I remember the days when a team consisted of, goalkeeper, right back, left back, right half, centre half, left half, right wing, inside right, centre forward, inside left and left wing. The inside left wore the number 10 jersey, nowadays the term No 10 seems to refer to what exactly as I'm not sure?

Just a small point but why are people calling Justin Edinburgh JED ? His initials are simply JE. I don't remember us calling Chris Wilder CWI or Rob Page RPA or even Aidy Boothroyd ABO. It's not a moan, just curious.

Yesterday they told us Michael Smith was fit and was available for selection, today he didn't play because he wasn't fit. They really haven't got a clue, is it any wonder we are so bad ?

In order for us to be relegated we need to lose our last 2 games and Port Vale need to win their last 3 as we are 7 points ahead of them with a vastly superior goal difference (-10 to their -24). Port Vale have lost their last four games without scoring and have Bolton (H), Walsall (A) and Fleetwood (A) left to play. If they win those three they will deserve to stay up. One point of course will be enough for us to stay up, but with the way we are playing at the moment that might be difficult.
There are plenty of other teams below us of course and surely they can't all overtake us ? As always with the Cobblers though, you just never know.

I thought we played well, but in my opinion the two substitutions killed us. One day McWilliams may be a good player but he looked out of his depth today and this match wasn't for him. Also I really couldn't understand why he brought McDonald on for Williams who was playing well, as that effectively gave the midfield to them. If we needed to make a substitution I would have brought K Anderson on as he could have at least of run with the ball and got us down the other end of the pitch, and would certainly have been a better bet than McWilliams. Still JE is the manager not me so he must have had his reasons.

So what was Teaser's Tims JJOT classic at the end of the programme? Did anybody else miss it?
I doubt anyone heard it. We were told to listen to the end of the interview with JJOT to hear his comment about Ricky Holmes. However the interview was 'gazumped' by some interview with a premiership manager by presumably 5 live, that held no interest for anyone in Northampton. That was after the programme had been filled with two Saints interviews (they played last night), one with the Leicester manager, one with that Zlatan bloke and one with Mears of Bournemouth. There was also an interview with Eion Morgan which I suppose was a bit more relevant than the others. They really are hopeless.

I thought we were ok in the first half and just about deserved our half time lead. However that second half was just about the worst half of football I can ever remember from a Cobblers team and I have been watching them for nigh on 50 years. We just simply didn't have a clue from the 46th to the 92nd minute , it really was only a matter of time before they scored and once they got one they were always going to get another, and let's face it they could have got several more. Was Phillips injured? as no-one at the game knew and if so why Diamond at right back ? why not play McCourt there at least he would have been more mobile? Their number 11 who had done nothing in the first half was suddenly everywhere and with their number 7 Marshall carved us up a treat.
It's getting boring now, every game is the same, play all right 'til half time and then go to pieces in the second half. I really don't see how Cobbler 78 can defend Page after that game, he has to go.

But it was Page who bought in Wilkinson and probably told KT to get rid of Muggleton so he could bring in Kenny.
Christ, I had forgotten we have an assistant manager as you never hear from him or about him. What does he do ?
