So are the dream team worth their salt, or is total childs play a bit too difficult considering it's gone on for about 5 years?

As I have sad until I’m bored with it. If the council don’t want to let the land go to the club, then just get on and sell to someone else. If they do want to let it go to the club, just make sure that any agreement is watertight in terms of the use of the enabling money and its division between the development of NTFC, plus what the owners can personally gain from it. It actually is child’s play.
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: Yesterday at 18:49:57
If you consider the stadium as its own entity, double its income.

The only difference it that we would be private tenants rather than council scum.

I doubt it would double anything. At a generous estimate they just about break even from our part of the deal.

I've never really worked out what we bring in from match day revenue, including season tickets. I’d imagine it’s quite a bit south of 2 million. I can’t much change out of 1.3 million on just the players wages. Throw in the rest of the staff that take an income, there's your season match day money gone. Yeah, there’s a few quid in endorsements, hospitality, conferencing etc.

There’s no money at all in lower league football. In fact, I doubt it there is more than a handful of teams that operate at a genuine profit in any league. Where as far as I know, the Saint show a very healthy return. We have to be realistic, as you were in what you was saying previously. The only thing that is viable, is the enabling money from the adjoining land. And that should only ever be signed over to ANYONE, in receipt of a full legally agreed development plan, that shows a clear path to the ground development. In fact, total child’s play to any developer worth their salt.

So it would be good for NTFC then 😉

It would be miraculous for us.  Grin
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: Yesterday at 16:16:59
Why would the Saints want anything to do with us? They are a successful commercial venture in their own right, with fantastic brand identity and existing excellent facilities.

Imagine how many of the cards they would hold in any business negotiations. They have a ground and the land it sits on for a start. Plus thousands more season ticket holders. Huge corporate entertainment and conferencing facilities, and endorsements that make ours look paltry. Where’s we have a ground and facilities worth a quid. Other than that, I’d imagine they’d bite our hand off 😜😜

Yes, but it’s the so called ring fenced money that’s probably one of the main bones of contention with
people who aren’t privy to or au fait with all the complexities and legalities involved and possibly, who knows, historically a major stumbling block in moving things forward. Maybe, just maybe, if he’d used the ring fenced money he said he had ring fenced to finish the stand and actually got the stand finished 4 or 5
years ago, then the council may have been more, trusting of him, compliant and obliging with the land issues and it wouldn’t have got this far down the road, the stand would be finished, KT and DB would have their profit and possibly  moved on, the club wouldn’t be 6, 7, 8 or however millions in debt and may even been left with a couple of quid in the bank. Just a thought.

I’d still rather deal with a solution and the here and now.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 12, 2021, 19:38:05 pm

Hammy why do you always want to shift the blame away from KT?  Its you fans who have an agenda  Roll Eyes or its NBC  never KT

It is a combination of all involved, I'm not excusing anyone. I have been trying for what seems forever now to get people to move on past the so called “ring fenced” money.

I have said right from the start, even when I was on the Trust board, that nothing can happen until something concrete is said about the land. If it is not part of the clubs future, and the council don’t see it as so, then just sell it to somebody completely unrelated to the club. The constant state of flux over the land is what has, and what will continue to attract owners who might not prioritise the stadium, or the club. Hence my interest in the parameters of the original lease and tenancy agreement.

As they say “it’s the hope that kills you”.

7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 12, 2021, 08:50:23 am
You don't have to read or contribute to the thread if you feel it is beneath you. Nobody is disputing that NBC saw proof of funds, that is why they chose this buyer over a.n.other. Here is a little bit of news for you though, they no longer exist so pursuing them won't get ya very far. As for trying to hold the Trust responsible that really is rich. If you feel so hard-done by the whole business then get thee on the Trust board and pursue it rather than bleat on about how the poor wee diddums bwoke your sorry lickle heart and stop you getting beddy-byes.

The lease and tenancy agreement must still exist, as will the confines of that agreement. But like I say.. Keep up the good old work of regurgitation 😀😀😀
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 11, 2021, 20:09:19 pm
Fishing again Terry, I thought you would have realised that no one on the Trust board reads this anymore  Wink

It’s not fishing at all. I said exactly the same to the Trust boards faces. It is ridiculous to keep repeating the same cr@p about years of hurt and broken promises. Ask the council if they’ve seen proof of funds. If they have, then pursue them. Ask them what they installed into the original deal to hold the owners to account. If that's “fishing” then there is no fcuking hope.

Or, let’s just listen to the same sheep bleating on about how the big bad men lied to them, and bwoke their liccle hearts.

Please just show up for this Town...
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 11, 2021, 13:06:53 pm

Is this what you lot on here really want from your club?  Really ?

No.. Nobody with an ounce of sanity wants to look at the East stand like it is. Or face possible relegation. But like you and a few others on here, we’re not sure what to do. In my opinion, and I have said it numerous times, the original lease agreement is the key. If there is nothing in it about maintaining the ground, or about the East stand, we’re stuck with what with have. I’d imagine after many years of the Teust doing nothing more than making the odd noise, they must have requested the lease. As well as exploring how concrete any promises that were made are..

Just imagine a crazy world, where the supporters of NTFC had a representative body, that could could make it their purpose to drill into the detail of any agreement, and in turn hold to account either those that run the club, or those that should have held those that run the club to account. The ground is on a bloody lease. That has to be the starting point.

Now all we need is that representative body.... 😀😀😛😛
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 10, 2021, 11:50:02 am
What about the promises made a long time pre covid, ie money "ringfenced" to finish the stand. Not that I necessarily disagree with your other points, it's just that this was a
pre-requisite in getting the club in the first place.

12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Season ticket holders on: April 08, 2021, 19:56:47 pm

Well done NTFC...
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jon Brady on: April 03, 2021, 21:55:19 pm
He has something that is very rare these days in football... Honesty and integrity. That put him above many others in my book.
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: THOMAS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED on: April 02, 2021, 18:31:26 pm
They tried mate but were outbid by big spending KT and his proof of £4m investment.

Then lobby the council to see how that deal was ratified without a specific agreement in terms of how the development was going to be delivered. Even if we all agreed that KT and DB have not delivered on what was promised, what practical use it for us and the Trust to be nothing more than whinging spectators of the whole debacle. I 100% stated over and over again to the Trust, and any other poor sod that would listen, that you have to pursue the real owners of the ground. Go after the council for the lease agreement. If it doesn’t state anything about an agreement to finished the East stand, all you have is a couple of dishonest businessmen. That’s about as rare as Beds mentioning about a community owned club. Meaning that all of the moaning in the world will not shift the owners. But we can all push the council to make sure that any land deal is bullet proof in terms of making sure it had to include investment into the club and the stadium.

If, as there should be, some mention of ring fenced funds, that was used to secure the lease for a quid, we still push the council to enforce it, or remove their names off the lease.

Going after KT and BD is utterly pointless.
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: THOMAS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED on: April 02, 2021, 15:09:03 pm
The club was virtually debt free and was sold for £1, It's now £7M in debt and has an asking price of between £2M and £4M. A slight difference that could be the reason there are currently no buyers, don't you think?

The reason there are currently no buyers, is because the assets of the club amount to diddly squat without the enabling land. Plus the huge amount of capital required to bolster up a pathetic little stadium that was not fit for purpose from day one.

The land will always be the only thing that will attract owners, other than the Trust. And you know as well as me, we would be in exactly the same position with the Trust in charge. The fact that the stadium is leased is the issue.

There is not one thing stopping the council flogging the land to DB and KT based solely on the caveat of seeing a direct return back into the football club. In fact, the council could flog the land tomorrow and put the money into improving the stadium that they own themselves. All they would need to insist upon, is controlling the contractor payments.. The last ownership and the current ownership will not develop the stadium without that land, can everyone just get that into their heads, so we can least move past crying over the same spilled milk.

I am so bored of hearing the same regurgitated shyte doing the rounds. The council are the ones we should be concentrating our efforts on. They own the fcuking stadium. They can impose reasonable upkeep on the tenant anytime they like. And if you and anybody believes that they signed over the ground on the understanding that there was sufficient funds to complete the East stand, put their bloody feet to the fire and ask for the the documentation around that agreement. If they can’t provide it, then there's your answer. It would clearly mean it was the council who served up the club and the supporters as sacrificial lambs to any potentially unscrupulous owner who came along.

The Trust should be looking at the source of the agreement, for anything potentially actionable, rather than joining in all the crying about the big bad lying boys, who have crapped on us.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Massive rant but bear with me on: March 30, 2021, 12:05:18 pm
Right, this is going to be a long and rambling tirade of criticism and honesty so bear with me, I've had a few.
I think it's the return of TFAMH that's stoked my ire, especially when, as soon as KT is mentioned he's straIght
on it, then denies he's his number one fan. Nothing against you personally Hamster but you can't deny the club
and the development haven't really moved on since he got here despite all the promises. If anything we're in a worse position, further in debt and if/when we get relegated this season we could be staring oblivion in the face. If I'm wrong I'll be straight
on here to admit my negativity. Anyway on to my other massive annoyance, Northampton people not supporting the club
that represents the place they were born, live, work, where their children were born and ultimately where most will spend the
rest of their lives. Why devote your football supporting life to some other town or city 100 plus miles away or London, just
because they happened to be successful when you were growing up and developing your interest in football. Not picking on
Hamster again, and I apologise if you were born on the Kings Road, but if you're a similar age to me, I imagine your affinity
with Chelsea began with their FA cup win in 1970, just as many others began their "support" with other teams in similar
successful  periods. As I said, this is going to consist of criticism and honesty. I wasn't born in Northampton, but have lived
here since I was 2 years old. When I was at school, I thought I was a Man Utd fan, Best, Charlton, Law etc, like most, not all,
youngsters at the time, I was enamoured with the big names. Just like Evers, probably in the fifties, with Newcastls and Jackie Milburn, even though I was still going to the County Ground whenever  pocket money would allow. By the time I was 14 or fifteen, probably coinciding with our promotion as runners up to Lincoln, my total affinity to Cobblers was affirmed and despite being relegated immediately, there was no going back, I'd grown out of shallow affinity. That's why I just can't get grown men supporting
teams from distant horizons with which they have absolutely no connection apart from latching on to them when they had a bit of success when they were kids. As I've said previously, it doesn't happen in any other sport, or at any other level. How many English people support Brazil, Germany or Italy because they're more successful than England?

Whilst I'm in the business of making you "incredulous". You might want to throw in the Seattle Sounders as well. I've got a genuine soft spot for them and attend their games on rare occasions. I don't mind a bit of UCL action as well..

I'll await your judgement your honour  Grin Grin Tongue Tongue
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Season ticket holders on: March 30, 2021, 11:43:46 am
I just really want to get back in the ground and watch bloody football. For all the cr@p that goes on around it, my greatest love is that 90 minutes.

I know there are a ton of issues around the redev and huge political implications in the fore. But putting all of that aside, there has to be a way of doing it safely now.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: THOMAS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED on: March 30, 2021, 11:39:52 am
I don’t agree mate, it’s all Thomas’s fault, he’s the Chairman and if he had one ounce of interest he would have overseen what Curle was doing, after all he’s a self professed “football man” and should have know what quality we needed.
Compound this with the Nuttall debacle, the guy should be sacked for gross misconduct.

Does DB use Thomas for any of his other business interests?

19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: THOMAS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED on: March 29, 2021, 20:39:37 pm
You were probably the only one laughing.

I doubt that very much. I'm quite confident that most of the lurching crew on here attract plenty of derision. We’re never more than a couple of wins away from content supporters. And conversely, a couple of losses from all out rebellion.

20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: THOMAS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED on: March 29, 2021, 11:38:47 am
David and Kelvin is it Hammy. Your support for these 2 is unreal. I can only imagine how u would be if we had owners who actually cared about the club.
This season again has proved that they have no interest in taking NTFC forward. A free pass to a higher division and still nothing, just going through the motions. I know many supporters are happy with just keeping the doors open but every other club has done this too.
The leagues lowest scorers say everything,
as someone posted, we are the smallest club with 100 year history yet have the biggest catchment area, yet most fans accept it when the owner says we are a club not worth developing
Has Kelvin even bothered to visit in the last year ?

I'm not sure how once again, you have assumed that by me suggesting the obvious, that it automatically equates to supporting someone.

It was purely a bit of a joke.

Aren't you a bit concerned about how much this is all getting to you, if the sheer mention of their names has such a profound impact on you  Grin Grin
