A little underwhelmed with this but understand the need to bring in bodies at the very least. In our position i was hoping we could look for a more proven signing or perhaps someone on a permanent basis. Hopefully Tony will really add to what we have, hard working seems to be an attribute of his which is a non negotiable for all additions. But looking at previous reports and a deeper dive into his previous performances he just seems to lack quality with his final ball and is not so pacy that speed alone can cause teams concerns.
Not trying to be negative though, completely hope I’m wrong! At the very least another option of the bench to help give Brady options is very much welcome. Welcome aboard Tony!
Good heads up report Lordy - like you will afford Tony the requisite number of games of 10 to see how he does. Just remember how most of us wrote off Simpson a week or two ago!

The planning application for the Lower Thames Crossing, contains 359,000 pages, and has cost £267 million. Thats before work has even started.
May I ask politely what has this Lower Thames PA go to do with Terrys preamble above! If it’s a naïve query just box its ears and send it home. I can hazard a guess or two but prefer to hear from you!

Was dedicated, now retired and no longer registered! It was in reference to the use of “fort”, very down with the yoof innit? No further clarification will be provided Once a Saver always a Saver....I hope! My English teacher Mr Browne, spelt with an 'e' often set me Detention always in spare time for misuse of grammar.

Anyone who thinks we still can't be dragged into a relegation battle is absolutely deluded! We are massively punching at the moment & Brady is working wonders...let's get to 52 points then see what happens eh? No doubt if we start dropping down the league, some will moan & "think we should be pushing for the play offs!" We would all love a season or two in the Championship etc, but most of us are realistic & without serious funding, realise we are even now above where we should be... I have in the past sometimes disagreed with you but would comment on yoiur theme as follows: Cautious common sense suggests that relegation maybe a potential possibility, particularly after a bad run and associated factors (think off Oxford and their relegation to the Cconference). Personally I think the main point is that we are doing well with a team/squad post well put together by Brady. What makes me attend games is the hope that we might win. So in my opinion is that if this form continues we will edge closer to the Play Offs which is a good thing for players and club alike let alone supporters. We have already shown we are the equal of several promotion hopefuls. Also I feel you over emphasise the importance of funding as there are quite a few examples where ambitious funding has failed; for example Peterborough, Oxford, Blackpool, Wigan even perhaps Pompey and Derby. To secure their targets they simple get the cheque book out plus the offer of inflated wages! Cue players like Rhodes and Wyke. nb I have no issue or grudge with you!

I'm going to interject as someone who really has no entitlement to be in this debate. Because as i have said before. I don't vote. I don't really even watch, or listen to the news.
However, I do know one thing implicitly. No matter who gets in, there is simply not enough money cascading down from the huge conglomerates. Or the super rich in this country. The current military, social care, NHS and local authority models are simply not sustainable. In fact nowhere near. What has happened in Birmingham, is about to happen in at least four other huge local authorities that I know of, and in fact have dealt with in recent years. Over the last 30 years the blended growth of joint centrally funded and PFI contracts has propped up most decent sized projects. Now the central funding has become almost negligible, we are left with private ownership models, that are draining huge amounts of funds away from the UK. Contracts have been signed over the last few years that we know are unsustainable and will inevitably lead to private, foreign commerce governing nearly all of our once public sector projects. The safeguards that were in place under EU membership have been eradicated and it is now an open house frenzy from oversees organisations to run and own our infrastructure, commerce and institutions. Organisations that unlike previous models, offer no incentive or intent to fund the public purse. By ensuring that there funding is offshore, and that they, not us, reap the benefits of the tax breaks and loopholes. The PFI's initiatives where agreed off the backdrop of a model that would reap huge tax returns, that would in turn bolster future growth. This is not the case at all now. So we are left to fend for ourselves, whilst looking on jealously at huge foreign growth in other countries, funded by our ultimate demise.
So which party is going to sort out our demise;according to your message neither party is up to it! This leaves the Liberals, so goodl luck there, An alternative is an extreme Left Wing a la Corbyn - is this what you want? As your comments are made in good faith, have noted the points you have raised. As a regular poster on here will take the opportunity to examine your claims and offer a measured response!

Not sure about these 30p references, but I do recall being told about 50p Lill though.
When living in London many years ago one of the girls living in the flat below was called Betty and nicknamed 'Bett(y)er Next Time'.

'fort that Fox was on the bench Saturday as was the great Magloire,

Looks a very good signing 👍🏻
Agreed - never read so many positive comments from fans at his former loan Club. Any rumours on WBA midfielder John Swift? No chance I suppose but what a signing that would be.

I HAVE NEVER DELETED MY ACCOUNT ON HERE. i cannot spell it out any clearer. Think about what I have just said, and you may get a lightbulb moment.
Point taken - You seem to be missing the point, that is reference your final sentence as my lightbulb moment occurred some time ago. This is my last comment and will not comment or reply any further on the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

Looking at the current off topic conversations; mostly of a personal nature am surprised that these comments have not come to the attention of the Mods. Also Saucy I find it surprising you find the time to remark on ID change?

On loan at Derby last year, not getting first team games?
If it's anyone he looks most likely
On Tony Springett from Wiki: In January 2023 he moved on loan to Derby County for the remainder of the season.[4] He made 11 appearances for The Rams, with a ankle injury in March 2023 ending his season early.[5] Looks like he hs never scored a goal and has played IR under 23.

Having had a quick look at Wigan's forum they are very critical of their team.
You are not joking - either arguing with each other, criticizing the Manager and Owner, even moaning that their wingers are hopeless. I thought that they were good in keeping possession but their final ball was ofter very poor. We had two very good chances in the first half and should have scored. Our stand out players had a mixed game but our defence as a whole played very well, so much that Burge was hardly troubled although their goal looked messy! Simpson troubled them with his bull dozing tactics/runs and showed some decent touches and his growing awareness of players around him, is becoming a very useful player. Like them, with Bowie and Hoskins looking a bit of colour and Pollock having a 'mare it was left to our defence to secure a point when it might have been 3pts. Like most I left the ground happy with the point tho'.

I have a good feeling about today's game.
Burge to show us why we loved him so much last season.
Let’s hope you are right - still suns out so that’s a good thing after a few dismal grey days!
