21  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cheltenham Town (a) Play-off Semi-final 2nd Leg on: June 22, 2020, 21:28:24 pm
What a truly amazing performance, dominated throughout. Well done Keith , you got everything spot on tonight, the preparation, the mental strength. I have criticised in the past, when frustrated, but tonight you and the lads gave us one of best ever games, that’s up there with the best. Absolutely buzzing UTC

Really good commitment and attitude first half, really taking the game to them, great to see. More of the high tempo , tough tackling and who knows, enjoying this so far.
23  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cheltenham Town (h) Play-off Semi-final 1st Leg on: June 18, 2020, 21:02:46 pm
Slow to get going  , poor distribution, no cutting edge and uninspiring substitutions. Pollock for McCormack, adding more energy , should have been the first substitution, hey ho.
24  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Quite on here. on: March 25, 2020, 15:15:46 pm
Came home from work last Wednesday, had a fever, slight cough, shortness of breath.

Breathing wasn't in the background anymore, I felt every breath, focused on each breath, extreme fatigue and was in bed 14-16 hours a day.

As of today my breathing has suddenly become a lot better, i'm not noticing myself breathe any more if that makes sense?

Loss of appetite, loss of sense of smell and taste, and lost 9lb in weight! Fevers on and off over the week, high of 38.5 and a low of 36.1, times of shivers and shakes.

Slowly returning to normal now thank god.....
Pleased to hear your'e getting better now, take care.

The very best wishes to all the Board's readers and contributors.  I hope you all can stay fit and healthy, and that you and your loved-ones come through this unscathed.

I second that, best wishes to everyone and their families. Best wishes to you Baldy and your family too.
26  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Grecians come to town on Saturday 22.02.20 on: February 22, 2020, 20:04:24 pm
Good performance today, especially second half. Exeter were not up to much, didn't know how to break us down when we had men behind the ball and looked quite ordinary. Pollock looked really up for it when he came on, making some excellent runs and tackles. Jones had his best game to date too. Credit to Curle today, he gets a lot of stick, but got tactics and substitutions spot on today , although an early goal always helps. Nice to be back in the play offs, just need to stay there now and on todays showing , look a decent organised team again.
27  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Walsall away 15.02.20 #selloutthebescot on: February 15, 2020, 19:04:13 pm
The conditions certainly were a major factor today , as first half we were by far the better team , Morton could have easily have scored a couple of goals before his first and Walsall showed nothing at all. Second half was a different story, we couldn't clear the ball at all and they started having a a lot of joy down the wings, our weak point. Curle thought bringing on Harriman might stop the threat and for a while it did and we had 2 excellent chances at 2-1 , to go further ahead and spurned them. Taking off Morton was a big mistake, he was playing well and didn't deserve to be subbed, Oliver never really got into it. The biggest annoying thing for me though , was at the end when we had the perfect chance for Goode to launch a throw into the box, to possibly try to win the game and we mucked about, culminating in them breaking and scoring, shooting ourselves in the foot, big time. We never seem to press teams in the final 10 mins, looking for a winner, we often try to settle for a point , or hold a lead when winning and the majority of times concede a goal in doing so.So frustrating!
28  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon Town (Home) 11.02.20 on: February 11, 2020, 22:04:50 pm
Played OK first half and matched them, but offered nothing in the second have apart, from Goodes effort. We need to score the first goal, the longer games go, we run out of ideas. I thought at Derby, we started to look jaded, thought the same Saturday and tonight. Need to somehow grind a result out on Saturday, to halt this mini blip, although it won't be pretty!
29  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Your matchday experience on: February 06, 2020, 21:23:02 pm
Being in my fifties, i normally prefer to sit at matches, watch the football and sing on occasions. At Derby, my seat was right at the back of the upper tier, row x, which meant i had to stand the whole game and i absolutely bloody loved it, singing along the whole game. The larger away followings, really do whip up the average fan into a more vocal supporter and lead to a more pleasurable experience, win or lose, which make you realise why you still love following the cobblers after all these years and all the dark days along the way.
30  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Macclesfield Away (01/02/20) on: February 01, 2020, 20:27:13 pm
Good away win in the end, despite not playing our best, we ground out the 3 points. Macc looked poor second half and rarely troubled our goal. Martin played his best game by far, with Watson again looking very good. Only downer for me , was i managed to pick up a parking ticket Cry Cry
31  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Welcome lloyd van jones on: February 01, 2020, 20:16:01 pm
I thought he had a very good debut and looks an excellent addition. He was very good on the ball, composed and won a lot of headers, impressed.
32  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Macclesfield Away (01/02/20) on: February 01, 2020, 14:55:55 pm
Poor first half, not much football being played from either side. We look tired and will have to up our game to get 3 points. Decent away following, but little to cheer about. Jones looks decent, but a bit too much hoof ball first half.
33  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Sc***horpe 28.1.2020 on: January 28, 2020, 21:55:24 pm
Great win tonight, especially with the back line having to be shuffled around. The squad are all really playing their part, the new lads look up for it , the goal difference is creeping up, times are good. Wonder if we may bring another central defender in now Turnbull is injured, doubtful for Macclesfield according to radio N'pton.
34  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Derby County (h) FA Cup Fourth Round - 24 Jan 2020 on: January 24, 2020, 22:10:36 pm
Excellent result tonight, only managed to catch a bit of the second half as at this franchise trade show in Liverpool, working till gone 9! What I did see, thought we matched them and Hoskins had the beating of his man on the right. Still gutted to have not been there, was the atmosphere good , under lights. Definitely be at pride park for the replay, we’ll done everyone.
35  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Orient Tuesday night on: January 21, 2020, 22:23:27 pm
It was disappointing to concede what looked a clear push on Wharton, as we had defended well until then , yet in the end we could have easily lost it. Shame Wharton will miss Fridays game, as he has been immense these last few weeks, can't see it being overturned on appeal. To be fair, although we should have been more than one up at half time , in the end ,the lads deserve some credit for keeping their composure after the sending off and seeing the game out, a year ago we would have folded and lost that, so plenty of positives.
36  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Welcome Back - Paul Anderson on: January 14, 2020, 19:52:39 pm
Fully deserved this, goes about his business quietly. No mean feat to be only on the losing team once in his 14 appearances
37  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Salford (a) 11/01 on: January 12, 2020, 09:23:47 am
What did people think of the ground today? One of the strangest venues I’ve been to since the Withdean!
Tidy little ground, but all very ‘temporary’ and miles away from anywhere.
I don’t see the Salford business model standing the test of time. They had fewer than 1900 home fans there today....and this is whilst they are only charging a tenner. They are a smaller outfit than Macclesfield I’d say. Next year a lot of the revenue will dry up, away teams wont be taking a thousand every game once the novelty has worn off.
Yes they have a rich group of backers....but they still have financial fair play to contend with so it’s not like they can throw loads of money at the team.
I thought it was a typical non league ground. I suppose it is good enough for their level of support and looked decent enough, but the facilities were poor. You would have thought a bigger toilet block in the away end would of been high on their priorities , especially with all the high numbers attending. I sat in the seats and had a larger gentleman next to me, which meant i was only purched half on my seat, did other people find it a little cramped?
It's the sort of ground , that if you get a result, like yesterday, it's a good day out. Get beaten, with the lack of facilities, problem parking etc, it's the sort of place the majority of fans will give a miss too , unless something was riding on the result. Yesterday was cheap and a new ground for everyone, the novelty will wear off with fans and time will catch up with them. Money alone cannot sustain you , you need fans, ask Rushden.

A great win today. Started well both halves and got our just rewards. Two great finishes and a super save from Cornell at the end. Didn't really think we were too troubled second half, contained them very well, some bizarre bookings of Turnbull and Cornell mind. The whole team played well, Lines improved 2nd half, the defence won nearly everything in the air, apart from their goal, Oliver worked tirelessly , my MOM today was Watson, who i thought had a terrific game. Great away support again everybody, well done. It really is a pleasure going away with performances and support like the last 2 games. You do sense the momentum is growing, the scenes at the end showing the togetherness of everyone, brilliant.
39  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: FA Cup 2019-20 on: January 09, 2020, 21:57:54 pm
Gutted to be missing this. Hopefully i can sneak away from the trade show, before it ends at 8 , grab some food from the restaurant and find a corner to sit  and watch it on my phone , if left alone. I know where i would much rather be, but a small consolation i can still watch it live.

Can't see the local authorities allowing a Friday night game as the Saints "have got there first"....

Can't see the club agreeing to a Sunday game as they have a league game against Scunny on Tuesday night, I know we played Sunday Tuesday before the Checkatrade game, but the league would be a different matter I believe. Unless of course the league game gets shunted to the Wednesday.

Saturday at some point...12.30 on TV, 3pm not, 5.30pm on TV and 7.45pm on TV

Derby played Accirington away in the 4th round last season, that was the televised 1230 Saturday game.
I'm desperate for a sunday game, as at a trade show Friday and Saturday in Liverpool and can't get out of it. It p#sses me off i might miss our biggest game for years massively , currently have everything crossed hoping!
