Get well and back soon.

Here is a good article to show that Evans is the pot calling the kettle black.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5412612.stm

In his case, he called Kettle the cheat.
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Steve "Tubby McFatf**k" Evans on: August 25, 2012, 12:05:00 pm
Evans is an absolute tosser.  We have beaten his sides many times in the past and he never ever has the grace to accept defeat.  He is a sore loser and should never be allowed in the game after his dodgy dealings in the past.

Ok, Rotherham were probably a little unlucky to lose last night but they were given pretty much every decision but that useless ref Kettle.  Every time we went forward in the second half they were awarded a soft free kick.  Their keeper took an age over every goal kick and free kick he took.  The three yellow cards issued to our players were extremely soft too.  Evans, I doubt you were robbed.

5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / HotelEnders Fanzine First Issue Slight Delay on: August 25, 2012, 10:03:08 am
Hello everyone

Thanks very much to all who have sent in articles for the issue that was supposed to be out today.

Massive apologies but I have had to delay it slightly.  I had a head injury on holiday two weeks ago and ended up with bruising inside my ear and a fractured skull.

I am on the mend now though and managed to make the game Tuesday and will be at Sixfields today.  Hopefully the first issue of the season will be out for the Wolves tie on Thursday.

If anyone else wants to submit anything, you can do by Sunday.

Thanks for understanding and see you at Sixfields.

Mark

Osman will always be a Cobblers legend for the reason...

He silenced the Kop, He silenced the Kop, that Abdul Osman, He silenced the Kop...
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jake Robinson scores a goal. on: July 20, 2012, 10:13:15 am
Ok, I'm going to defend Jake Robinson here too.

I have had the privialige of working with the players over the summer as part of the sport nutrition team and JR is a pretty switched on lad.  He has a great attitude off the pitch and a high level of enthusiasm and commitment.  Hopefully we will see things work on the pitch for him next season.

Belated thanks everyone.  It was a lovely surprise to win the award (and to drop the trophy on the pitch in the photo shoot).

I almost missed the presentation as it was really busy with the fanzine and I thank David Cardoza for coming out the front and finding me haha.

I have to say, Frank Large's family were absolutly brilliant too, public thanks to them and to everyone who has supported mine and Jules' charity ventures and the fanzine over the years.  Very much appreciated and see you all next season.

...sounds like an acceptance speech there... Grin
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: C&E to stop printing daily on: May 08, 2012, 08:59:53 am
Ok, I'm a little late on this thread (sorry work has been busy of late keeping me off here).

I am gutted about the Chron going weekly.  I read it every day sometimes quite in depth and sometimes just by skimming the headlines.  The loss of five editions per week is damaging on our community (or what is left of it).

I know many readers who don't get on with technology and will miss their daily edition (news, crossword, stars) and they simply will miss out).

I know I write a column in the Chron weekly, which I must add, I don't get paid for but I think it is great that give myself and fellow fans the opportunity to express our opinions in print.  I also write our running club's column which our members absolutely love when their name appears in print.  They are elated when a photo appears too.  This will not have the same impact on a website - we have online content already to publish this stuff.

Finally there is the obvious impact of jobs.  The journalists who have been loyal over the years -Jefferson Lake, Jeremy Casey, Steve Pitts...too many to mention.

The old boys who sell the Chron in town and their lives literally rely on this...it is not about the money to them.

Don't forget all the local newsagents who are trying to compete with every Tesco Express and Sainsburys Direct appearing on every street corner...that stops footfall going through their doors five days a week.

Paperboys and girls who rely on the daily round to earn a few pennies and a valuable introduction into the world of work plus responsibility and self respect.  Now there is just another excuse for young teenagers to sit on their backsides and do nothing.

Yes, this is a very sad situation indeed and one  that smacks me of greed from somewhere at the top.  As Steve R says, the Chron should still be a viable resource in this county and should continue in its present form.

Which game Linda?
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEIGHBOURLY THING on: February 07, 2012, 15:55:14 pm
I say good luck to Kettering, I've never had a problem with them and would hate to see them go out of business.  The only club I would love to see go bust would be Franchaise FC.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: BBC Late Kick Off Featuring The Cobblers on Monday... on: February 04, 2012, 10:24:25 am
Haha, it would have only been 10 minutes of fame...  I actually crawled out of the woodwork before I got the call from the Beeb yesterday too so it more of a coincidence  Grin

The plan was to do some post match interviews too.

The BBC still want to do this and they may come to Dagenham next week.  Watch this space...
