If anyone else is going to Ade's funeral on Friday from Northampton and would like a lift I have a couple of seats.

God bless you Ade, so many happy memories of Cobblers away days and a genuinely lovely, big-hearted man xx

I think Tranmere will feel hard done by as they battled hard, defended well and probably deserved to walk away with a point.  Yes their keeper kept them in it but equally Duke stopped them getting a point.  We were sloppy for large sections of the match in my opinion.

But 3 points is 3 points .. a big Phew!!

Disagree, thought there was a lot of goal threat out there today. Could SHOULD have been 3 or 4.

Once again our inpecable reputation has been sullied by a bunch of ill educated yobs. Who's only pleasure is to inflict misery and upset on their fellow man.

But that's stewards for ya..............

... and a club who think it's a good idea to sell pints in 2 pint glasses .. I wonder how many had double the number of pints they would normally buy at a match.

Yes it was handbags at dawn but imo the stewards do need to look at their approach to a harmless situation.  I can't remember the last time I went to an away match when everyone sat down and handbags aren't thrown at the majority of those.  They chose to seat us all immediately behind the goal area and you always find more people stand when the blocks are directly behind the goal.  The last time I saw any trouble was at Grimsby and there the stewards had the same zero tolerance attitude ... could there be a connection, I think so.   Would have been so much easier to ask the few people who complained if they would mind moving.

As for the official statement .. very bias in what they have chosen to leave out ... fact!

As for the youngsters on there 2hr lunch stops .. it would have made no difference as the youngsters weren't involved on Saturday.  As it happens my lot had a cultural trip to Lincoln with its cathedral and castle, I wouldn't call that a pub in the middle of nowhere, would you?

I am nervous already  Grin  I did ask Chris Wilder at the Open Forum for 7 points from 9 from these 3 home matches, he has delivered 6 of them.  So, I will take a draw tomorrow but will of course be delighted with 3 points.  Come what may it's not going to be any easy game and I will be a nervous wreck for the duration.

20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters' Trust statement on: January 16, 2014, 19:04:30 pm
Some years ago I attended a meeting at Sixfields arranged and hosted by the Trust about the redevelopment.  The leaders of the 3 main political parties were in the chair and WNDC were represented.  If I recall accurately Keith Barwell of Saints fame was also at the head table.  All the local politicians said their respective pieces and were poor all round, especially the LibDem of Astragate fame.

The room was packed with well over a hundred supporters present.  It came to questions and answers and the the Trust's head man was MC.  At the time the redevelopment was going nowhere and the mood of the supporters was tense and agitated.  Many wanted to ask questions, myself included.  The MC was significantly and conspicuously biased in favour of certain Trust members, one of whom I remember (a lady) was allowed 2 or 3 questions to the exclusion of people present who were not even allowed one question.  At that point I decided the Trust was a cosy clique of best pals and I drove home feeling nothing but contempt for the Trust.  My attitude hasn't really changed since and reinforces some of the views being expressed above.

I confess that would have been me  Grin  Kiss  That would not have been anything to do with the Trust being cliquey, more a case of being being pushy and (a bit) loud (mouthy)  Wink  I am lovely really  Kiss

Can't remember who the Chair was that night .. but I now often Chair the Forums .. probably to shut me up ... a bit Cool

PS was I pissed at Grimsby ... I dread to think
