I love all the comparison clap trap, the simple fact of the matter is all of the grounds ABOVE us in the pyramid bar just a few, all have larger capacities and better matchday facilities. The few that don't have are planning for it. We are where we are.

What do the Sixfield apologists put that down to luck?

Be honest, Sixfields is division four nothing more. Having our own supporters content with such a piss poor stadium and not wishing for improvements is akin to wishing us lose. You should be fucking ashamed of yourselves defending the current stadium and not wishing for a larger, better equipped stadium actually able to entice further support and sponsorship.
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 16, 2018, 01:40:01 am
Genuine question... Do you have any examples of grounds that have this set up? I'm struggling to picture how it wont make our ground look more non league than it apparently does now

The only ground with terracing behind seating I have seen is Moss Rose, Macclesfield. Possibly the worst stand you could ever design. All other stands with mixed accommodation have seating above terracing which makes sense.

I admire Beds passion but thankfully his design ideas are total gash and wont happen.

Those young Lithuanian kids could become doctors just aswel as your friend in asia.. surely they have need for his osteopathic excellence themselves?
We have several hospital universities creating 1000s of brilliant doctors every year, its the manufacturer construction  and services industries we needed help for and thankfully those from eastern europe filled the gaps to allow our economy to survive.

You can pay for their education then just as my friend paid for his. Once they have fully qualified as doctors in Lithuania they're welcome. I've seen lots of your potential "doctors" and somehow I don't think they'll make it. Postcode entry into a country rather than on merit.

On the plus side you can build stadiums from thin air so building a new city every year to cope will be childs play.

Absolutely Mr Watch!

Ahem, a swift turnaround and back on topic...

It should be The Carlsberg or Barclaycard Stadium of Northampton, proudly visible from the M1. Holding 25,000 spectators with exceptional hospitality, corporate and entertainment facilities. Hosting a range of sports and events including first class Rugby Union, second class football, community projects, concerts and possibly an annual re-run of "It's a knockout" (The original hosts may have to be replaced) between Althorp House and any other royally connected household that wants to comically wear huge suits and fall over frequently. A true stadium to all be proud of.

Instead we have a piss poor effort named after womens troubles.

Welcome to Northampton...

Last time I was back in Blighty there seemed to be a chronic lack of hand car washes. I drove for at least ten minutes yet could only find a dozen or so, yet a close friend of mine here in Asia who is now a fully qualified Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine was refused a visa to enter the UK.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me to allow half a million street urchins from Lithuania or wherever unfettered access to the UK while keeping out the doctors. It's the economy stupid.

Euromillions ticket tonight then I’ll step in.

The very best of luck Zen. (my new bestest pal ever)

Uninspiring sponsors for a pathetic "stadium" (although that is stretching the term to it's absolute limit.)

About what you would expect, sell what you have for what you can get. Could easily have been the Duston village hall stadium if they had promised a tenner. If only they knew!
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC FOR SALE on: May 24, 2018, 15:16:06 pm
Warming up nicely isn't it!

At least we have some close season entertainment.

Can't we just swap with the cricket club? Always thought Sixfields would've been more suitable for cricket. Might have even got some one day
internationals being close to the M1.

Knock the fucking abortion down and get out the Qualcast.

9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC FOR SALE on: May 24, 2018, 04:30:51 am
Oh joy, groundhog day again. Round and round and round and round it goes, where it stops no one knows!

One thing is absolutely sure. The whole town centre and surrounding areas, retail, transport and housing, despite the huge opportunities given our home towns location has been mismanaged to a staggering degree of incompetence for decades now. All you who still live and work in Northampton everyday will possibly not see it so clearly but my god if like me you have spent over a decade or more away then return it's quite shocking. Sixfields and the surrounding area emphasises this quite clearly. It's a pleasure to live and work 6000 miles away from it all.

The stalemate will not be broken, too many individuals trying to pick each others pockets. Zero transparency, and buffoons (maybe baboons?) on local planning. Everybody connected to or supporting the club, with the exception of neveright, eventually could see DC for what he was but still 10m smackeroons were handed over to him with less diligence than planning a kids party. I suspect the loan agreement was written in crayon.

I honestly believe I understand the secret of contentment.

Fuck me, it doesn't stop. Now your the Dalai Lama.

For the rest of you, not so fortunate to have found the spiritual level of happiness the pussy licker enjoys, here's a message from his Holiness himself Nigel.

11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Budgets on: May 16, 2018, 01:53:29 am
I will always have a more relaxed perspective about the whole thing than you, and probably several others. For me this is a recreational pursuit, watching a game I love, played out by half decent players. I watch it at NTFC because they are my favourite team. I sometimes wonder why, but hey ho.  Grin Just like you and many others, I would like to see us push on and develop the ground and rise to a significantly higher level of football. That's where my agenda stops.

For you and a few others, it appears to have elevated to a whole new dimension. Where you seem to think that supporting a team, or paying a few quid to watch them, entitles you to an absolute say on what should and shouldn't happen. Social media has created an army of armchair accountants, planners, statisticians, constructors, all sorts. It has given them a platform to tout themselves as an expert on all manner of things. All of this without investing a penny, or producing a bead of sweat to achieve their self appointed status. You have talked yourself into believing that your made up version of the world is actually real. Then you are buoyed up by the mere fact that you can get a few other deluded fools to concur with you.

I absolutely agree that KT is not going to risk further significant investment until he can see a clear return on it. I also absolutely believe that he grossly underestimated the challenge he was taking on. But, I will not buy into anything more than he might have got some things wrong. I'd imagine he has gone silent for one reason. He would only have to spend five minutes on here, to see how the few things he has said, are perpetually regurgitated, twisted and shoved back down his throat at every given opportunity. He may of made some mistakes. But it would be a wise man who never gave a few of you information to play with.

You must work very hard to be such a condescending know it all, it would be impossible for anyone to achieve it naturally. It's certainly not recreational.

Social media has obviously created a position for you as well. How lucky you are to have achieved so much more in life than every one of the 4-5000 that regularly attend. I doubt there is a single accountant or developer amongst them.

I'm not far from Bangkok if that helps?

If anyone fancies dropping in for a pre match beer, you're more than welcome.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 09, 2018, 13:54:16 pm
They have also stated that they don't want to be lumbered with a ground that would be too big and too expensive if they were to drop from the Premier league.

Could you supply this quote from the club please?

They do not wish to develop a ground they do not own but wish to have their own stadium by 2021 in the meantime they will expand as much as they possibly can under current restrictions.

Answer the question, why has every club currently above us in the pyramid bar three chosen to invest in better equipped and larger in capacity stadia?

Again total horseshit from children in bedrooms.

14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 09, 2018, 02:50:36 am

I just quoted you MK Dongs. So they are a successful football club with a better ground than we could hope for...and they’re doing really well, are they? Up to the Championship,  then down to L1 and probably L2 this season. Hopefully we won’t go with them! Football is a game, with clubs that have become  busineesses with ideals beyond their means. Would I rather watch a football match at Sixfields with a 75% full ground or at MK  with 66% empty ground. I prefer a sustainable Sixfields model, thank you! 🤔😊

Incredible. I stood inside The Royal Courts of Justice just a few years ago witnessing a potential winding up order against the club, if you think NTFC or Sixfields is some shining light of sustainability then you are clearly wrong and a little deluded.

You can only give a couple of examples of clubs with larger stadiums below us in the league pyramid, I will give you 64 examples of clubs above us with larger or better equipped grounds that have not visited the RCJ recently.

Please give us the answer why, luck?

15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: March 16, 2018, 03:26:31 am
There is a small clique of anti-development on here, I don't know why but they seem to wish for their club to stagnate and die and find every argument they can find in their own heads. The same individuals who post the same points over and over again, "it wont work," it's too expensive," who pay's" "look at Darlington" we only get less than capacity ???etc, short sighted arguments ad infinitum.

Please do Tell KT he's wasting his time and effort, Sixfields in fine as it is. Also if rebuilding, expanding or any type of progress is pointless do tell all the other clubs such as Brentford, Plymouth, you can tell Rotherham on Satdee (who want to expand again) that they are also fools and are potentially wasting money. They will be relieved.

Maybe Rotherham will reconsider, see the error of their ways when they take a look again at the amazing and futuristic Sixfields which is obviously years ahead of any other clubs plans as it's perfect and caters for all the clubs future needs.

There are some very stupid developers out there.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pish Tickets Easter Monday on: March 15, 2018, 14:04:31 pm
so you want me to research numbers on a point that i wasnt even making but you are happy to let Beds' get away with 2414 x 26 =78k? Says it all really...

Nobody disagrees with the principle of what Beds' is saying. When he puts forward his pie in the sky costings about how it is achievable and yet cannot evidence anything and is incapable of a simple math equation, then people question him. Seems fair to me.

But you did make the point by arguing Beds' lets see yours. If you didn't want to have the conversation why did you call him out?

The point was wholly relative to the fact when we visit we shall take a similar amount of support to which they would expect in the Championship regularly if the cunts get there. Sadly Sixfields cannot reap the same rewards, that point seems fair to me and extremely valid.

There maybe a few bigger stadiums below us but most of the large stadia are way above us. Calculate why.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pish Tickets Easter Monday on: March 15, 2018, 06:55:57 am
yeah, might be over 100k. we can all make up numbers...

Beds is simply highlighting that Sixfields loses money by not being able to accommodate more away fans, you don't need to get your knickers in such a twist as he's absolutely right. Maybe that's why you are?

He also highlights that Pish do have ambition as they've clearly alluded to in the media recently and being able to accommodate 2500-3000 away fans in the Championship would help in the costs of competing in the division should you be there.

Only 4 or 5 teams in the Championship currently average away support that Sixfields could realistically hold. With several teams close to averaging 3000 regular away fans we would indeed be potentially missing out on significant sums. Why don't you look into the figure and post an amount so we can pull it apart?  All the fact's are there but you may have to pick a figure out of thin air because I doubt you could predict exactly how many corporate guests, how many beers, hot dogs or extra programmes may be sold to those extra supporters.

He's saying they are better set up for a level of success higher than ours. He's very sadly again correct.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: March 12, 2018, 01:51:44 am
I would question the comparison for those of us that have played park football and perhaps coached some kids along the way with someone like JFH who has lived and breathed football since he was a kid. He's played to the very highest level and passed all the coaching badges, and they are a pretty tough.
It must be galling for him to hear butchers, bakers and candlestick makers that watch Match of the Day and go to games every week or so telling him he's tactically naive.

Absolutely spot on. The "experience" Terry alludes to I find a little odd. After 35 years of working on large scale commercial developments I wouldn't say my knowledge was in football, similarly to many supporters, their "experience" lies away from football. Neither would I admit to being involved with any planning decisions made within the County considering their propensity to make some of the most ridiculous and short sighted decisions. The examples are numerous. Sixfields included.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch on: March 08, 2018, 06:33:42 am
Exciting isn't it?

None of us step aboard the Northampton Town FC roller coaster for an easy ride. This is the end to our season....

Gather round boys... Shocked Shocked Shocked

We all know why it was a special day.  Wink

20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Rallying Cry on: March 05, 2018, 15:10:23 pm
Spot on,

As fans we need to realise there will be no new manager , and no new players. We are in a relegation battle and need to back this team no matter what.

Sixfields needs to be a fortress not a.self fulfilling prophecy of doom!

Bang on.

Siege mentality from now on. As fans all you can do is create an intimidating atmosphere, do it. Just like the Rovers play off game, every game.
