I happen to agree, because spending on the pitch offers a better chance of a return than blowing your budget on a pointless stand and staying Putley. Your post kind of supports my argument, watch out mate, Bedfordshires finest will be spitting blood.
I can fully understand what would happen if the Cobblers had a poor L2 season with cdnl's £20m worth of Sixfields land at stake and a bunch of restless natives asking wtf is going on!

Just for you Melly, this is what I see is happening, please feel free to correct .
Our club have been taken over by speculators who are hell bent on securing themselves a massive windfall, this at the expense of our clubs ability to extend the ground by minimum 3000 to be able to trade correctly for a L1 club in a town of 250,000.
We now find ourselves at the mercy of clueless leading councillors of WNC  to our Towns football clubs urgently needs, them having such little opinion of ntfc, believing ntfc to be 5hite and not deserving of what all similar sized towns clubs would automatically expect.and now they seem to have got into bed with the speculators CDNL to forcibly and cheaply remove any future expansion enabling possibilities from Northampton Town fc.

This must not happen.
NTFC deserve getting a fair share of a 3000 capacity increase and a finished East stand.
When this opportunity has been taken away by cdnl and gone its gone.forever.
CDNL have no more rights to that land than NTFC and its immediate future needs, which is the the 3000 ground expansionary a finished East stand and 20 m buffer zone behind the East stand.
Thomas/ cdnl can grab the rest with our best wishes.

And on the day, £50 quid to get into Pleasure Beach.  Shocked
You can ride 200 attractions for that in a day, what's that 25p a ride.. bloody great value.. when my kids were young, we'd return from these places bruised and battered but great days had.
63  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 02, 2023, 23:46:59 pm
I said might. Although if they are here purely for the money I’ll stick with mental.
I tell you what else doesn’t stack up mate. If they are motivated purely by greed why back the manager to the point that it’s a travesty they don’t get promoted last year, and repeat that support this year that finally leads them to getting promoted. If they were purely motivated by greed, we wouldn’t have ended up with the size of squad we did when the sick notes started piling up. The problem is that the anti owners mob fail to give any credit at all and apply a balanced perspective, and that discredits their whole argument.
If the owners are here solely for what they can get financially why do that? If they have decided that putting money into the playing budget is preferable to putting some bunting up in the East Stand, it’s still a reasonable decision. You might not agree with it, but it’s still a valid one. So, to use Beds term on himself why the contradiction? Why continually back the manager with the playing budget if the owners are motivated by solely by greed. They don’t have to do they. Do they deserve any credit for last season, or was any success in spite of them rather than with the support of them? You can guarantee what answers coming, and to their confusion and frustration, this is why they lack credibility and significant support.

We had the seventh highest player budget that suggests the TV rights, league affiliations and gate receipts more than covered it.
Being  L2 club with the 2nd biggest conurbation suggests to those who can think outside the 'total column' box, we have again left a lot of income rotting on the cdnl vine.
64  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 02, 2023, 20:57:29 pm
Either way, crap owners or not, they will still have put 13 million into a shít show to get 20 million (according to you). I’m telling you right now, there’s not a warrior on here who would put that kind of bunce in, in that time frame, under those circumstances as an investment. They might be mental, but they ain’t greedy. The only person who would talk like that is someone who’s never had a pot to píss in, and with that mind set they never will.
If these greedy owners had really put in £13,000,000 into Northampton Town fc, I'm sure their families would have got an injunction and a protection order against ntfc while the owners recuperate at Crispins.
But you need not worry Melly, as not a penny has been spent making Sixfields more professional and fit to host L1 football or they spent time in a place of sanctuary.
65  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 02, 2023, 19:04:40 pm
You’re having a laugh. Even if you are right and it’s 20 million, by the end of next season they’ll be in for around 10 million. By the time they’ve spent 3 mill on the stand that’s a 7 million return on a 13 million investment with all the risk of Cilldara and no light at the end of tunnel? That’s bullshít, they’re nowhere near greedy enough, no one in their right mind would buy into that chaos at that ratio. If I’d invested along with them Id be kicking their arsé to the bottom of Walter Tull Way. If you were in their shoes right now you’d be dumping into your pants like a cement truck on crack. Luckily tippy tapping on your keyboard on social media usually costs fùck all, so you haven’t got a clue. You talk some right old shít you do.
Not doing as  suggesting in order to take over our club has cost millions in lost revenues, which in turn failed to attract a new generation of support to a more professional football club.  How much has our football club suffered under these time wasters.
They are owed nothing from ntfc.
Just because you can't or won't see it, there's a lot who are waking up to this awful situation facing our club and its future.
66  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 01, 2023, 21:36:31 pm
Unfortunately your undying loyalty to blind alley tactics has once again clouded your response. In no way do I advocate sitting on your hands. Neither do I suggest that you should back off. I merely suggest that the lack of an intelligent approach and the blunt instrument tactics that you and a few others adopt, has only served to muddy the waters and alienate the very support base that you would need to bolster support for your point. Personally I couldn't care less if our current owners get the land they want. Somebody will get it anyway. And as much as you can cast aspersions on what our owners might do with the proceeds. You can be absolutely sure that if somebody else gets it, we won't even have dog in the bloody fight. So rather than alienating our only chance at getting anything. Surely it would make sense to fight, to ensure that the few assurances that have been muted, actually come to fruition. Then at least we have a base to work from. If not; they can take the money, leave, and you and the Trust can bring in the plethora of potential owners that you tell us are waiting in the wings.
Contradiction Contradiction after Contradiction ..
You have said it on many occasions we should just sit on our hands, we should back off and bend over letting cdnl have a walk over with the head councillors blessings as they believe this 5hit awful scenario taking shape is somehow in the best interests of Northampton's football club..
We all know it's a 5hite deal that needs kicking in the long grass..
67  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 01, 2023, 13:18:31 pm
Are you part of the left wing modern day Facsist  party?

“Listen to my view, adopt my view, act on my view or I will label you as the devil”
What's is your view then? Maybe it's better than mine and will help our football club gain the right amount of redevelopment quicker and better?
I'm willing to go for whatever is best for our club.. Which CDNL/WNCs unholy alliance is not what ntfc will ever need.

Nunn and Patel need stopping in their tracks, the ignorance shown by these towards Northampton and its football club's urgent redevelopment requirements is shocking.
They have no belief in ntfc ever being more than a bottom feeding Division 4 club playing in an non league ground.
This is where we find ourselves at this dangerous cross roads in our clubs history.
Is it too late for ntfc to gain the much needed finished stand and a 3000 capacity increase ? Probably.
68  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 01, 2023, 10:58:10 am
It's strange who you call an "apologist". You have endured this situation for 8 years. Yet the extent of your resistance to the situation stretches no further than repeating the same rhetoric on various social media platforms. You, like most negative individuals, have not moved your agenda any further than copious amounts of negative posts. In fact, even those who suggest that they are active in trying to address the situation, have done no more than run petty and minor interference. Their efforts extending no further than whinging and bleating on forums or websites that attract little to no attention. Or failing in their ridiculously naive  and amateur attempts to engage financial interest in their fanciful agenda.

This higher mantle that you and a few others have afforded yourself, is hardly indicative of an active campaign to solve anything. In fact, the lack of tact, diplomacy and negotiating skills demonstrated by you and your ilk, has done nothing more than to fan the flames and create a toxic energy within elements of the support. I have far more respect for those that have challenged decisions and posed questions in a constructive manner. I doubt your activism will extend to rearing you head at the soon to be open forum. I'm sure you will be at home, tucked away, whilst the "apologist" attend and present their points in person.
So let's go through some of this, by your reckoning anyone wanting the best for NTFC and its future trading abilities is showing 'negatively ' You need to explain that one 😉
You suggest diplomacy and negotiation skills to try and stop those getting increasingly desperate getting all the 23 acres of land to do as the wish, with, it seems the blessing of the WNC leaders? How is that going to work? How is that going to benefit NTFC and its immediate future after these owners cash in and get gone?

Only a united stance from the supporters of our club, agreed in a common sense  approach to gaining a fair share for Northampton and its football club from these 23 acres, £20,000,000 worth of land, much of it forming part of the Sixfields footprint, that will be lost to our club forever.

Just for the record £20,000,000 in £50 pound notes  would fill 10 very large suitcases, do you think its only fair for the cobblers to expect just 2 of those suitcases, enough to finish the East and expand the capacity of the south stand  south by 3000? Of course we all would.
The other 8 suitcases can be loaded into the back of the cdnl/ wnc trucks, maybe Peter and co would like to assist with the loading?

69  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 01, 2023, 06:26:34 am
I honestly don’t know and agree it’s gone on far too long - however would you, in their position make significant investment before you had some of the profit assured? - rhetorical question really because no business person with an iota of sense, within or totally outside football would make a blind investment.
They have no right to mothball our club, an important part of Northampton community,  for 8 years they held back ntfc in the hope they get a vast pay off..
Remember they only got to take over the club because they said they would finish the East stand 7 years ago and didn't,  so these owners have cost our club millions in lost revenues and any Hope of climbing the football league.
The east stand was due for completion 7 years ago and the urgent capacity increase 5 years ago.. so far nothing, and no mention of expanding the ground to be able to trade in L1!
Stop being an apologist for these awful time wasters.
The sooner they have gone the quicker our club will recover, we all need to hope wnc don't give all the future enabling land to this lot or our recovery might not happen in most our life times!
Wake up.
70  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 31, 2023, 18:32:21 pm
Despite an excellent season, despite securing contracts on the vast majority of players, despite securing contracts on the successful management team and despite the likelyhood of record season ticket sales I notice on social media the same sad faces latch onto other posts - Luton's success, Brentford holding their own in the Premiership and Wimbledon returning to Plough Lane to have a non too subtle dig at our owners - sure we could do more and better, but for me we are in a better base position than many times before - for me these individuals are sad and reminiscent of old school socialists whose views are based on a combination of envy and the entitled view of spending someone else's money.
For £20m worth of land for £800k (wnc what we're you thinking? you would at least expect a 3000 capacity increase and a finished East stand.
With all due respect, our owners are greedy to the bone, and you know it.
71  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Away the lads. on: May 31, 2023, 18:29:07 pm
Wasn't that the League Cup in 81, beating Millwall, Bristol Rovers before losing 3-1 to Manchester City at Maine Road?
One of the Cobblers supporters busses got badly bricked after the game at Eastville, 20 of them returned home on  the players bus.
72  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: First game 2023/24 on: May 31, 2023, 18:23:53 pm
So where would we all like to go on the opening game, or who do you not want
Fixtures were leaked, it's Charlton Athletic away.
73  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 22, 2023, 20:43:40 pm
Oh, I certainly have. In fact, if you read my posts going back right to the start of this particular tenure. You will see that I have always said. That until a decision is reached on the use of the land, we will never know the final outcome. It's a shame you and a few others never adopted that rather prophetic perspective. You could have saved yourself a lot of time playing at football club ownership.
Please tell me your not advocating a wait a see policy!
Cardoza/cdnl was afforded that. Thomas/ cdnl, despite pi5s balling around for several years, must not..

When WNC start getting involved with cdnl it's a very dangerous mix as we've seen previously.
Councillors thinking a few boxes in a rusting stand represents good value to Northampton and its football club for £20m worth of prime redevelopment land, , its not and they should be told.
I hope they read their emails because they sure don't reply!
Now I read cllr Clark (?) Has Been silenced for asking awkward questions !
These are dangerous times for our clubs post cdnl future.
Waiting and seeing we can't risk.

That’s a no then. Have you considered taking some courses to further your education and give yourself a least minimal credibility. I’ve got all the badges, awards and commendations obviously, I’d give you some if they didn’t mean so much to me. Perhaps I could help and mentor you? A little of your favourite cut and paste for your perusal.

I will let others decide which of us have called it right..
You're like a dog with a bone, totally fixated by what others have written even if it doesn't suit the context, you'll still copy a paste hoping one day you'll get it right 😉
75  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 22, 2023, 06:23:35 am
Still doesn’t answer what happens if no one picks up the tab though does it. Of course if you had any sort of qualification or track record that would offer any reassurance regarding your commentary, or provide any credibility to these forecasts re-enforced by demonstrating you are capable of "grasping the basics", that would be most helpful?
Affiliations and TV rights 'pick up the tag' All other revenues are generated by maximising your productivity,  in ntfc's case would be swelling its fan base and supporters of visiting clubs to average say 8000 per game as a L1 club.
Also having better matchday experiences such as fan village and corporate box facilities to sell.
Also non matchday revenues could be generated by having open bars, conferences,  duel use corporate boxes to hotel accommodation which have been very popular at other grounds etc..
Basically everything we don't do at little old dormant cdnl infested NTFC.

There are no excuses for the mothballing at the hands of these  land grabbers ntfc have suffered.
Now I'm hearing some dopey clueless councillors are sticking their oar in, these having the belief that ntfc are crap and always will be so now facilitating the loss of 23 acres for none to very little benefits to ntfc and its future post cdnl..
You couldn't make it up!
These are very dangerous times for ntfc and it future well being.
76  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 21, 2023, 20:09:03 pm
Hopefully owners that go down this self indulgent ego trip will one day be ostracised from the game along with the supporters that encourage them like this tít. A much more sustainable model will perhaps eventually come to the fore protecting them for future generations. This should be the role of any true custodian of a club, rather than that of basket case Beds and his cóck measuring cohorts. Like pyramid selling, Ponzi schemes and everything else with a finite resource, what these egomaniacs haven’t cottoned onto is that if all clubs have an owner willing and able to bankroll this búlls*** then there will still be those that get relegated into obscurity irrespective of all that cash they pump in. Unless it’s the hope that there will be those that go down this route like Wrexhams of this world, whilst banking on enough have nots remaining to be trampled on indefinitely. What’s sporting about that, all this is turning into is a measure of someone’s wallet and how reckless they are prepared to be with it. Fúcking sad.
You still don't get it, probably never will but once again I will try and help you..
Professional football isn't like other businesses for a start the customers number in the 1000s and dont desert the product should they go through a bad period. It gets the backing of the entire town it represents supporters,  businesses , sponsors and given a pot of affiliate and TV cash for just turning up with a squad of players.

It only goes wrong if they don't follow the above and go all closed shop on the town it represents using it only for the valuble assets up for grabs...

Hope that helps you grasp the basics.
77  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 21, 2023, 09:01:50 am
Interesting, against that same chart our losses would be 2.8k per week, but only via players sales or we would have been at 18.2k per week.
https://twitter.com/KieranMaguire/status/1637169616786014208

Posh losing about 19k a week even with player sales because of Covid loan, MK Dons losing 53k a week, but offset from the profit made from the Hotel group. Fleetwood losing 31k a week, Stockport losing 50k a weekand then Salford losing 82k a week which is more than Championship Blackpool.

Morecambe, Wigan and Fleetwood all in various types of difficulties.

It's a shame all the accounts aren't standardised to be able to dig in full details of wages and income and outgoings, but it does give you a flavour that even we're subsidised, just not as much as most.

If a football club made a constant profit only to exisit treading water, it would be looked upon as a very bad thing in professional football. (With exception of a few number fried brains of worn out accountants 😉)
Losses are part and parcel,  obviously keeping them in check making sure any burden is met by the supporters/sponsors/directors/TV monies/ transfers etc.
If having a slightly secretive autocratic ownership that are fot example, a soley land acquiring set up, it can make things awkward in moving the club forward in order to build up its infrastructure and support base and other revenue streams.
78  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 20, 2023, 13:32:45 pm
I think its worth just taking a moment to assess where we really are.

Despite the recent disappointing actions and ridiculous plans hatched by the trust, we are in a decent position. I'm sure some positive plans will emerge soon to develop the stadium but lets not forget.

We maybe in a council house but its an assured tenancy agreement, our owners did stop us being wound up and are running a steady and prudent ship, the staff seemingly all happy, very happy in fact.

We are not £20,000,000.000 in debt, living in a private rental with a dodgy landlord in trouble, likely to serve a section 21 while they still can as our near neighbours.

"Plans will soon emerge" well after 8 years all we see is half arsed drawings of 10 boxes in a tiny rusting stand costing a ridiculous £6m with the ground being hemmed in by giant warehouses..
With 23 acres disappearing with council 'aproval' for a fraction of its worth..

Let's establish facts and not wish lists or we could be back where we were several years ago..

79  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 20, 2023, 13:25:38 pm
Not my words, pretty much the words of sports finance expert Kieran Maguire. Average loss half a million a week in the Championship according to him. I’ll tell him a plasterer from Luton thinks it’s nonsense, he’ll be devastated.
Someone needs to tell both Maguire and you It's just monopoly money sploshing around community football clubs that have been in existence for 130 years and will be around for many 100s more.. Relax, you've put to much emphasise on something you don't really understand.

Hope you can see it now.
80  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 20, 2023, 07:58:13 am
Once in the Championship the challenges are considerable. Personally I don’t think developing the East and South combined is going to cut it. Got to be a huge restructuring of expenditure and an enforced salary cap to manageable levels if football clubs are to survive and have a future. This notion we should be able to compete and the constant trotting out of examples as evidence we should is just bollocks.

https://theathletic.com/4457610/2023/04/28/championship-finances-broken/
Nonsense, tiny Burton got to the championship and they did spontaneously combust and neither will we when we get there after cdnl have taken everything and we gradually recover.
