I agree with defender. Well said Kingsthorpe.

A lot of people seem to be sticking their heads in the sand here, very reminiscent of a certain DC situation. Again I will reiterate, now is not the time to sack page and he should be given time to turn it around, however we do have some major issues and all is not as rosy as son of you are making out!
2042  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Sack him. on: November 23, 2016, 19:13:15 pm
The big, big difference is style of football. If you lose a game having a right good go, trying to play attractive football and actually win games, with a team that's together and giving 110% that's one thing.

If you are playing really negative football, sitting back, not pressing at all, letting the opposition play you off the park, alienating individuals along the way, just waiting for that inevitable goal to be conceded then that is something totally different.

I'm not saying sack him as I don't think that is right, he needs to be given time to turn it around, but there a really worring signs.

You also cannot compare the two its like comparing an apple to a banana!

I really hope Page turns it around, but the games we have coming up you just cant see it!
2043  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Official "Give Page a Chance" Thread on: November 22, 2016, 22:16:26 pm
How?

Bringing on a left back to play left wing, whilst two wingers are sat on the bench is a bit odd, id say!
2044  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Official "Give Page a Chance" Thread on: November 22, 2016, 21:54:04 pm
We were 5th 10 games ago!!!! IN LEAGUE 1!!!

And the reality check is were not anymore and we are dropping like a stone!! As I have said before sacking Page now is not the answer, but we do have real issues!
2045  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Official "Give Page a Chance" Thread on: November 22, 2016, 21:49:31 pm
Fantastic, I'm glad he has faith in the club and his ability to lead them forward.

The shame for me is he doesn't show that on the pitch, which is one of his real issues!!!
2046  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Official "Page Out" Thread on: November 22, 2016, 21:22:24 pm
Agreed, its not helpful at all.

Whilst I don't agree with the thread (presently) people should be allowed to have their views. A lot of people seemingly want to put their heads in the sand. We do have some major issues here. I'm not saying sack page now I the answer and he should be given time to turn it around. He just doesn't give me any confidence at all he will.
2047  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Official "Page Out" Thread on: November 22, 2016, 21:12:14 pm
I'm not quite there yet, but there are some major, major concerns for me.

Man management is a massive issue, the way he has totally alienated byrom, McDonald and d ath. Dropping of smith tonight is a mistake, but as bad as anything for me is bringing on a left back to play as a winger when we have two wingers sat on the bench and one who cant get in the squad. That's as good as sticking two fingers up at them.

We have big issues here, lose on Saturday which is inevitable at the moment and they snowball. Come end of December tea discussion could be being had as to if KT trusts page enough to go and spend money in January. Given the summer transfers I have doubts. Its a massive few weeks for the club and page no doubt.

Stats suggests we don't deserve anything from tonight ...

Then again, we are playing a very good side.

So good they haven't won in 4!!!
2050  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bradford Away - Time for Revenge on: November 22, 2016, 20:20:46 pm
Presume Hanley is going to take on the dreaded left wing position and Anderson over to the right in a 4-4-2?

I suspect this also makes Gorre and Potter feel amazing, still sat on the bench whilst a left back gets on in their position. The blokes man management seems shocking to me!
2051  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bradford Away - Time for Revenge on: November 22, 2016, 20:10:22 pm
For Gods sake stay tight, but we need a goal, tough at the moment.

He will predictably do nothing and we will soon find ourselves 2-0 down!
2052  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What does Rob Page bring to the party? on: November 20, 2016, 19:05:27 pm
I think that was luck more than good judgement, particularly gorre. Interesting when we have needed pace and to stretch games ala Saturday he hasn't done it since swindon
2053  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Posh at home today on: November 19, 2016, 16:00:38 pm
Smith error again, anyone thinking he is a keeper of standard above league one is mistaken, too many floors in his game!
2054  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC Trust - Open Forum with Kelvin Thomas - Thursday 17th November on: November 19, 2016, 08:11:40 am
I don't like the sound of the Adam smith contract situation - kelvin more or less admitting that the club and player are some way apart on agreement on his worth. Also very interesting to hear him say that he thought the replacement of Ricky hasn't been anywhere near good enough - some candid stuff coming from the chairman tonight.

I honestly think league one is about smithy's level presently. As others have said pretty susceptible to long shot, doesn't come and get crosses and there is always the potential for a howler every now and then. There is a reason why he is still here and didn't move in the summer. His young and will only get better, but tho is his level on current ability. Maybe wilder will be back in for him?
2055  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Transfer window on: November 16, 2016, 13:17:43 pm
Are you mental?

Somone's been on the funny pills!

Buchs is easily our most consistant performer over the last 2 years, not to mention a fantastic leader and seems a great personality. You would be hard pushed to fine player that would get "further up and down the pitch" also.

The only way I see Buchs leaving is if Wilder comes in with a massive offer and I mean massive!
2056  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Transfer window on: November 15, 2016, 00:51:40 am
Carey is very injury prone - spent a lot of time out last season.

That's the very reason ge is plying his trade at Plymouth and I would hazard a guess maybe in our reach. He would be regularly playing in the championship had he not had issues. Last seasons problem I believe was separate to previous issues too.
2057  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The next 2 months on: November 10, 2016, 10:17:21 am
Despite many of our misgivings after the 'Wilder fall out', as I tweeted the other day we must keep some perspective.

The teams above us...Bradford, Sheffield UTD and Bolton...are all huge (relative) clubs. Whilst Bristol Rovers are undoubtedly a slightly bigger club than ourselves also.

Which leaves only Sc***horpe whom we could realistically hope to be above, given our budget.

It is worth noting that even with a completed stadium redevelopment, theres only one of those 4 teams we could realistically over take from a budgetary point of view. And Bristol Rovers are moving to a new super stadium and have *proper investors, or should I call them benefactors!

We are boxing above our weight folks. Just enjoy it and see where it takes us. As long as Page doesn't start selecting line ups like he did away at Scum (which to be fair he hasn't done before or since that game) then a play off place is not out of question given our squad.

I think theres more to come from it as well. And in January, if he can improve the left side of our attack and perhaps bring in a long term additional striker to give us something different to what Revel and Rico offer I see no reason why we cannot be very successful this season. For that to happen he also needs to work out why we are conceding so many stupid goals, but Im confident that can be fixed with the tools he's already got at his disposal.

Two words - Burton Albion!
