Roll on Fleetwood !

Indeed - one comment regarding McWilliams - to me he looked a bit lightweight; as a replacement for JJOT he is not! Who can be considered as a replacement?  Foley, Poole?
22  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Shrewsbury line up? on: Yesterday at 00:27:27
Excellent game today. Thoroughly expected a loss (as I assume most people did), but we really gave the Shrews a good game. They would have gone top tonight if they'd won and have been on a good run of form.

Both wing backs were superb. The only game we've lost where Facey has played, was when he came off injured real early on (correct me if wrong!). He's absolutely class, and a very calming influence on the whole team. I think a lot of people will be praising Bunney today, but another special mention for that last ditch challenge he made in the first half.

Hoping we stick with this formation going into next week. Both Hilda and Ariyibi look very capable playing 'in the hole' behind the two strikers as well.

You need to tell us all you got home safely and not too late!
23  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Shrewsbury line up? on: Yesterday at 00:16:05
Bunney was excellent tonight.

Bunney much improved tonight.  A very good point tonight and well deserved too. I amazed at the pronouncements of those unable to be there; mostly crass comments and one foot or more in the grave. For those who were there would have left with hope in the manner of the display. As mentioned Bunney gave a much improved display it was his centre which enabled Facey to side-foot the ball home. This followed great and tenacious work by Mathis - looks a decent find by JFH. It was good to hear the West Stand (South End!) chanting 'Bunney'  very good form by the sometimes maligned young supporters.  The defence played as a unit played well snuffing out many attacks, Taylor outstanding with Turnbull doing ok as well, Facey and Maloney did well too. Grimes: played his part well, one or two poor free kicks; put in some great tackles. JJOT played well until unluckily sent off considering he was belted first. O'Donnell had a relatively quiet game but was very sound in the closing stages. The fact he didn't have to make a series of wonder saves gives you a clue how well the defence played. Berto did ok wasn't booked and when he had a chance to ran at their defence caused them big problems. vV clearly not fit, pulling out of tackles had one 20 yd shot on goal which on another day might well have troubled (any) goalie.Fleetwood 0-2 win at Rochdale is not necessarily bad news; it does limit Rochdales ability to catch us. However we simply have to get a point or two at Fleetwood.

FFS. If I was Kelvin Thomas reading this I'd just think "sod it, I won't bother in future."

Its a strange decision to reward just one travel club. Should be the Trust Coache x 4! Plus that minibus with the toughs in it. Special assistance for Coolie, Dan and the choir boys.
25  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Shrewsbury line up? on: March 20, 2018, 11:36:45 am
I thought Boris looked quite sharp in his brief appearance, I'd be tempted to go 4-3-3.

Facey      Poole     Taylor    Turnbull

        McWilliams        Foley

      Van Veen  Luckassen    Mathis

Would go 4-4-2 with Grimes or Bunney at LM
Just vV and Lucky up front. There is no winger? Thought that Poole unavailable?
26  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 20:49:28 pm
The best we can hope for is to get a few results and claw survival. Hed probably stick around and be under immediate pressure next season.
I can recall calling for Cardoza but not Wilder. I think this one will need to be a bigger turnaround. Currently not sensing a happy ending. If its the same old story tomorrow he wont have many backers left at all.
When the main focus turns from the pitch to the fans you are clutching at straws. Maybe try coming out of the East Stand side.  Tongue
Take some accountability man.

Doesn't look like he is going to though:

For once though, I agree with the rest of what he says.

I do as well having read it. If we get behind all the team tomorrow it will help all players.
28  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 16:21:08 pm
Have a quick read of the opening post(s) from this thread:

Fans were calling for him to be sacked after 2 months? Absolutely zero rapport with a lot of our fans. Fans claiming we'd signed too many loan players etc (the usual stuff you hear when you're in the relegation zone, but not when you're top of the league).

I understand memory changes over the course of time, but it really wasn't how you remember it. Most of the fans were wrong, and the manager eventually got it right given a 3rd season. The reason I highlight Wilder, is because he is the last manager we stuck with through a rough patch (a rough patch that appeared to last a full calendar year or so with some fans?). We absolutely cannot keep sacking managers aiming for quick fix after quick fix.

I'll be there tomorrow supporting the team. I fear we need the support more than ever, but I think any positive vibes have long left our home matches.

Another good post Wolvo keep it up.  This guy is travelling from Sutton Coldfield to support the team on Tuesday how many of us will have the 'necessary' to do that? Of course, we need wholehearted support, not cynical applause. If Bunny plays (perhaps unlikely) support him he will react to such support. Our future, especially at Sixfields, may depend on the support we give. The away support is fine but a big effort for Fleetwood is required...come on Dan you are the conductor here!

How do you know that he is human? Unsubstantiated rubbish again.

Steady Frank!
ps whats your take on Ernest? He who likes Vikings!

You are a sad excuse for a human being Nevers!

31  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 14:33:20 pm
Spot on re: Wilder - the only manager we've had in the last few years who hasn't been stubborn in his ways and who has actually had a connection to the fans.

You want to have a look at the links Wolvo has provided as CW was being cursed for being stubborn! It was only by 2015 that he began to have a decent relationship with the fans. He had to take a lot of stick in 2014 and some of 2015.
32  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 14:25:51 pm
I think you are 100% spot on regarding fans opinion on Grimes and Bunney.

Most will agree on poor old Bunney but if Grimes was playing to avoid a yellow then that might have affected his performance. No doubt my excuse for his poor performance on Saturday will be 'rubbished' on Tuesday.
33  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 14:16:54 pm
If you believe that JFH will avoid relegation then he wont be with this club if/when we go down.

The only hope is, if other teams dont pick up any more points....

Other than a resignation by JFH how do we pay him off?
34  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 14:10:44 pm

Given the performance on Saturday I think your prediction is pretty optimistic - In fact if we play that that and with that set up for the rest of the season I can't see us getting more than 1 more point.

Again hope I'm wrong - But as others have said we are so easy to beat / play against. Its all just too predictable

You said more or less the same thing about CW! (About Dec 2014 in the CW Sackingthread).
35  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 13:58:00 pm
I recall a few months ago (when you see the memories on Facebook) sharing one I posted about 3 years ago saying about how I wanted Wilder sacked.....................

Drilling in September 2014 you were firmly advocating the sacking of CW on here; admittedly along with quite a few others! I get the impression you are embarking on the same journey again re JFH. Please correct me if wrong! JFH is on a 3-year contract so to pay him off will be financially disasterous for us; even more so if we are relegated. As you might guess I am not a supporter of ditching JFH as it is all too reminiscent of the sackings of Johnstone, RP and JED.  I also happen to believe/hope that JFH will avoid relegation and go on to have a successful  L1 season with us next season. I am not in agreement with some of his selection policies and more than disappointed with the display last Saturday. Unlike some on here, not all my disappointment is aimed at the Manager. I feel that some of the players have to take (some) responsibility for the recent poor performances.
36  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 09:17:37 am
Once again utter nonsense nevers, as others have said Wilder admitted when he got it wrong and changed his style dramatically to play a higher pressing and attacking game with width. The signing of Holmes was a major turning point as he helped allow him to do this and by luck/good judgement/right player right time it payed off massively

You merely rely on others opinion ; never your own and pick and chose to suit your argument. Where you around in CW early years?

ps The 'Sacking him' thread in 2014 ring any bells?
37  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: March 19, 2018, 01:10:48 am
But you are also missing the point.  We can all be wise after the event.  Link me a thread from that same point in time saying we should stick with CW and that this guy will win the league next season.  Why wouldn't "some" people call for a managers head 5 months into a season that promised so much but was heading the way of another relegation battle.  Like I've said before we all know what later happened but in Decemeber of that season with the club in 19th place people were rightly fed up.  As I also said before Wilder changed a lot which is what then led to what came to pass.  So to say someone expressing that opinion at THAT specific point in time somehow invalidates their opinion now is just ridiculous.

Again I say why not use a thread calling for JED or Pages sacking?  We all know why!

Those that offer no opinion never have to defend themselves though do they?

Be surprised if I am missing the point - as I never called for CW's head so that rules out hindsight. CW did not change a lot, it was at best a gradual change over 2 years. What he managed to do was get the team playing how he wanted and he was given time to achieve that. AFAIK he did not admit to poor selection strategy but merely played those (eventually) who served a purpose. The similarity between CW and JFH situation is uncanny. As for those expressing 'that' specific point in time (CW v JFH), as Wolvo rightly points out it is the same people doing it again. To me, that is more than coincidental.

LOL 'til I pissed myself.  It has always been a problem for me taking that accent seriously.  In a different world, I had a neighbour who was a submariner technology warfare expert (ie, he worked in a sub in the Falklands Conflict doing stuff that is still classified).  Whenever he talked serious tech stuff, I had real problems absorbing what he said, if you know what I mean.....Huh???  Smiley

Good on you for keeping it real.

Does this mean you a regular at the Fellows Park/Banks/Bescot?RAC Stadium away days?

If he travels down from SC for most home games its a well done. Wolvo and I don't always see eye to eye but after that link he posted on CW you kinda of warm to the guy.

I have an old, archived quote from you that says:  "I've had enough of this rubbish" whilst Calderwood was manager.... or do I?

Firstly no I did not criticize Calderwood.

pack it up Frank!
