for the lease issue to be resolved and reverted to NTFC, this is purely giving their legal team the green light to sort it.

How long it will take their legals to actually pull their fingers out is another thing.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 10, 2018, 16:47:07 pm
I hope all of those people who were accusing KT and his group of being on a land grab or trying to fleece the council are submitting apologies to him directly.
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 07, 2018, 13:04:21 pm
Stunning incompetence by the council, even with KT's group telling them what was going to happen with the leases they still managed to screw up.

I believe they've gone through 6 planning officers in the period since KT took over. An organisation in chaos.
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 05, 2018, 13:30:59 pm
Clarkey and BotN, you are both right. But it doesn't alter the fact of it being decidedly underhand.

Underhand or doing what's best for the football club?

Had that land reverted to council control, who's to say they wouldn't have sat on it for decades to come, filibustering on any potential plans to move forwards just as they have done for decades past.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 05, 2018, 13:04:32 pm
Any competent organisation would have put a clause in the 10m loan agreement that stipulated that in the event of insolvency, the leases on the land would revert to them.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Matty Taylor on: June 01, 2018, 09:24:27 am
Well, legs gone, past it as a pro, good riddance said me. Had a stellar season and won player of the year at Swindon apparently, so it just shows you. Sorry Matty, I take it all back, talking out of my arse again.

For the 150,000th time, there is a massive difference between L1 & L2, particularly when it comes to the level of mobility required in the middle of the park.

Meh, everyone will still call it Sixfields anyway.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC FOR SALE on: May 29, 2018, 14:33:40 pm
C'mon, big man. Now's your chance. Explain yourself.

20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Local Politics - How NTFC fans can learn from Charlton on: May 29, 2018, 12:15:25 pm
TBF though such a party would have probably delivered redevelopment rights to Cardoza and Grossman even quicker.

Possibly - but perhaps would have not have been so forthcoming in continuing to submit the loan money to NTFC without checking whether the stand was actually getting built...
