1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Arsenal U18's on: Yesterday at 21:12:07
Does anyone know if Jack Daldy is related to John & Barry Daldy, the former Kettering and Wellingborough players ? It's not a common name is it?
Grandfather and Uncle

Nor me. Was expecting the gulf to be greater. Knew we were good but underestimated how good. Also, Arsenal benefit from playing against opposition their level every week. JB is right when he said some of these players need to out and play semi-pro. This can only make them even better if they play at a competitive enough level.

Coventry youth are having a bad season, but compare how many players they've produced compared to us, in recent years.

Great effort. JB is correct when he says some of these players can play at that level. Don't know how a club like Coventry can finance Cat 2 but that should be our ambition for the future.

Terrific player. Far too good for league one. Thanks to Cardoza never made what we should have from his sale.

Instead of developing all the land at the rear of the East Stand for commercial purposes, can some [or all]of this be used for training facilities/ pitches? This would surely benefit the Club long term to have its own training ground adjoining the PTS. It would also limit the substantial costs of removing buried refuse as its on ground where the athletics track and field events area once stood.

Booked on the coach. Not many seats left!

A couple of quality signings. Maybe a player or two - running down contracts - out on loan.

Go on then.

Thanks, Unicobbler. It's going to be an interesting couple of transfer windows.

Haven't heard it but interested to know exactly what KT said regarding budget?
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Big One? on: December 02, 2018, 21:33:50 pm
As youth team players are being mentioned I would suggest 'the big one' is our U18s versus MK Dons U18s [12pm kick-off]. If we win and Stevenage draw against Southend, we will be champions.

Thanks. It's U18s and 7.00pm kick off.

I agree with that. Watching Sinclair duck out of heading us a goal. Wilder did have his hand forced. I would say Jay is more than good enough - but several others are as well.

Just heard the youth team have won their latest league fixture: 2-0 away at Gillingham.
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jay Williams on: November 27, 2018, 12:54:35 pm
JB said the 2nd years would soon head out on loan to teams that are at least Southern Premier level, but even at this level, it will be difficult to place them. There are clubs at our level waiting to see what we do with some of these players as they might be getting released in a few months.
