having witnessed one of the most abject and embarrasing display that i can recall in 50 years of following ntfc here are a few thoughts
why should we expect fight and passion from a team when 50% of them are on loan and at the end of the season will return to their clubs without a backward glance at the skrills newest addition
when ab was sacked the chairman wasnt even in the country i think that was a kneejerk reaction from a game that if it could have gone wrong it did go wrong
we have 3or4 new strikers sinclair dickenson marquis and i suppose lopez who have now played 20 odd games between them and scored just 2 goals
i dont even think a shrewsbury moment will save us this time
total lack of tactics yesterday no fight no passion no idea beaten by a poor bury outfit who were quicker to the ball had a team plan of hard work and more hard work

i think tim oglethorpe does a very good job
he tells it as he sees it may not always agree with his opionions but he has the cobbs at heart
after saturdays game he was obviously upset / annoyed by the result kept saying he was sure we would win today as i was i thought we were nailed on to win in fact i still think that every game i should know better having supported the cobbs fo getting on 50 years must go to specsavers and ask for non claret tinted glasses
things can only get better i hope

ive just voted for hargreaves but i see he is favourite with the bookies for both here and torquay
as he has a sports/leisure shop in sidmouth i think torquay would be his option

lets see what happens over xmas team is performing generally better now than a few weeks back
we just need to show the commitment as in the fleetwood game but having followed the cobbs for over 45 years im no longer suprised how we follow up a good perfomance with a crap one as in the hartlepool result
keep the faith in ab until after xmas to give our new look team and injury returning players a chance

all the talk of an experienced striker coming sometime soon can anyone explain the situation with jj hooper he wasnt even on the bench saturday
he scored a few goals pre season albeit against lower opposition but he obviously knows where the goal is
i thought it strange on saturday playing morris up top 2nd half toney could have had 45 mins or jj if he had been on bench
any info anyone

The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / qatar world cup bid

on: October 03, 2013, 14:56:27 pm
|
just a thought but with the qatar world cup now in danger of being moved to another country because of the heat of their summers how will the fifa officials who stupidly voted for this venue repay all the bribes back handers and all other assorted freebies they took from qatar officials to vote for this country in the first place

i listen to radio northampton when im not at a game and when they focus mainly on the cobblers game i find the coverage excellent a good mix of match action and tactical views from tim oglethorpe and the team
i suppose saturday they spent more time on the saints as
a/ it was there 1st game and b/ there were the big money signings
t reckon over the season we will get more cobblers games on rn as most of saints games are being shown on bt sport
up the cobblers

come on all cobbs supporters this is a game we need to win in a convincing style
losing games must affect the players so we need to get behind the team right from the off
we have 2 home games and dare i say an away game we should be capable of getting something from rather than losing with 10 men

see ricoh arena have offered to reduce the annual fees by up to 90% for ccfc to play there
is this to late for this season i would think it is but we certainly havent heard the last of this
hope the payment dc got from cov as an advance wasnt post dated

reckon the new player are generally better than the ones they are replacing from last season
yes a striker who scores goals would be helpful but jj seems to find the net regularly and i think AB is being a bit coy saying he and moyo will be backup rather than 1st team if your good enough youre old enough
3 points at york and the away game nightmares of last season will begin to fade
come on you cobbs

The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: A message to Northampton town supporters.....
|
on: July 11, 2013, 16:12:32 pm
|
i am fully with the cov supporters on this whilst it means a decent wad of extra money for the cobbs it must be totally heartbreaking for cov supporters to envisage 3 years of playing away games only
if the situation was reversed im not sure i would want a 70 mile jaunt to watch a home game i moan enough about travelling across town (moulton to sixfields) let alone going to a completley different town its just about finished kettering trying this type of nomad existence
we should all support the cov fans on this issue and there ex chairman

The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: This Seasons Squad
|
on: June 20, 2013, 15:24:59 pm
|
i am wondering where the goals are coming from
the record of our midfielders was poor as regards scoring last season and without bayo we need more of the squad to be amoungst the goals and also a striker who can get 15-20 a season we cannot rely on kelvin langmead to come to our rescue all the time
lets hope we see some signings soon who have a few goals in them
