Jack Newell put in a MoM performance in the play-off final between Bromsgrove Sporting and Corby Town yesterday. A crowd, just shy of 3000, witnessed a 7-goal thriller which also included 2 penalty saves from the Corby keeper. This was the last game of the season where one of our players was involved.

County fan in peace here. Jim Gannon hasn't worked with Curle, he was playing for Shelbourne in Ireland when Curle was at Mansfield.
The rumours have been doing the rounds here for weeks so I'm not surprised to see Matty's move confirmed. Great creative attacking midfielder with an eye for goal. Played his best stuff for us in a number 10 role behind a number 9 linking midfield and attack. Was a marked man for the last few months of the season meaning his goals dried up somewhat but that simply allowed space for others. I wish him a successful time with you all, he's earned the right to be move full time.
Thank you for the info and good luck to your team in the new season.

Like most, Rocket Science? .....I knew that JJOT had an contract option so he was likely to be offered an extension if only on reduced terms. I hope he stays.
Me too but KC has made him feel unwelcome recently to encourage him to leave. He's been great. Wish him all the best.

I'm a bit baffled as well. Possibly a Centre Half manager's pick. Bridge - skillful, creative. Powell - tall, runs a lot. The latter is lucky Curle only witnessed his more recent performances.
curle saw what I saw at Cambridge. Powell was awful. Hope the player proves us wrong next season. After the last 2 years, shame he doesn't have the integrity to leave.

Funny how since KC shipped out Ash Taylor we started to ship less goals, with regards to Cornell, I agree he has massively improved, fact is he's still not very good.
Don't know what went wrong with AT this season. He was good for us last season though and always a good professional within the club. I wish him well for the future.

Interesting to see who makes the team today . Will he show any indication for next season ?
I'm guessing Hoskins playing behind Williams. Morias on the bench to give him a nudge towards the exit.

What about him? Was brought in on loan by Curle than barely used in the time he's been here. Are you suggesting we sign him?
Was on loan at Mansfield for the first half of the season, made 16 starts and a further 8 appearances off the bench scoring four goals. Comes to us and makes 4 starts with 4 more appearances off the bench and chips in with one goal.
I'm not suggesting we sign him. Maybe KC will think differently.

Surely they can announce pre contract agreements with other players who will be out of contract? It would be nice if we announced Devitt and warburton but I suspect it is likely to be more underwhelming than that.
What about Elsnik? Heard his contract's coming to an end at Derby.

No I don’t thanks . He said there are 3/4 players worth keeping including Cornell - but that’s only just. That is a completely different thing to “ building a team around players “ - it means they are competent enough to do a job in the team if required.
Having listened to it, this is my interpretation as well. I'm sure we will find out whether KC agrees very soon after the meetings.

Apart from the youngsters , the only players I would keep are :
Pierre , Turnbull , Cornell , Bridge , MacWilliams , Williams
Offer Buchanan a one year deal only .
Of the loan players , offer Goode terms only .
Foley only as a back up player on equivalent wages .
The rest should all be off loaded .
I would like to see Buchs offered something as well but his recent omission suggests otherwise. Feels like he's been frozen out, along with Taylor and O'Toole.

His debut v Posh at home last season was enough to see he's nowhere near good enough. JED had him on trail for weeks before signing him as he was trying to bring in a proper number 1 but failed so panicked and gave Coddington a two year deal.
He's been here two seasons and has provided no realistic competition to the bang average Cornell. JFH, DA & KC don't rate him so he'll be going on Monday
KC will bring in a proper number 1 to compete with / replace Cornell
He's rated by the coaching staff and they see him on a daily basis.
