61  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Head Down Hoskins on: November 26, 2018, 12:55:18 pm
And the truth is he is probably somewhere in the middle - average with very occasional flashes of quality.

Curiously Hoskins is attracting votes in the Clare Balding ratings for last Saturday. Listening to the commentary only vV seemed to be mentioned on a frequent basis.

Thank you for agreeing with me. No further "bickering" is required from both of us.  Smiley

Thanks for your reply; your comments are noted.

I lay blame for the goal with Pierre also, miles off the player

As suggested in Chron ref player ratings. Pierre was marked with a 5 and Taylor 6!

It's an odd state of affairs for a club legend who has only just turned 30. Is it my imagination or does JJOT normally improve around Christmas time? I remember he went on a great scoring run under JED at around this time of year.

Perhaps he's just finding it hard to adjust to being back in league 2. Either way we need him to rediscover some of his old form quickly.

Let’s hope he read this!

all true, but it's two average performances and we didn't loose either.  I'd say at the moment he is a lucky manager and long may it continue.  I am sure he knows now exactly who he wants to shift on and probably who he wants to bring in.  His response yesterday in the post match interview when asked about McWilliams spoke volumes.

Another good little summary of which (IMO) is pretty accurate. Spot on about not losing, knows what he wants and above all the post match interview yesterday. Only minor drawback is your lucky comment as I believe you make yr own luck! Even that you qualify that luck is essential; trouble is that it’s a god given thing which CW had in abundance!

Let's try and keep to topic.  Everbrite once again at the centre of childish exchanges.  Give it a rest or go and play elsewhere.

I agree with you VC - the comment was aimed in jest at Frank with whom I have an acceptable gentleman’s agreement with. Must admit I was taken aback by the accusation which incidentally I don’t necessarily disagree with.  Perhaps yesterday’s result played its part; had a big sulk afterwards!
67  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jay Williams on: November 25, 2018, 13:40:31 pm
Easy to agree on this - is there a delay in him signing? Has he been offered a contract? Is he keeping his powder dry?
68  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Taking of Grimsby Pelham 123. November 24/11. on: November 24, 2018, 20:51:48 pm
Think avoiding that yellow card may explain JJOT not being at his best in the last few games........................................

He is so out of form that its hards to understand. Lets hope your theory is right on the potential yellow card ban.

15th is bang on for where we should be with this lot on current form, January could be interesting..how much will we get for KVV? Plus who will replace him..

Hopefully we will get a fair amount for him but as you indicate how do you replace such a quality player.

The good - buchs, Pierre, foley, Williams, Kvv

The far from good - Hoskins, Taylor, facey, McWilliams, o,toole

The ok - turnbull, Powell, Cornell

Circle post match assessment was spot on.

Interesting and listening to KC appraisal after the game who said bascically the passing was poor and we lacked quality when we had the time to be more constructive. It was a pretty brutal assessment with certain players maybe shown the door come January. Certainly no wishy washy shown. An elderly relative has told me (at game) that the midfield was poor, nobody could pass, Hoskins not poor or good, Cornell and Turnbull ok. He assured me that Turnbull sub was purely tactical (he thought) - so thats a relief! Glad we have KvV at mo' !!!

We were keeping it tight until Taylor came back into the team #Carthorse

Freestone thought that Pierre and Taylor were fine , commenting that from a defensive point of view Taylor did better. He also said Taylors passing let him down.....at times.

Facey was hopeless!

From what I can gather Hoskins had a err...................disappointing game. I look forward to read balanced personal reports on the game.

I see Coddington has conceded 4 goals inside the 1st 45 mins tonight for Guiseley. They are 3-4 down at half time.

He will fit in nicely next year 😂😂😂😂

How is that so amusing?

Do you? As I said, delusional. As to that Trust meeting to which you keep referring, bit hypocritical considering you were one of those belittling the poor sod who spoke out.
With regards the SOS fund, how the hell would you know what I did or didn't contribute? Huh? More Neverbrite bullcrap!

Morning great one? How are you today?
