I love to hear of these supporters. I’m a mere newcomer with my 55 odd years. The chap next to me, and the one behind me are both very long term supporters. Both have had health issues of late, but still come along and proper cheer us on. Let’s hope most of us can do the Cobblers as proud as Deepcuts father, and those around me.
Not to forget the 'Lady' Fans as in Row K the wife of the 92yr old looks close to the nervous 90's. On the other hand maybe perhaps* that's why so few female cricketers get past a 90 run score.................. * these are the two operative words JIC

Wow that’s some accomplishment, he’s seen some serious highs and lows in that time, long may it continue.
Freddie Ramscar on here must be close to that accomplishment. Also another long server member maybe Sloan Cobbler? My first Match was in the mid 50’s. Due to school and playing men’s hockey up to 2004 so only got to a limited number of away games. Saw all the great players of the 60’s. Towards the end of Row K there is a fan of 92 - he must have some history? Still think Holton was our most effective Centre Forward his 36 goals in the old 3rd Div propelled us to the now Championship! First fixture we won was against Sc***horpe Away 1-2 . The County Ground not available to Mid-September!

Well I just think if we were to win our next 4 games 4-0 with the same 11 players, whoever they were, to then change the side because another player came back from injury would be a ludicrous decision. But that's me.
If we had a poor return from the next 4 games is Hoskins recalled PDQ?

1986/87 was the last time we did the league double.....in fact it was the only time in history that we have done the League double over them!
Won 2-1 at home (County Ground) 14/09/86 and then won 1-0 at London Road on 31/1/87. We also beat them 3-0 at home in the FA Cup in November 86...so we actually did the treble that year!
Since then however, Pish have done the double over us in 1990/91, 1999/2000, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2020/21
Pretty sure Bowens side walloped them [2] in the old 3rd Champion Season.

I would rather stick live bumble bees up my arse! Can just see you hobbling into the C & C refusing a seat while the Landlady fetches the Cold Cream. Hope you know the difference between the Hornet and any unfortunate Bumblebee. I hear the Abyssinian variety is particularly vicious

Completely agree. His finishing is light years above what it was. You only have to look back on some of his goals this season and he has at times made hard finishes look easy.
I'm certainly glad he was in the side against Tranmere last season.
It's obviously a good thing the side isn't a one man team and that we can play well without him. I just struggle to understand why anyone would be trying to find a way to get a 20 goal a season striker out of the side. I think the fact JB picks him every time he's available probably says it all.
You would have thought so!

See, now you maybe getting somewhere. Leonard is maybe being pushed forward because Hoskins isn't in the team. When we won at Bradford McWilliams took on that marauding role from deep to good effect. If you run into a position in the box, the one place you don't run is to where one of your team mates is already placed.
Thanks for your patronising remarks - simplistically I don’t subscribe to your Hoskins theory. Have seen too many games/players over the years to think otherwise. Don’t waste your time or get a hobby!

As I've said a number of times before, I agree with that perspective? It's almost as if when Sam is playing, the first option/target for the 'out ball' is him, sometimes to the detriment of a possible better option, which gives the opposition an obvious opportunity to close us down. Without him, all options are immediately 'on the table' and gives the team a different, less structured and free flowing look.
I find your analysis on the Hoskins effect when in the side somewhat surprising given the fact that Hoskins is by far our leading scorer (again) this season! The outball scenario you describe is far too vague. From the game’s I lhave seen this season the outball for me invariably goes to either Simpson, Bowie and Appéré If you are specifically referring to an outball in the final third then if it goes to Hoskins then generally it’s because he has pass in him plus a goal strike! Quite often Leonard drops deep enough to receive an outball; another popular recipient of an outball is Guthrie! If an outball pass is made in the final third hopefully Hoskins or Bowie are generally the receivers, then we are in with a goal chance. If Leonard is pushed forward as in recent weeks then that adds another string to our bow.

Deserved win against a poor Rovers side and 3 well taken goals. When they had possession we got men behind the ball and defended in numbers which was much better. Can't believe the number of their supporters who thought they should have had a nailed on penalty when it was a laughable appeal. They at times had some nice approach play but no end product but were quite good at finding touch, maybe they thought they were at Franklins Gardens, our GK didn't have a serious save to make.
Positives:- McWilliams and Sowerby back on the bench and getting some minutes and Sherring back min the starting 11. Negatives:- Sherring going off with another injury and assume Gape was not fit.
Their Forum is in melt down

No, I'm saying if you lose 3-4, it's not your attack you should be concerned about.
When you watched Carr side, and Wilders to an extent, you weren't concerned how many you let it because you always believe you could score more.
Well I watched a lot of Carrs and Wilders games and I don't think the Managers of both sides set up their sides based on your logic. In any case there is still a good argument to suggest that even last Tuesday we failed to score more than we did! At the game today we looked immeasurable better in defense with Sherring present, so perhaps our recent losses and draws were down to mass absence of key players.

I agree that Sowerby is the big miss. Just makes things tick in the middle. Alongside this it's no coincidence we looked better when Leonard played further forward. Getting his quality up into the danger areas was massive for us and the sooner we can do it again the better.
As for Hoskins....only at the Cobblers would you finally unearth a 20 goal a season striker of his quality and some would argue we are better without him.
As far as I am aware criticism of Hoskins has come from one persistence source, there has been others but they generally do at least offer some praise, even endearments from one charitable source.

For me and it appears generally true that a decent/strong defense is the making of a good side. It also gives more opportunity to the forwards as well as the midfield players. All our successful sides had exemplary central defenders like Branston, Wilcox and now Guthrie (in season 22/23). Our astute forum expert this season the redoubtable QAP has suggested that this season seems to be generally that we may have defensive issues. Guthrie's example last Tuesday held the defense such as it was, kept us in the game. For me the loss last Tuesday was as much due to key player absences but significantly aided by defensive errors. As much as it goes against the grain we have not as yet replaced Horsfall. Sherring is a decent replacement but appears to have gone awol recently and is certainly missed. Should be interesting game tomorrow both sides chronically effected by Injuries with two rookie keepers - he who turns up will win it.

Please, Evers, could I be excused for this one, despite being able bodied. I am only finishing work in Bradford at 18.00 and would struggle to get there before ko.
I know it's not the same, but I promise to watch it on IFollow.
Please yourself - if people can travel from abroad to attend it might mean your CV needs to be revised! Ever heard of a sick note or better still a 'knock'.
