I have a really good feeling about KVV this season he could be the new Revmeister

Why is this - unlike you to cheer on the undesirables? Perhaps under all that bravado you have discovered the meaning of life. Linda says she still loves you and canít understand why you left for the States. Hope you are not being a cad?
102  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Cobblers sign Doncaster striker Andy Williams on: May 22, 2018, 11:04:27 am
IMO Williams (If fully fit) is an upgrade on Richards and Revs - Rico is 3 years older (which once you hit 30+ is a fair bit older) and you could clearly see not good enough for Lg1

Revs was never a goal scorer and is also 34 - this guy is more of a natural finisher.

If offered 1 of the 3 tomorrow I'd take Williams every day of the week.

I hope you are right- no pun intended!
103  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Cobblers sign Doncaster striker Andy Williams on: May 21, 2018, 22:59:17 pm
We've made a lot of 'exciting' signings in recent times: Grimes Perreria, Van Veen etc. None of them have turned out that well....

Austin is right to prioritise industry and character in his new recruits.

Flippin' heck - vV has not played a full game yet due to injury sustained at AFCW. If he stays and plays a few games then he may come good.....hopefully!
104  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 21, 2018, 14:27:56 pm

Well I for one am pretty pleased with your assessment Nevers, because usually what you say/think is going to happen is quite the opposite from reality.

I try to avoid presentation of facts as you do. Not quite sure what your point is other than reality is sometimes lost on perhaps most of us who are Cobblers supporters.
105  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 21, 2018, 10:26:59 am
I would be shocked if we didn't bring in a minimum of 6 new first team players. .....

Be prepared to be shocked as I find it unlikely we will sign  6 new players - even if 6 or more leave!
106  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Budgets on: May 21, 2018, 10:01:35 am
Not very good at this debating lark are you Beds?
Ö.ÖÖ..Ö..........Try that?

Not quite sure why you expect to  have a debate, it's somewhat rare that it happens on this board - mostly comments presented as facts!
107  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 20, 2018, 22:16:24 pm
Based on facts (this seasons results but more importantly performances) yes. As others have said tge gulf in ability was there to see mot weeks. Ontop of that you could gave tge best coach in tge world in charge but if tge players are not good enough then they are not good enough

Why donít you enlist the help of spell check?

By significant I mean 5/6 first-teamers, not a complete upheaval.

His main problem is to sort out the defence and according to a few sooth sayers on here we might lose ROD and Taylor who ironically were part of the problem. Even during our championship season the defense threw up wobblies at least in two games.
111  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 19, 2018, 19:22:20 pm
I think this is steering away from my point which is I hope he makes substantial changes to the squad because I believe weíll struggle if he doesnít. The reason I feel that way is because a team that concedes 77 goals and loses 20 odd games doesnít magically gain the confidence to start winning games even in a lower league. Hoskins is overrated and Powell had about 3 good games last season. Crooks did nothing all season except pick up stupid red cards. Facey was steady, but nothing special. Iíll give Pierre and McWillams the benefit of the doubt because they didnít play much last season. I donít see much fight in this squad either which is massive in League Two. We need some more hard workers in the team. As someone said before, many of the issues of last year arenít going to just disappear because weíve dropped a division.

Pretty good summary and quite right to point out the 77 goals against. Clearly the defence was an issue and still is. Bit harsh on Crooks and McWilliams but probably about right Hoskins,Powell and maybe Pierre. We did not have a stand out player but plenty disappointed even from the first game. As for the Managers JED managed to oversee some haphazard signings as did JFH. JFH had plenty time to rectify the season but failed to galvanise the team.

No, it's just someone who likes to start arguments and rile others for fun. Just because you don't swear doesn't mean you aren't a troll, or at the very least doesn't mean you aren't very rude to people!

As a change of subject can we adopt Princess Megan as a club mascot?
113  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pre-season friendlies. on: May 19, 2018, 08:53:31 am
Feed Everbrite the troll and youíll give him a reason to argue for another day! 11,400 posts man, go for a walk or something as iím not biting  Kiss

Troll is somebody who abuses another with foul mouthed comments/etc and does it on a regular basis!
114  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pre-season friendlies. on: May 18, 2018, 22:01:18 pm
No, I havenít. Shocker that you are getting involved AGAIN

Do I need your permission to do so? You do get rattled easily!
115  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pre-season friendlies. on: May 18, 2018, 16:09:20 pm
Perhaps my friend if you had seen why I was arguing then you'd find it more believable! Coolcat has randomly and unfairly taken issue with me on a few occasions now. I'm really not bothered about us playing Oxford City in a friendly!  Grin

Aha! Changed your tune!
116  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pre-season friendlies. on: May 18, 2018, 10:16:46 am
I did contact NTFC, suggesting Oxford City as an ideal friendly - few of us in Oxford, get on well with their fans and directors...but seems it's Fernie Fields and Brackley again!
Meanwhile, other clubs get tours of Ireland and Scotland amongst other places!  Roll Eyes

Keep on trying, sounds a good idea; donít be put off by any detractors.
117  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 17, 2018, 23:35:38 pm
Obviously you didn't watch the last four games...

I doubt if Glastonbury watched many at all!

Similar to discussions on other threads, it may well be that L2 is Crook's natural level. I thought he was excellent against Plymouth and that was the first time I'd seen him in that role.

He was also impressive against Walsall running their full back ragged.
120  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pre-season friendlies. on: May 16, 2018, 19:20:24 pm
Why do you want Oxford City? Why is it a better friendly option than any other team of that level? Its because its local to you, you sh1thouse.

I actually don't live close to Sileby ground at all. I thought it was a great atmosphere in the sun and the level of opposition was appropriate for our youth players to thrive. Furthermore it was likely a big boost to a smaller Northamptonshire club.
