We’re where we are on merit. We win some, draw some, lose some. Today was a bad day. We got written off multiple times this season for 18th and it didn’t happen. It’s been a good season.
Good post - the result today seems to have woken up a few wokists. It was poor stuff tho’’. But for the post and Burge we could have been 3-0 down in the first 25mins.Also during the the defence and midfield didn’t know their elbow from their ……..Shelling and Leonard had poor games, Hoskins was anonymous. Pinnock was a disaster! Go. Fox not up to reg L1 standard. McGowan all over the place. Even Guthrie had a less than impressive 1st half About as bad I have seen for 2 years! Boos at half time! Yet this was the side which deservedly beat Derby which sort of proved Young DAVCobbler remarks above.

Don't worry Comrade Manny, it's a blessing in disguise, you don't often choose winning causes anyway.
If you want, you can go halves on my horse and we'll share the winnings. Always happy to help those in need.
I will join in this gentleman Jolly based on 50% share - is this OK Deepo?

Whilst we do not know where we finished I think that injuries alone (let alone a lack of overall quality) would have put a stop to any playoff dreams. Lincoln are now 15 unbeaten which is a seriously impressive upturn in form.
Realistically where would we have wanted to strengthen at the time in January? Probably a striker, winger and midfielder at that point.
I certainly dont think we would have been looking at full backs considering how many we already had on the books which looking back retrospectively we would have needed, along with a better quality keeper. The injuries to all of our backline have been horrendous and whilst by now are no longer a surprise i dont believe it would have been possible to fill the gaps that have popped up since January whilst still adding real high quality up top.
Thats not be lacking ambition btw, do I want us to push for the playoffs? Absolutely I do. Just dont think it was on the cards this season based on the bodies we have consistently been missing.

Probably doesn’t realise they come from Stoke on Trent! After all he thought Tranmere was in Liverpool 😂
Bit harsh on Tranmere as they are in the Wirral - my mother came from Hoylake and along with Cowdenbeath and Tranmere she always looked out for their results.

I did not think it was a bad or poor game. Thought that Burge played well and added a degree of confidence and stability to the defense. Moore was a liability at times but Monthe was a pretty good replacement at half time. For me Guthrie was a potential MOM even though some of his passing was off queue a few times. Leonard also did well as he foiled many of Vales attacks. Brady was very chuffed with the result and more than pleased that his apparent points target of 54 points had been achieved and over achieved by Jove! Certainly the team's overall defensive display put to bed that cringing criticism that they are 'on the beach'. The crowd celebrated the 2nd goal with unbridled enthusiasm - no 'Meh' mentality from them so good day out for me!

Ah, so you didn't go down the Suicide Bomber career path? Or if you did, you weren't very good at it. Did you get promoted to supervisor on the grounds that you were the only one left?
He is fishing Barty - ignore !

I haven't even looked back at this but, never thrown a smoke bomb in my life...held one at FK Riga when we were playing for Intertoto qualification back in 2007 - that's it! Oh and for that Port Vale game, I was up the Tuscan hills in Fiesole (outside of Firenze) getting photos and updates from Cobblers who were there! You missed O'Donovans wonder 20 yarder

I just never realised that the Romans made it to Northern Ireland.
They didn't but thought about it after a few Celtic raids. Manpower issues as already overstretched. I get your clever point about UK and 'Ireland'!

You are under the illusion I'm stalking you so nothing spoilt from my side. You do make an interesting point suggesting that a football isn't worth attending for the match in itself and it has to have something extra depending on the result. My contention is that football matches is all there is. The extra you are thinking about is just more football matches. The quality may change but not by much. What else does a football match result ride on? Followers of Eckhart Tolle would understand my point.
Logic is not his strong point!

At the risk of being pedantic, shouldn't that be Roman roads in Britain?
You mean Britannia? Strictly speaking, apparently the Latin equivalent to road was 'Via' which meant the Roman Way. But am happy with road and the UK. After all the 'via's' are all over the UK.
