The amount of money people spend on TV is astounding.

Couldn't agree more. I have very good broadband. No TV packages at all. But watch everything I want.

You could take my TV away tomorrow, and I wouldn't care. But my music, that's a totally different story.

Thomas circa 2018...In one of his broadcasts to the faithful...
Hasn't mentioned it since but I like to remind everyone...
Maybe he'd like to revise his costings to give Northampton's football club a fairer amount of redevelopment from the land they are getting by association and stand to make a fortune from.
£5.8m for just 10 boxes in a highly polished non league stand isn't what we want ot need..
A finished East stand to a reasonable standard and a 3000 capacity increase of the south stand is the very least you'd expect from such a vast sum, a sum that's due our football club.
Don't fall for the pathetic drawings that's about to drop...
They are disrespectful and not fit for a club like Northampton  Town.
Fairs fair..

I absolutely agree with you regarding the delayed development of the ground and what we require to push on. KT cannot hide from what he initially pledged. But what is it with you and a few others, that just don't get the disconnect between the land and the club? The land owes us nothing. Only DC suggested that the land was for enabling development of the club. It's a shame that the connection wasn't made by the inept council.  But it's blindingly obvious why the council were never going to make a link between the stadium and the land. Imagine if they stated that the land sale was made to enable the expansion of the ground (their asset BTW). Then nothing gets done. It would conjure up another DC situation, with their name above the door again. There was no way in hell they were ever going to join the two projects together again. So we are where we are. Effectively taken out of the game, not by the clubs owners. But by the knobs who sold the land.

Appalling bullies all! No one is innocent

I'm still interested in what exactly the "opposing opinion is". At times I struggle to agree with anyone on here  Grin I admit it's been a very bad time for a while if you reside in the pro Trust, or anti KT camps. Great time for the fence sitters  Grin

I do agree on one thing though. If you're daft enough to take it all too serious. The internet is probably not the best place for you.

Congratulations to Portsmouth, promoted back to the Championship. Well done too to Stockport (Champions) and Mansfield, both of whom gained promotion to League 1 tonight.

Forest Green dropped back out of the League.....

So happy about FGR. Can't stand Dale Vince.

Love Portsmouth. So over the moon about that.

And happy to see Mansfield up. Who we have a strange rivalry with.
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Interesting Stat on: Yesterday at 06:24:23
Take those 10 goals away, how many points would we have?

Either less, more, or the same.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kieron Bowie on: Yesterday at 06:22:19
Irrelevant thread as it's been confirmed he ain't coming back!

Let's hope were already looking for a replacement for him and the unreplaceble Leonard...

That will be interesting. Replacing the unreplaceable...

If you seriously think thats Kelvin, then you need to stop drinking the canal water.  Grin

That's his sense of humour coming out. I know.... It's very difficult to spot.

Where did you get that figure from?

It came to him one night in a dream.

He was standing on the hill at Sixfields, looking out at the vast expanse of wasteland. When (in a bizarre twist of fate) Kelvin Thomas called him, begging him to front up the whole Sixfields development project. After realising, that after all these years, Dave's figures do stack up. You actually can build anything you like, with completely imaginary money. And no business acumen at all.

I canít believe the Trust didnít just ring Nige and tell him not to be friends with Dave and Kelvin, to make him pull out of the deal. That surely should have headed off any deal. It worked for Kelvin with Goodwill  Grin

How can anybody even contemplate putting money into a fan led development fund, when the club would currently flatly refuse to acknowledge it. As for the use of historical community land. It will be gone in a year.

Disappointed that Duston hasnít been on for a rantÖ I was with looking forward to the laugh in the way into London this morning.

He's not been told what to say yet.

:)Iím not pouring scorn on things tel I was just pointing out that I think most fans would be hoping/expecting an increase in budget given the club have been openly trying to attract investment into the club.
I think thatís a fair comment rather than pouring scorn.
I think the new investment is good as it will bring fresh business acumen as well as hopefully a bit more investment on the playing side.
Iím on side with this not pouring scorn on it   Smiley

Not aimed at you at all Shoey.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Welcome Nigel Le Quesne on: April 15, 2024, 19:27:32 pm
He hasnít suggested that he is here to invest heavily in the club. He has hinted more at initially helping out with his business experience. He'll be acutely aware that there are some rather toxic characters in the shadows, one has already poured scorn on things. He has acquired a quarter stake. It could of course be the introduction to bigger things in terms of his involvement. In the meantime, I am more than happy to wait and see.

I know, bunch of shysters! I would just give this bloke from Jersey a little more time though!

I already know him.
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: 25% stake on: April 15, 2024, 15:53:12 pm
Donít forget the Beds test as well!

They will be very similar. Can you please build a 15,000 all seater stadium, whilst breaking even and provide a championship football team. Because we can from our bedrooms.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 15, 2024, 15:09:31 pm
Nothing from the current board and their hangers on interests me...
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: 25% stake on: April 15, 2024, 15:07:47 pm
How lovely to have another Nigel on board.

I don't think we should get too excited until he has passed the Trusts fit and proper test.

Well done Grumpy old man.

Once again. Thanks for arranging it all Deepcut.

These questions will be submitted which we all deserve the respect that they are answered, regardless of what stance our deliberately fractured support base take.

I wouldn't say our support base is fractured at all. As far as I can gather both at home games, and on my travels. Cobblers supporters universally agree on what is required for us to push on and attain a degree of success, further than we have this season. Virtually all agree that expansion and financial stability are key to a better future. We all seem to agree on the completion of the East stand. I would say the main difference comes around the methods used to push our individual versions of achieving it. But why is that such an emotive thing for some. Calling less vociferous supporters "sheep" or "happy clappers" achieves nothing. Especially when in real terms their efforts match those of the more vocal and entitled. I might not agree with you on a number of things Dave. But I absolutely respect your right to an opinion. Where I draw the line, is when lies are used to thrust home a point. Something you have never used to stress your concerns.
