I am absolutely p*ssed of with EVERYTHING about NTFC at the moment. The vast majority of the players are going through the motions and if things don't change we will go down. Kelvin needs to either get out or provide some leadership and tell the wasters to start earning their money ! Ash Taylor, your form HAS dropped so don't insult our intelligence by saying otherwise, I know it and YOU know it. But Taylor is not the only one, lots of others are not in the slightest bothered about the results, they DON'T CARE about NTFC.
It's time we let the players know that if they are not bothered they can f*ck off, I'd rather field the U18's team than the team of weak willed posers we have at the moment. This is OUR club, we will be here long after they have found out what it's like to have to work for a living.
I agree that DA could do better, especially with game management, but Klopp would do well to get this lot to perform. I was at Barnet after 8 players had been sacked and we played the youth team and at least they all put 100% in, I don't think that's happened at NTFC since CW left.
TIME TO STAND UP everyone otherwise see you in Braintree  Sad

It’s hard not to disagree with you R.  Perverse as it sounds I would do everything I could to encourage the team. Clearly some hard talking needs to be done during the coming week. This is were DA comes in - I hope.

Some thoughts:

1. We need to go back to basics. We are haemorrhaging goals so Austin needs to play the most defensively competent players in every position. That means recalling JJOT and playing one up front - probably Williams as the most hardworking striker. We do not have the personnel to play 442 and if Austin doesnt realise that then he will lose his job.

2. It is simplistic to blame the back four/five for our defensive ineptitude. However, Cornell is a keeper who simply does not keep clean sheets. Teams have clearly sussed out that he's vulnerable to long range shots. Ward kept a lot of clean sheets last year at a not massively dissimilar level - time to give him a try.

Cornell is not a najor prob at the mo’ but we have nothing to lose by giving Ward  a go!

Barton - you are absolutely right with your comments.  And for those that have used Beds for their summer sport it's about time you accepted that the theme of what he writes (not the economics) is also right.  The evidence is in front of your eyes. But for me the culture of any organisation has to be set by its owners and the present incumbents are a major disappointment for all the reasons Beds and others have pointed out time and time again.

Unless a true white knight is out there waiting to take over the club then it is time for supporters to unite and tell the present crew i.e. owners, players, management that it is just not good enough. Notts County may be an important day and not only on the pitch.

I find it so easy to disagree with you! - I shudder to think what may have happened if  we followed Beds plan! By far the most important solution is to improve the playing side/results! Incidentally those with at least 50% BP don’t agree with you and Beds. Why do you think the Admin guys reject your theories.

Good post Barton. Ive stated elsewhere there are serious problems at NTFC, staying in League two will be a big ask, it goes way further than the Manager. The Chairmanship, Recruitment, Coaching, Long term off field plans should all be questioned, the Club is rotten to the core.

Except that a couple of decent wins won’t put right. The only thing I would query is the manager.  It also would help if we all stayed ‘hopeful’.
25  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 16, 2018, 00:32:20 am
But in many ways totally irrelevant.

DA is being let down by his players, who cannot convert chances or concede sloppy goals.

It is time for the players to step up .... However I have my doubts if they can or will.

He picks the team! What’s the point of picking players not up for it; then people blame the players!

Let's change the manager, that always works...

It doesn’t  and you are quite right in suggesting that. Equally we cannot go on like this for much longer. Something has to give and it’s odds on against DA.

Can somebody who was actually at the game kindly give a report on our performance....please.
29  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 15, 2018, 20:06:55 pm
Changing the manager won't make any difference, except to waste money that could be spent on players in January.

I believe that DA’s record this season is beyond redemption; since appointed Manager he appears to have lost his zip!

Strangely enough, I have been painting this week. But, it was the hoarding around the scaffolding that was sensitively erected.  Grin

What is he on about Frank
33  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hiding behind the Vale on: September 15, 2018, 10:24:03 am
I’ve said it before but a lack of facial hair in a squad is directly linked to performance.
Get more beards on the pitch and you’ll see an upturn in form.

Wow - Shoey off to Burslem?
34  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 15, 2018, 09:46:31 am
I’m out of options then. Seems like the squad are not alone in their affliction though?

Congratulations to you both for this late night/early morning debate. Melly why don’t you ask Frank why he finds Terry repugnant? It might give you the reason why.
35  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hiding behind the Vale on: September 15, 2018, 09:31:44 am
Fair play to you if you do go, but you'd have to be absolutely bonkers to go to Burslem next week and pay actual money to watch us play.

Shouldn’t think those going would endorse your comments. Personally I think anybody going to support the team should be lauded.
36  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Trevor Gould on: September 14, 2018, 22:39:11 pm
The 15-year-old midfielder will cost Everton an initial £65,500 fee, which could rise to £1.3million depending on how many first-team games he plays for the Premier League side.

Transfer Window Review: Everton

Cobblers’ Academy boss Trevor Gould said they had “mixed feelings” about the player’s move.

“He is going to a fantastic club with a proud record of producing young players,” he told the BBC.

“Not only are we producing players for our own first team, we are producing players who are attracting the interest of Premier League clubs and that is a massive endorsement of our work,” added Gould.

“Seeing any local player have the opportunity to develop at a Premier League club is exciting and we wish Fraser every success.

“We always want to keep our best players, but under the EPPP if a player is wanted by a Premier League club then it is just about impossible for us to resist, given the processes set out as part of the EPPP.”

The EPPP was voted in by English clubs in 2011 to replace the old system and allows clubs to buy young players from lower leagues for a set fee, rather than going through the rigmarole of a tribunal.

Everton will pay Northampton £150,000 for every ten games Hornby plays in up to the 60-game-mark. After that, they will pay £100,000 for every 10 appearances up to 100, at which point they will no longer owe money for the 15-year-old.

Thanks for the info Belt Up seems a decent arrangement based on 1st team appearances. What do you think Boots

O for Chris Hargreaves in his prime in the middle of the park. I would have him back at the club in a shot.

I don't think I could ever cheer for John Terry in any way shape or form.

Not even on loan?
38  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: September 14, 2018, 13:59:07 pm
Totally agree.

It is sad that Neverbrite thinks fans are interested with his 12030 views on everything, I just skip his postings.

The brave bitching from behind a keyboard is nearly as sad. Previously I've challenged a couple of posters to meet and repeat their insults to my face and shock, horror no backbone!!!

I presume most of us are passionate about our club and should channel energy's into getting some progress to a better future, instead of hiding behind a keyboard with pathetic inane  comments.

Over to the moderators.

Not aware had fallen out with you VI- still thats life. Happy to meet face to face although I thought we did at Barnet some three years agp

Oh okay, yes I do, sorry.

Is that it then?

I've no idea what you are on about, as usual.

Yes you do!
