The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever?

In 2164 when the lease is up
Cilldara didn't think there would be a problem in breaking the leases and offered to take all that risk from the council, in their initial offer, did they not? theoretically, the trust could have teamed up with Cilldara, re-submitted their bid to include the ACV land on the conditions that - Cilldara take all risk for breaking the leases and the trust gets the ACV footprint that was not included in the original Cilldra bid anyway. No need for judicial review, Cilldara get what they want, the Trust gets the ACV land. I still can't see how the trust can buy the club and/or build the stand in this scenario though. Will have to wait and see what the actual proposal is I guess.

Id personally like to see...
Burge
Lintott Odimayo Guthrie Haynes
McWilliams Sowerby
Leonard
Hoskins Appiah
Magloire
Don't think Appiah will be starting for Cobblers, given that he is a Crawley Colchester player

Interested in Andy Holt‘s comment which I agree with in that the iFollow concept is flawed - particularly for lower league clubs - for us Johnny foreigners it’s a great deal (yes I know I've got a vested interest here) and generally we are not depriving any club of gate money - but for lower league clubs I think they need to look at prices and availability- for me home games should/could be streamed but at a higher price with a bigger slice going to the club as it is likely to impact the gate money. Away games streamed are less likely to effect gate money significantly and could be offered at a lower price say 50% of that of the home games.
For me iFollow is a fantastic service although I do get back for a lot of home Saturday games but clearly the camera coverage is poor compared to Sky and some of the commentators are a comedy act in respect of what they both say and see.
It's not so straight forward to calculate revenue loss and revenue gain when it comes to ifollow. For me personally every pound that I spend on ifollow is additional revenue for 'football'. I have a season ticket and I decide whether or not attend away games based on whether I have the time to travel to the ground, other things going on, the opposition team, the opposition stadium etc. If I decide not to go to an away game, then I might use ifollow to watch, if time permits. I have also paid to use ifollow to watch the odd home game that I already have an actual ticket for. How this money is divided up in the background is not my concern, but what I do know is, that using ifollow has increased my total spend on football. on the flip side though you have non-season ticket holder families that might decide to stream a home game for £10 if it were available instead of paying £60+ to attend. There are others who may use ifollow availability as a deciding factor when choosing whether to attend away games as well. These scenarios represent lost revenue for football as a whole and for the club. The key question is what is the balance of the revenue loss scenarios vs the revenue gain scenarios? That is very hard to pinpoint.

EFL and ifollow are starting to track and detect VPNs - I have an overseas ifollow account and no problem using it from where I live - but on a visit to the UK I tried it with a VPN (Nord) using a server based in my home country and it didn't work - on their chat line they confirmed they detected the use of a VPN and further transgression would result in account suspension with no refund after accepting my excuse I was simply using the VPN for security protection. Unfortunately the reality is, using a VPN to pretend you are not in the UK is clearly against their terms and conditions and the technology exist to detect use of a VPNs
Funny how they are happy to take the payment every game over VPN without a warning and then block the use of the service once the game starts. Disgusting business practices as per usual. Using a VPN may be against their terms of service, but businesses taking payment for a service which they know full well they will not be providing, is illegal.

The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Season Tickets

I ordered mine before the end of may price rise, via the website. Collected them on Wednesday at the game, no issues. I had t do the 'password reset' process on the new online portal as described in the email they sent to me, again this was not an issue.
The online system shows me as a season ticket holder and has all of my details from the old system. The only thing that appears to not be possible now is to have another person 'associated' to you so you can buy on their behalf.
I was not able to get the season ticket holder discount on the game on Wednesday and paid the full £14 when ordering online. Not sure if that was because I ordered on the day of the game, or if it was because it isn't recognising my season ticket when purchasing new individual tickets.

I've just watched it on SSN. In the olden days, it would have been flagged, but see this quote from IFAB which explains it appropriately: "An attacking player in an offside position runs towards the ball but does not play the ball or prevent the opponent from playing or being able to play the ball. It is not an offside offence so the referee allows play to continue. The attacking player is only penalised if he/she plays the ball or interferes with an opponent." Unfortunately, it was a good decision.
Being in an offside position and running for the ball, (particularly in the case yesterday when there was another player running for the ball also) forces the defender to make a decision on who to track and where to run to cover. Can you tell me how that does not constitute interfering with an opponent?

I find it amazing that people berated Barrow for the lack of tickets for our game at their place. Yet when the opportunity presents itself to support their team in a pivotal match, they don’t.
It has to be their choice. But it’s a fcuking strange match to choose to miss.
Is it though? the outcome is decided across two matches and second leg is at home. If Mansfield run riot and its something like 4-0 then not going looks like a good choice. Last weekend was hard enough to take for most. If the game is close, then it comes to down to the home leg anyway If NTFC run riot with an emphatic win, then the atmosphere will carry over to the home leg anyway
