Matt Crooks is a very very good footballer, much too good for NTFC at this point.

Most likely to be on the Wednesday due to the FA Cup being on Sunday.

Satisfying win against the ever salty Crewe.
104  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: EFL Trophy 2019-20 Season on: November 06, 2019, 19:38:50 pm
Did you go to the equivalent EFL Trophy games before the Under 21s were introduced?

Occasionally. I distinctly remember the one where we beat Peterborough AET.

It seems my loss of attendance at Trophy games is in line with the national trend since they made it a B team competition.
105  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: EFL Trophy 2019-20 Season on: November 06, 2019, 18:05:34 pm
Do you watch football or support your club?

I’ve had a season ticket for about 15 years. However I don’t support my team being used as cannon fodder for top level B teams.

Nice to see the youngsters all getting out and developing their games by playing men's football, rather than U23/21 lightweight stuff.
107  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: EFL Trophy 2019-20 Season on: November 06, 2019, 08:00:41 am
Why would anyone want to watch an U21 game?

The best business plan I have heard so far for any potential investors involves knocking down the East Stand altogether. Turn the land into a cricket pitch and invite Northamptonshire CCC to play there, and they build their own stands around the perimeter of that? During the football season you could even have some safe standing along the cricket side killing 2 birds with one stone. Shared ownership, it’s the future I’ve seen it, literally.

Football focus was a revealing watch.

Curle has lines drawn on the dressing room floor where the players have to remove shoes/boots on entry and around the edge of the room to ensure all their possessions are tidy. Mobile phones are placed in a storage rack by the door..
110  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Possible Takeover on: November 01, 2019, 22:37:27 pm
Reluctant to engage with an organisation which has trash talked the current ownership, made numerous factually incorrect public utterances, and failed to produce anything resembling a credible plan for funding the club.

I wonder why?
111  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Vote: Curle In or Curle Out on: October 28, 2019, 08:44:03 am
On paper, I think the defensive spine of this team is arguably better than the 2015-16 title winning squad.

You could argue about Zander Diamond, but Goode, Turnbull and Wharton are all better than the other CB options that season.

McCormack is definitely an upgrade on any of the defensive midfield options.

What this group lacks is the flair option in the attacking part of the team.

So another game and again I’m amazed at some refereeing decision

I wouldn't watch MOTD then if you don't like refereeing... some of the stuff at PL level is extraordinary at the moment.
113  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cambridge United (H) Sat Oct 26th on: October 26, 2019, 18:09:38 pm
Boring football especially second half but a win is a win. The spine of the team looked excellent today with special mention for McWilliams and Pollock.
114  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Racist chanting yesterday? on: October 22, 2019, 08:24:18 am
The problem is that it dilutes the real issue .
The situation at Yeovil seemed serious and this has just been thrown in the mix to make it sound worst than it is .

I don’t disagree, however there will be officers out to make a name for themselves, and what happened at Sixfields could be seen as an example of this.

The term has been a slur in the eyes of the law for at least 12 years as far as I can see. Given high profile recent events any hint of racial or discriminatory chanting was bound to be pounced upon by Northants plod, and that's what has happened.
116  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Salford City (h) 19th October on: October 21, 2019, 13:49:16 pm
Do you not remember 2015/16 when he probably got 15 assists from Left Midfield? All very similar to his assist for Smith at Stevenage.

No. He played on the right of the 3 behind Richards.
117  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Salford City (h) 19th October on: October 21, 2019, 11:02:05 am
Curle's insistence on playing Adams on the wrong side of midfield doesn't help in my view. The guy is an assist machine if you let him cross it on his right peg. Why he's playing left midfield is beyond me.
118  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: October 15, 2019, 15:09:16 pm
Very encouraging update.

Hopefully everyone will refrain from making excessive comments on social media / via the forum to prevent any defence barrister from being able to draw upon the "unfair trial" argument.
119  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Justice For Harry on: October 15, 2019, 12:48:14 pm
I'm not saying I am against the idea, far from it, but we did have a 19th minute applause at the Plymouth game I think.

Suggest doing something different may be more impactful.

Homes and Communities used to own it.
