I'd rather cut my dick off with a rusty hacksaw blade than watch Strictly Dumb Prancing.
There is undoubtedly some merit in that, bit drastic though. I have never ever watched Strictly Come Prancing.

What is your obsession with GB News? I'm sure you've mentioned them before. I've never watched it but I might seeing as you seem to love it.
I watch GB News all the time, it's the only news channel I trust. I wouldn't go near the BBC.

At the risk of sounding like a drama Queen … These next 6 weeks do feel a bit like a “make or break” run of games. Ironically the one I’m least confident about is Stockport away - the only team we are playing out of the top 10! Carlisle (H)- 6th Mansfield (A) - 5th Swindon (H) - 8th Orient (H) - 1st Salford (A) - 9th Stockport (A) - 13th Mansfield (H) - 5th Barrow (H) - 4th
I think you'll find the Barrow game is away, we beat them 3 - 1 at home.

I thought England were the better side last night, frankly I didn't think France were that great. The first goal should have been disallowed for a foul on Saka, and Kane should have had a penalty first half. France's first goal had an element of luck about it as it went through a crowd of players and Pickford was unsighted. The second goal was a clear deflection which would have gone straight to Pickford otherwise. It was a good header though.
The ref had a poor game and seemed to be on their side all night. How he didn't give that second penalty for a blatant barge on Mount straight away I do not know.
I thought Saka was the best player on the pitch and the French just couldn't handle him when he ran forward with the ball, why Southgate took him off only he knows. Sterling did nothing and I am not the greatest fan of Mount, although I concede he did win the second pen. Bringing Grealish on with two minutes to go was a joke, he should have come on a half time along with Rashford. Henderson held us back in my view.
As for Mbappe, he did nothing thanks to Walker - I get sick of the commentators having an orgasm every time he touches the ball.
There is no doubt in my mind that if Kane had scored that second penalty we would have won the game.
Hopefully Morocco will knock out France and Croatia will defeat Argentina as the thought of an Argentina v France final doesn't bear thinking about, for me anyway. I was in a pub on Friday night and the whole place erupted when Holland scored their second goal to make it 2 - 2, no one wanted Argentina to win.

The forward press worked a treat and we look much more dangerous now that midfielders are breaking forward. Could soon be back to full strength with only Koiki and Magloire to regain fitness and no suspensions looming as Guthrie came through the game without a yellow, pity McWilliams picked up another and he will do well to avoid a 2 match ban later in the season. Overall things looking very rosy.
That's weird, I don't remember McWilliams getting booked and there was nothing listed on either the BBC sports app or the Cobblers own website after the game. However they both now say he was booked in the 59th minute so you must be right OAP.

After a performance like that it seems harsh to pick one single player as motm. However I will go for Kieron Bowie who ran his socks off and must have been exhausted by the time he came off. He laid on the first, created two chances for Pinnock and with better finishing could have had a few himself.
He really is beginning to look a player and I hope we can keep him until the end of the season.

Brilliant performance, best this season, at least that I've seen anyway. I have to say though I was really disappointed we didn't keep a clean sheet.
I reckon if Hoskins had been playing today we would have had 6, in fact we should have had 6 anyway.
Well done lads.

I was getting really worried that Salford hadn't been on the TV in the first round, but luckily, it's gone to a replay and is on tonight. I'm sure there will be a massive crowd at Salford tonight for the game, unfortunately one of them will win and I can't stand either !
When was the last time Sky showed a L2 game on TV?. They had an excellent chance today to show 4th (a massive club in Bradford City) v 3rd (The Cobblers who last year made the play off's and are this year gunning for automatic promotion). Instead they went for L1 last night, Portsmouth yet again and today Exeter (yet again) v Ipswich (yet again). As far as TV representation is concerned we would be better off in the National League where we would in on BT 3 or 4 times a season.

We were reported to be interested in signing Kabongo Tshimanga before he signed for Chesterfield for a rumoured large fee. He was expected to sign for Birmingham in September but the move broke down at the 11th hour. Recently he has not been a regular in the starting 11, only starting 3 of the previous 7 league games. As GPC says Chesterfield have won 7 and lost 2 of their 9 home games and they scored in every game and scored 2 or more in 7 of the games. However we have scored 2 or more goals in 5 of our 8 away games and only lost 1. Similar to us Chesterfield have conceded more goals than their promotion chasing rivals. As for our team I would revert to the 4231 system and if Koiki is still unfit I expect Haynes to start at left back and not play Lintott out of position. Sowerby must return to partner McWilliams in front of the back 4 with either Leonard or Fox playing behind Appere with Hoskins and Pinnock wide. I think JB will rest Bowie to the bench to come on later.
Tshimanga was injured in the first half of last season and never played a game after that. He only came back at the start of this season and I would assume he is still not fully fit. It's only a guess though.

I saw that game too, and agree it was a cracking game particularly given the appalling conditions. I thought Exeter were the better side for most of that game but still lost 3 - 2. I also agree it was well reffed by Mr Brakespeare.
I do get a little tired though of Sky showing Plymouth or Portsmouth almost everytime they show a L1 match, also when was the last time they showed a game from L2? The Cobblers would get more exposure if they were in the National League as BT show one game every week from there and all teams are shown over the course of a season.

Radio Northampton, during their brief moments when not talking about the Saints said we had 5 players out yesterday. However I make it 6, Magloire, Koiki, Eppiah, Fox, Hylton and Maxted. I reckon they had forgotten about Eppiah, I know I have.
At least two players would have made the starting line up, Magloire and Koiki with Fox, Hylton and Maxted on the bench. As for Eppiah if he is ever fit he could be a very good player but it is clearly never going to happen so I hope we send him back to Leicester in January and ask for another !
There is no doubt that Newport were the better side yesterday and deserved to win by several goals. They had clearly been watching the second half v Sutton and were in our faces all through the game, quicker on the ball, harder in the tackle and when they cleared the ball out of defence they really hammered it, no pratting about. The ball was in the air far too much and every time we headed the ball it went straight to one of their players.
Pinnock is a liability in the middle, can't head it, can't tackle and is just too slow, on the other hand when he is on the wing he's very good. I couldn't get my head round whey Sowerby was left out to play two right backs, in my view when fit he should always play. I also couldn't understand why we replaced Bowie with Haynes when we were 1 - 0 down, and yes I know it was Haynes cross that eventually led to the goal. I thought Odimayo played well when he came on - a big improvement on his performance against Sutton.
I thought their No 22 Moriah-Welsh looked a good player - he's on loan from Bournemouth - he was in our faces all game and never gave up.
Thank goodness for Burge and Sammy is all I can say, we will need to up our game next week if we are to avoid a defeat at Chesterfield. I'm surprised it's not on the tele.

Leonard just pips Appere and Pinnock. Anyone know what Maxteds problem is and when he will be ble to return. We are stuffed if Burge gets injured!!
He's out for personal reasons and thats all we know, and all we're entitled to know. You're right we will be stuffed if Burge gets injured, although Dadge might be a really good keeper.
