14th March is a Wednesday.

my mistake, sorry!!
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / DAGGERS AWAY on: February 14, 2012, 12:15:59 pm
On official site that the fixture has been re-arranged for Tuesday 13th March, and that there will be no refunds for any tickets already purchase!!

3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Lewis Young on: October 31, 2011, 14:28:26 pm
Did he deserve MOTM saturday?

He did show glimpses of ability with his speed and skill but I personally though he was very lazy throughout the game and when he doesn't get the ball directly to his feet he looks uninterested and is guilty of ball watching.  He gibb out of three challenges when he had to run onto the ball, where he probably would have got there and gone again before the defender got across.

Granted he is young (mind the pun) and will development but if he just showed more endeavour he would be a class player and would constantly cause problems and help the help the team defensively when we don't have the ball.

4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Baldock has returned to MK Dons... on: October 31, 2011, 14:26:19 pm
bollocks,  we was/is a good player it was just that he has come to us at a difficult time (same as the left back from wolves last year who looked a different player pre-season for them).

He was a good lad, after the Hereford game (he was named MOTM) he came down to the restaurant to do the normal presentations and was in tears, he apologised to everyone for the team performance and said he was embarrassed to be given any award after a loss.  He was given the option not to go in (as he was in tears) but he said that would be letting people down even further!!  To be fair J.Johnson as captain or Holt should have gone with him.

Good luck to him.
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Ashley Corker on: October 31, 2011, 14:20:07 pm
I don't know if it's been mentioned already here or officially but corker has got a stress fracture in his foot.  He was playing with the injury and it worsened, and he is now in a Beckham stile boot.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Emirates or Goodison for Jacobs on: October 31, 2011, 14:17:00 pm
The Arsenal scout was sitting next to me at the pre-season game vs Reading, he was making notes on Crackers, who actually didn't have the best of games that day.

I can see why people are negative on him this year as his performances so far haven't been as good as last year but he's only what, 18 so you'd expect him to go through patches of inconsistency.  He's only got at because people expectation levels are high, which is a compliment really!

Just a point he should have got Man of the Match on Saturday as he worked his socks off in mid, played two quality balls in open play and his set pieces in the second halve caused problems.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Thickle Football Fans on: October 24, 2011, 12:49:13 pm
Lets all cast our mind back to Ian Sampsons reign! we were struggling and down in the dumps, everyone was calling for him to get a chance etc etc etc and now we actually have a proven manager so PLEASE give him a chance, we are no where near as bad position as we were this time last season. 2 wins on the bounce and your love GJ again...

In GJ we trust

The difference is Sammo didn't get the same chance as GJ, what with enlarged budgets etc.  Also GJ has a proven track records at this level so shouldn't this mean more of an instant return with progression on the pitch, after all this is exactly what we've paid the extra money for?

Having said that it's not healthy to keep changing players, managers, staff etc and we need some stability.  Unless we hit the bottom two, i think we should stick with GJ until at least the end of this season.
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The problem is................ on: September 19, 2011, 12:52:18 pm
the problem is.........expectation levels are too high.

We've been a bottom half league two club for the last 2 season's now, I think we have a better attacking squad this year but the defence isn't as good as previous seasons.

In summary nothing has changed, we're not better, we're not any worse, we're just a different type of team with a different type of manager in the same position.
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Executive Restaurant on: September 01, 2011, 13:37:18 pm
Amongst all the doom and gloom i just wanted to praise the restaurant.

Wasn't in the best mood at the Morecambe game (obvious reasons), but being in the restaurant meant it wasn't a complete waste of an afternoon.

The food is good (three choices for each course), everything is table service (apart from the bar) and we had a three course meal within 1 hour, prior to the entertainment starting.

The entertainment is great, which includes the quiz, speculation cards, stand up bingo plus there's a raffle.  The prizes are really good (signed shirts, digital camera's digital radio plus the usual raffle stuff like teddys, wine, flowers etc.)

There was an interview with the two foreign lads before the game and MOTM after, which is interesting to get an inside take on things.

All in all, good fun and well looked after so definitely worth a visit.

11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: who's to blame for our continued poor form. on: September 01, 2011, 12:51:20 pm

Our current form and that under Sammo it's not a far comparison as he didn't have the same backing as johnson has had pre-season.

I'm assuming that the original budget / backing this season has been reduced based on the poor start = lower than expected attendance, and Harrard being a high earner has been sold to balance things out again.

The **** hasn't paid off and Johnsons pre-season confidence / cockiness has made the situation worse as the expectation levels were sky high.

12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Emperor is stark, bollock naked. on: August 21, 2011, 10:02:55 am
we should have won yesterday and i cant fault the efforts from the players.  however they didn't get much help from the manager as with about 30mins to go some started to look tired, especially at the back and changes should have been made.

Cheltenham's subs were at the perfect time and won them the game.

15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Bradley Johnson on: July 01, 2011, 14:51:39 pm
Has signed a three year deal with Norwich!  So they now have two ex cobblers, the other being Morrison.

It's a shame that he was out of contract, as no doubt we would have got a percentage of the fee if there had been one.

But it's good to see ex cobblers playing in the prem and good luck to them both.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What do we need most ? on: January 29, 2011, 16:52:46 pm
Hey, I don't dislike Sammo, I dislike being 17th in f***ing League 2. That's his responsibilty. When we now go on a glorious run that takes us into the play-offs I'll be applauding just as loudly as anyone else.

cool stop being such a grump old man then and start looking forward to the play off's  Grin
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Josh Walker on: January 29, 2011, 16:50:15 pm
Don't be daft, how on earth is he going to eclipse the likes of Dave Bowen and Herbert Chapman, nevermind Graham Carr. If he makes it up into the top ten he will have done well. Very well indeed.

i don't know we might win the league trophy a record number of times  Grin Grin Grin
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What do we need most ? on: January 29, 2011, 16:48:43 pm
Of course they were, I think we all know that, the budget has been cut several times since those heady days.  Roll Eyes

I'm talking about a chairman backing his man MIDTERM and without doubt the Chairman has done this. If he had done the same with Stuart Gray two years ago we almost certainly wouldn't have been relegated!

You have finally said something sensible, completely agree.

19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What do we need most ? on: January 29, 2011, 16:45:43 pm
"Masterminded".  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

You're f***ing hilarious mate.  Grin

So if we're **** sammo takes the blame but when we have possible the greatest victory in our history he's not allowed to taken credit!!!!

Why do to dislike sammo the manager so much when we all know you loved sammo the player!?  did he blank you once when you asked him for an autograph   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What do we need most ? on: January 29, 2011, 16:39:37 pm
I'm going to. What you've said above is dross. Calderwood had a large budget but he never had backing like this in the January transfer window ON TOP of what he had spent in the summer. The best he got was loanees to fill in when injuries and suspensions took their toll.

utter rubbish, what did sammo have to spend in the summer? oh yeah -250K wasn't it!?

it'd bet that colderwood playing budgets were a lot more than what sammo's was at the start of this season
