Thank goodness I made the Charlton game otherwise I can now write off today's performance as a one off. Whether that is the case remains to be seen. We certainly missed Sowerby and McWilliams. Leonard played the deep midfield so we lacked his ability where it mattered. Not sure if Burge might have done better with their first. So after some thought have voted for Leonard but could have easily been Bowie.

That was the view of many on this board and wider, not just Marvo.
This board is sometimes saddled with unfounded speculation. Was there a comment in the Chron which can be attributed to Brady? Where do you get ‘many’ from as from memory it was just a few. For me Marvo contradicts ‘Itsme’ claim on McGowans form! Perhaps Marvo comment was a little cryptic and such ad hoc comments can lead to misunderstanding. I suppose if a rumour is commented on here then some may assume it is fact!

Brady was the one trying to shift McGowan on so he has to be the biggest "doubter" of the lot. If the manager thought his time was up, who are we as supporters to argue with his assessment.
Have you a link to prove this was Brady’s wish to move McG on? I thought it was idle talk by a few on here ie unfounded rumours !

You know it is difficult to nominate an MOM after such match and team display and to witness the sheer jubilation from all present and no doubt from further afield. Whilst the indefatigable McGowan clearly deserved MOM status others ran him very close indeed like Bowie, Burge (a welcome return to form) and McWilliam, So for MOM I give it to Simpson whose early goal set the stage for a memorable victory, Just like Bowen's side did all those years ago.

Here again?
Overtaken Fowler to move into 7th in overall goals. Up next in his sights, the two Berts. Lewis and Dawes.
(just the 7 goals away from FRANK LARGE ...before the end of the season?)
Oh and also moved into 4th on the all-time appearances. Forgot about that.
Thank you for the details you painstakingly supply on Hoskins. Always a great read!

Well, apart from not being the same job, spot on...
I feel like I'm going insane with some of the comments. Surely when he gets the call up, you have a innate understanding that you should do some basic research on the team you are going to be co-commentating on, like the names of the players. It is a job after all.
Precisely - perhaps he just took the money and mumbled a few words Am assuming he was paid?

You are less of a fan and can't see the game properly on the telly....is what he meant. Maybe his best work was done off camera. Not sure how good your memory is but if fans are unable to go that doesn’t mean you are a lesser fan but if the cap fits plus a chip on your shoulder then you might have a pre conceived view point! In fact some aspects of iFollow you do get a better view , especially of a goal at the other end of the pitch. Incidentally resorting to misplaced sarcasm and opinion of those who did go is a slap in the face for those travelling on a wet,and very windy night. In these circumstances I salute those who did go and enjoyed their company.

I am bemused by some of the comments on McW. ‘off the pace’ . Can only assume it was based on iFollow viewing? Some of Charlton’s midfield/ front 3 was very good and can make the best of players look ordinary. At times McW drew frequent applause for his timely interceptions, passing and tackling. He was severely handled by a couple of their players. In my view whilst we were unlucky to concede an OG which ensured the Addicts went in at the break level but we were only just very marginally the better side. In the second half it was desperate defending at times. Certainly to begin with Simpson looked off the pace until his goal and that energised him - so well done Simpson! I amongst others for a good third of the 2nd half were praying for a draw. As for the Bowie ‘penalty’ incident; the goal keeper spread himself and sent Bowie sprawling- seemed an obvious 21 carat gold one to all there, incl Home support! As for the ridiculous egoist conspiracy theory that the ref didn’t give it as he realised he had made a mistake in sending off their player! Their player was a dirty little devil who constantly fouled McW and left him flat out on the pitch requiring the attention of the physio! It was a brave performance dominated by Burges saves and the much maligned McGowan whose never say die attitude ensured we got all three points. Cue sheer jubilation in the away support at the third goal in the 97th.

Rather than players who have played for their country and the Cobblers, which is probably going to be Hundreds after 127 years., what about players who have represented their Country whilst playing for the Cobblers which is likely to be a smaller and more interesting number ?
Good point

Ill be down for this one, Hopefully we should get a few more down for this one given Oxford was postponed.
Think we should get 600-700 down or thereabouts.
Ticket office confirmed about 500 going as at 3.30pm today. Might struggle for 700 but you never know!?

Evers. The official head of virtue signalling.
Especially when it’s wet and dangerously windy and now need a walking stick to get around! You sometimes give the impression of a fairweather supporter? As an esteemed Mod on here perhaps you might’ve considered assuming the ‘Virtual’ mantle yourself. One other Mod is leading by example so why not you?
