1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United away on: August 12, 2018, 18:44:20 pm
Sorry if this doesn't fit the Cornell narrative on here, but both goals were clearly down to issues in midfield. Hoskins wasn't tight enough on his man to stop the quickly worked free kick and then there was a lack of tracking back/robust challenging from O'Toole and Crooks for the second. (It has to be said that Oddofin should have done better to track Hope's run on this one aswell.)

Having said that, there was some very good football going forward from us.

I'd like to see Austin dip into the loan market to sign a tough-tackling defensive midfield back up for McWilliams and a left winger that can take set pieces.
Foley more than adequate back up BUT left winger definitely!

Wonder what the issue is with Morias? Seems there's something we're not being told.
You have been told....................recovering from minor ankle problem and building his fitness up!
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: August 05, 2018, 14:29:35 pm
I dont think he has that long.... especially if we have another poor start like last year.

Yes, because getting rid of your manager early in his contract has worked so many times previously!!!!!!
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lincoln game on: August 04, 2018, 17:56:59 pm
Many aspects of the Cobblers game was encouraging BUT the service from the full backs and especially from Hoskins, Powell and Bridge out wide was very poor.
We must keep Crooks. I thought Bowditch improved the creativity because he is capable of looking up when in possession of the ball. If Foley replaces McWilliams then Crooks and O'Toole can influence the game further forward.

Work in progress!

Posters are showing a naivety if they do not realise some clubs would show interest in our best players. Even more naive if they did not realise that EVERY player on our books has a price!......................LIKE EVERY OTHER CLUB IN THE WORLD.

Unsettling but a fact of footballing life.
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 31, 2018, 06:02:00 am
Here's a fact for you to mull over, 5 times the cobblers have gained promotion to league 1 in the last 24 years weve been at Sixfields and every time, we have fell straight back down after a year or two and always wracked in debt with a broken up squad barely fit to hold its own, why do you think that is and why it only happens to us?
Its nothing to do with bad luck and this latest capitulation took no one by surprise other than maybe kelvin who is new to all this, but I think he now realises the futility to take on league 1 in an non league ground without decent infrastructure.
 Hope that helps😉
So you think it is a FACT that we were relegated because the ground was not big enough and NOT the total incompetence of Hasselbaink! AMAZING!!!!!!
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Man Utd XI (H) - Friday 27 July on: July 27, 2018, 14:05:56 pm
mostly an under18's team for them tonight

Wrong statement, not mostly under 18's. Their under 23's manager Ricky Sbragia said his squad of 16 will have 'some' U-18's added. They expect James Wilson and Regan Poole to be included.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 27, 2018, 13:58:22 pm
EVERY Cobblers player is available!........................at the right price.

That applies to EVERY League 2, League 1, Championship and even Premiership clubs.

Welcome to the real world!
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 26, 2018, 05:45:15 am
If 3 or 4 of the regular posters who preach about how wonderful fan ownership is and the only way forward for the Cobblers why have they not achieved their goal? If their principle is so important and they do not have the finance to achieve their goal with NTFC why did they not step in at a lower level when Northampton Spencer FC required help to act on their principle?

I like the idea of fan involvement BUT I do not think it is practical!
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 24, 2018, 16:50:00 pm
I think the biggest flaw for fan ownership is getting the calibre of people who have the time and ability to run the club.

The current Trust board members put in a great amount of time and effort BUT to take the club into fan ownership is a massive step up!
Plus you will have the usual suspects who wll use NTFC for personal political point scoring instead of moving the Cobblers forward longterm.

Great in theory but not in reality.........unfortuneately!
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Home Kit Release 22.7.18 on: July 22, 2018, 11:02:28 am
Excellent (lotto'esq) solid claret BESPOKE first choice shirt.

I am sure it would have cost more so it is good the retail is the same price.
14  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: It's coming home on: July 12, 2018, 05:54:47 am
Modric ran the midfield and we did not have that quality of playmaker.
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 11, 2018, 05:32:36 am
The hardest thing is not obtaining your wish list, the hardest thing is moving players on. Therefore I think 4 MIGHT move out and only 2 more signings! This still leaves the squad too big.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 09, 2018, 05:38:35 am
Seriously? You genuinely believe that KT has revealed the full scale of his plans to some random blokes who emailed him, and yet the mass of his punters aren't worthy of knowing because they haven't taken the time to contact him directly? Seriously, this is what you genuinely believe? #gullible  Grin

Trust me, when you are running a business a, you don't want a barrage of vague questions continually being fired at you, and b, it pays to keep your customers informed.
Yet again Jolly wide of the mark! I have never stated 'he revealed the full scale plans'  and I never said I ' randomly emailed him'. My conversation was at the AGM of NTFC a few weeks ago and Mr Thomas was very professional and open. Try using facts!
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 08, 2018, 10:34:14 am
Most of our group of season ticket holders (10) met for the England game and discussed the current situation off the field at NTFC before the match.
What I find strange is NOT one of us agreed with the 4 or 5 obsessive anti-KT posters who relentlessly preach the same bile against him. None of these small number of posters give a viable financial alternative.
We agreed the time to judge KT is when he is in full control of the legalities.

Only then do we expect an announcement about plans and timescales!
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 07, 2018, 10:25:11 am
At no point did the council refuse the club any planning applications, access or the oppertunity to seek investment and schemes to allow tge club to compete outside league 2.
And now all this land issues have been signed sealed and delivered,  was standing idle these past 3 seasons and dropping back into L2  worth it?
Well I for one am not surprised by the most obvious outcome in the history of obvious outcomes.
Have you met KT and discussed his plans? Oh no you haven't the balls to come out from behind your keyboard!

I did sit down with him for over half an hour and expressed my opinion and he outlined the chronological order of his plans for NTFC.

I suggest you try and get NBC to finish what they verbally agreed then we can progress as a club!
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 07, 2018, 07:30:44 am
Lol Hammy he really has you in his back pocket mate

He has done no develop at the club in almost 3 years, has already said the ground doesn't need to be bigger, has changed almost nothing and nobody in 3 years (including the Chief Exec), had the entire goodwill and positivity of that season totally disappear under his watch based around his decisions etc etc won't even mention 4m sale to Chinese investors farce, oh sorry i did,

KT is not interested in developing the club, when are you going to see that. What is possibly the most important factor of running and developing a football club?  The training facilities, we used the local college, yet since he has been here he has hardly mentioned it and shows no sign he has any intentions to.

He hasn't been tarred with the same brush as DC only that his actions have been almost identical up to the point of taking the loan, something you can not deny. No-one has accused him of acting illegally

What about if we get relegated to non-league?  is that ok then ?

Random, IF you owned the club would you have developed the ground with the legal situation of the last 3 years?..........and how?
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 05, 2018, 14:24:45 pm
I hope northampton get relegated. You deserve it because you are trash. There is more talent on the left toe of a bulldog than the whole of the NTFC starting line up
Who forgot his medication AGAIN!
