The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: How Many Games do you reckon you've been to?

I got my first season ticket in 1987 and have visited over 80 grounds (most more than once). Been a season ticket holder ever since and only missed 3 home games in that time, the second last ever game at the county ground v mansfield (just started a new job and couldn't get the time off), v hull where we got hammered (same reason as mansfield) and yesterday the first time by choice as i didn't think the blokes who sit in front of me would appreciate me throwing up all over them. And to my horror tuesday week will be my 4th as i'm away on business. In total somewhere around the 750 mark and approx 50k. Oh to be a cobbler. On the whole i've enjoyed every bit of it and wouldn't change it for all the tea in china.
Forgot to mention, my first game was in '76' a 4-2 victory v cambridge and starting going regular in '85'.

I've a cracking idea, does anyone know anyone who works for the bbc. If so can you contact nick knowles and get DIY SOS THE BIG BUILD to come to sixfields and finish the stand. Lets face it we're very needy and almost destitute.

Are you not mixing him up with Giles Coke ?, Bradley Johnston went from us to Leeds and then Norwich.
Giles ~Coke ****ed us over, then publicly encouraged Jacobs to leave
Yes, apologies. mixing my coke and johnsons up. Getting old and the old grey matter isn't what it used to be. Thanks for correcting my mistake.

Two of us on the train from Oxford...£38 rtn to Preston. Contrary to weather forecasts by some, actually forecast for around 5-6c with light rain or possible snow showers...so despite notorious Stanley pitch, should be on! Giving Peel Park hotel a miss this time for Grants in town centre, which looks brilliant. If off, will complete the '92' next door in Blackburn!
If off, will complete the '92' next door in Blackburn! Cat, if you achieve this at the weekend may i be the first to congratulate you. Doing all pro clubs is some achievement. I've been stuck in the 70's for some time due to the cobs inability to get through the early cup rounds.

That's ok Andy , I wouldn't get involved in that someone who manages to articulate themselves properly, the problem is as I see it I don't think a Wilder is rating Hornby as he must have been fit now for 2 months and not given him a kick, he took Richards off and put Tozer on with 5 minutes remaining at 3 nil up so I'm unsure Wilder fancies Hornby, i cant comment because I haven't seen him but Wilder has seen what he is doing on the training pitch and not giving him a shout , not too dissimilar with Carter which I have to say I agree with, he is too slow and not fit enough . I do agree upfront by the way , either keep Toney or sell him and replace him but the numbers and quality are sufficient up there but we have no alternatives at CM.
Bill, can see your point about hornby although with cw's ruthless cull this month i would've thought if he didn't rate him he would 've got rid, unless of course he's on peanuts and at a push cw thinks he could fill a gap.

Brad Johnson has also tweeted similar...
brad johnson left under a cloud as he was going to sign then went north costing the club due to them not receiving the u24 fee. Not held in the highest esteem by most cobs.

Just to help all the crackpots out there I will explain this one more time, I do not believe Carter or Hornby could not be considered adequate cover if we are discussing promotion as a goal, Taylor or Byrom will have to spend time out of the team through injury or suspension so if there is any further strengthening to be done then it would be in this area and it would be someone who has a touch more to his game then Byrom ie running with the ball and a better range of passing, Byron ticks things over ok but doesn't for me impose himself enough on games in open play , as I say ,someone Watsonesque would be fantastic not sure how Kane Ferdinand is getting on but he was of that ilk. Nothing controversial , nothing negative just discussing where further strengthening could help with promotion. So you can all pop your knickers back on. Thank you
Bill, without wishing to get sucked in to the back biting and general slagging off, surely the players who will/are doing our running from the midfield, and in my opinion doing a great job are d'ath and holmes. That leaves the central 2 to do the tidying up and extra defensive duties when required. I agree we could do with another defensive midfielder as cover, but as an attacking midfielders both carter and hornby IMO are sufficient. I think the bigger requirement is a back up striker as i expect toney to go before feb 2nd.

I've been to The Saints a few times back in the day, normally the Edgar Mobbs matches and the odd game as a drinkathon. I've got to admit after watching the Saracens v Saints final last year and the recent Leicester game on tv it's getting hard to stick to lower league football when they can hardly string three passes together, let alone build a stand. It seems as if The Saints are becoming the Arsenal of the rugby world. My loyalties to the Cobblers run deep but is anyone feeling the pull to the egg side?
NO! NO! and NO!

We were very lucky the season he got us to wembley and i think his team selection on the day proved what sort of manager he really was. I don't think i'll ever look back on his time and think 'yeah he wasn't too bad'.

Can anyone explain why the court case hasn't been reported on. I don't imagine (i'm not a legal eagle) there would be a reporting injunction on it. I stated on here 2 weeks ago that the case was due in court that week and that info was from the stadium manager.
