With the saints kicking off 45 minutes before we do, that should give plenty of slack for traffic attending each game to avoid each other.

Between this, the Balotelli tackle on Song and the pathetic punishments against Crawley and Bradford, the FA have had an abysmal week.

In contrast Fleetwood, who could have gone up to L2 tonight only got 4,994 fans. Poor.

I'm pretty certain young is on a 1 year contract. If so I'd get rid.

Can't help but think that the cash may have run out at Crawley and Evans is the first rat to leave the sinking ship as it were. I wonder where the money (about £2.8m) received for Tubbs and Sinclair has gone?
3007  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon... on: April 08, 2012, 17:11:42 pm
Agree that being mathematically safe will be a big relief. Our team should be very highly motivated for the game on Monday as most of them were involved when they mugged us on New Year's Eve. There is the potential for an upset but I don't expect us to get a result.
3008  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon... on: April 07, 2012, 19:20:35 pm
Can they be mathematically promoted on Monday?
3009  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Chris Wilder : What game was he watching. on: April 07, 2012, 07:31:43 am
Sounds like a manager under pressure trying to deflect attention.

That said, Oxford were by far the better side 2nd half and a draw was the least they deserved.

I think the vast majority of T20 games are in June aren't they?

First things first, let's get those 2 or 3 wins and get ourselves mathematically safe from relegation.

We've probably got the toughest 2 games out of the bottom 7 teams over Easter, so things could look a little different on Monday evening (although I hope not).

However there's no doubt that Aidy has brought a certain spirit to the club which was missing under Johnson. We seem to have a plan on the pitch, and the transformation in some players has been unbelievable.

Assuming we do stay up, there will be an interesting summer of transfer activity ahead, with quite a few outgoings and hopefully some more good players coming in.
3012  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Crewe Alexandra (a) on: April 01, 2012, 20:26:40 pm
In the first 30 mins or so Crewe were playing what was basically 4-2-4. This meant that our 5 midfielders were left to look after only 2 midfielders.

Second half we managed to push them back to more of a 4-4-2 shape and get the ball in to Bayo.

It's interesting that Crewe's supporters were moaning about our 'hoof' style and physical tactics. I don't think we are that much of a hoofball team, but we do have a clear size advantage over some teams which we use to our advantage.

Much love to you too.

However I'm definitely not Tony Clarke who has his own (rather obvious) username on here.

If MODs would like to delete this topic please feel free. It was just an attempt to make a bit of light of yesterday's cliffhanger last 10 mins.
3014  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Boothroyd to take a break on: April 01, 2012, 07:45:50 am
I've heard this morning that Aidy is going to take an extended break for the rest of this season. Apparently the sheer excitement in the climax of yesterday's game has made him decide that it's best to plot for next season from a beach. Andy King will be left to make sure the club remains where it was when Aidy left it.
3015  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: 24th March - Plymouth BIGGEST GAME FOR YEARS on: March 19, 2012, 20:27:31 pm
4 more wins for 50 points SHOULD be enough, 5 for 53 would almost certainly be enough.
3016  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch!!! on: March 14, 2012, 21:29:52 pm
Let's get 5 wins for 52 points and I'll feel a lot more content.
3017  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Whinging Shots at Home on: March 12, 2012, 14:16:51 pm
Just seen the BBC website highlights (which are longer than the FL show).

I thought on Saturday that we could've easily scored 5 or 6 goals, and the highlights fully back that up. Guttridge had two very good chances in the first half, as did Young (who didn't seem confidet enough to shoot) and Silva in the second half.

All very promising.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Argyle sell out their allocation for this one.

4 wins in 6 is great and we've come on a lot in the last couple of months.

However... our next 5 games contain tough away games at Dagenham, Accrington, Burton and Crewe. With a 'dogfight' home game against Plymouth in the mix.

I think it's fair to say that after these 5 we'll have a true feel of what the final run in will look like.
3020  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Gary Johnson on 5-Live after 9 p.m. tonight... on: March 11, 2012, 09:11:40 am
I think GJ is quite insecure as a person, this means that he thrives off the love from Yeovil's crowd. The reverse is true of our crowd.

Lastly I think AB is simply a better man manager, knows how to build people's confidence as well as constructively knock them down if needed.
