At the risk of being pedantic, shouldn't that be Roman roads in Britain?
You mean Britannia? Strictly speaking, apparently the Latin equivalent to road was 'Via' which meant the Roman Way. But am happy with road and the UK. After all the 'via's' are all over the UK.

No, not my opinion. We've won just once in our last 7 games. That's a fact. Didn't you go to all those games, that seems to be the whole point of your life.
Have a reasonable amount of hobbies like Roman Rds in the UK, Car Clubs, Logistics of the Macedonian Army up to 323BC. Like a spot of gardening and enthusiastic on growing runner beans. And you?

It's about time we gave some team a hammering, when was the last time we won by 4 or 5 goals? We have it in us and these last 5 games we should go for it, with 3 in the bottom 4, Exeter down there and Barnsley losing regularly at the moment, now is the time to do it.
None of this 'on the beach' please .
Absolutely Grumpy, Absolutely! Put that in your pipe and smoke it el MEH fanatics

I believe it is Brady’s hope/ambition to finish as high as possible in League One; none of this ‘MEH’ mentality for me! Do those who indulge in similar mentality believe that PV will wish us well if the roles were reversed!? Have been to Vale more than a few times and there would not be a snowball chance in hell of a similar ‘MEH’ attitude!

Everybody knows we need a bigger ground, I suspect that's a bit of a slur regarding the intellectual capacity of the current chairman.
Strange you should bring Cardoza into the argument but it was he who passed up the opportunity to increase the capacity to around 10,000 and instead lumbered the club with the current monstrosity at the same time making it financially far more expensive to achieve.
That opening sentence suggests that your intellectual capacity is top notch!

I am not voting for woman who has no interest in the Cobbs! Defence played ok with Guthrie*and Sherring in control. Their goal seem to arrive via an error by Leonard of all people! Two other players did well: Monthe and Moulden but in this instance my vote goes to an improving Moulden. Considering there was over a 1000 fans none of them be bothered to vote!
* Guthrie played Smith out of the game!?

My personal opinion is that calling anyone a prick deserves a ban from this message board. The fact is though that personal insults have been left unchecked or without consequence for a long while now which is no deterrent whatsoever and contributes to a lower standard of messageboard than should be expected imo.
Shoey makes a good point!

My first visit to Elm Park..... Wednesday night, went on the train, got there about 4.30pm and there was an open gate near the away end, we snuck in and hid under the terrace for a couple of hours or so and waited until they opened the gates and then made our way up onto the terrace.... game finished 1-1. 8pm kickoff, game finished, back on the train and delayed for ages heading into Waterloo, by the time we'd got across to Euston we had missed the last train back to Northampton. Walked into the city and wandered round for a few hours, first train in the morning back to Teyn and pretty much straight to work!
True supporter attitude and story!! I was living in London at the time so I didn't miss the chance to go and watch the Cobbs. Pretty sure it was in 1962 April and we lost 2-1. My excuse for that loss was that Holton was injured. It was our promotion season too. Their fans didn't like us - jealousy probably as we were much higher up the table! More to come!

On Hylton.
A strange signing when heralded as a marquee one! It appears that in the 2022/23 season he apparently played 26 games for Luton with a return of nil goals! Clearly that season a lot of appearances came off the bench and may have been far from match fit. In hindsight we where all duped/conned in celebrating the services on an injury prone player, so was his fitness/injury record fully investigated prior to signing? In hindsight it appears there might or should be an investigation into the circumstances of the Hylton signing. Perhaps more controversially is the current chronic injury situation NTFC are facing; however as many other Clubs are facing the same issues a more conservative approach maybe required. Whatever the circumstances JP is doing a fine job and hope he continues in the same vein.

Remember the Swindon game led to the unforgettable headline in the Green Un of "Swindon get Large Kaning'
Bit like the win at Sunderland at the beginning of our first season in the now Championship sparked a fantastic headline from the Chron : Cobblers in Wunderland. a great win, perhaps even better than the recent Derby game?

The theory is that you need a lot less money when you retire. I can look at my pension and think “I can have £55k a year when I’m 67” but you have to get there and have the health to enjoy it. I think the key is to have a plan and not rot in an armchair in front of the telly.
It’s all very subjective!

Retirement. Comes highly recommended.
My suggestion is if you are well enough to work then do so! Your personal well being may depend on it! The thing about retiring your income rarely increases!

Remember Peter Kane very well. Kane had a prolific season with us, particularly the season when we were in the old 2nd Division and beat Swindon 4-0: 28 Sep 1963 Northampton Town v Swindon Town W 4-0 League Division Two Attended by 18173 at the old County Ground!! Peter Kane scored 2 and Frank Large also got two. Line ups http://www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk/MatchCentre.asp?MatchID=19640110Just have a look at the Swindon side that game, they were the darlings of all the Soccer Media at the time, a very young side who played progressive football! Kane got transferred to Arsenal (for £35,000 I believe) ,but never quite made it there. I happened to be living in London at the time and when I learnt he had been selected to play I went to watch the game at Highbury. If you happen to see Peter again give him my regards as I remember his two goals against Swindon very well.

Inspite of Hoskins classy side footed goal and from an emotional POV have no hesitation in nominating Monthe who was either playing left wing or LWB and actually won several headers. I enjoyed his surges upfield and the discomfort that they caused to the Rams defence. Like many near me his goal bound shot but for fortuitous post would have been cheered to the heavens had it gone in. The North Stand faithful still had time to show their appreciation for the attempt!

Excellent performance. Overcame a hoofball team despite not being given a cast iron penalty which could have put you 2 ahead. Great defending and not too sloppy going forward. Your lads looked so much more up for it than them.
Do you actually live in or near Northampton? Also how come you are a Wanderers fan? In case you are wandering, I admire your sense of humour and eloquent style . A welcome credit indeed to this much loved and famous Board! What do you think Barty?
