My first time at Swindon, where are the best drinking places

there's an away fans bar (bar 71) by the turnstiles, the county hotel by the ground won't let away fans in, but the merlin ( head to the magic roundabout and walk up past aldi) will and it'll have dozens of tv screens for early tv games

Local opinion is that swindon were lucky to get away with 0-0 last night and Northampton will hammer them.

seen them a few times this season as I live nearby and have stopped travelling to a lot of Northampton away games.

I think the majority view from the stands is that it's less "possession football" and more "messing about at the back".

Teams have had a lot of success pressuring the keeper when he has to get rid of the ball, he looks a bit panicky, but he's a great shot stopper.

Local paper for tonight says still short of 4 players due to covid / injuries. Hopefully, there'll be a few with their minds on playing Man City 3rd XI the following friday night

BTW as the capacity is over 10k, even though I doubt the attendance will reach that level, you'll need a covid pass / negative test <48 hours

What a good day to be working in Swindon - just read the "slightly" biased local rag's report, they give marks out of 10 (only to swindon of course), not sure how their keeper got given the highest mark though?

12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lincoln game on: July 26, 2018, 15:46:59 pm
I wonder if Lincoln still have a load of d*ckhead fans, always looking for trouble.

PS If the do, will the Northants Police be filming the West Stand again  Smiley

They've certainly got a load of glory hunters - average crowds

2015/16 2600 (midtable nat lge)
2016/17 5200 (won nat lge)
2017/18 8800 (league 2)
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Lincoln game on: July 26, 2018, 15:20:44 pm
Should be a good crowd, Lincoln have an allocation of 1500 tickets and as of this morning have sold 1300 or so (cue ground size arguments)  Wink

And in shock news, Swindon's latest signing has never played for the cobblers. Well he won't fit in, will be?

17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Two 2018/19 on: May 31, 2018, 12:09:37 pm
You really need to remove Swindon to help your point then as Swindon is a s***hole, the away section is in the corner and falling apart and the A420 can be hell. Apart from that I fully agree  Grin

I'm more likely to travel to Swindon  Grin

But the rest is pretty accurate
