What are the latest accounts for the club?

It would be a good start to know how much the club is leaking, and by how much Kt's crew are propping it up.

You never know, mortgaging Hamsters house might just cover the first year, then your off!

Some of you clever business pros here could easily raise heaps of cash for the club, if owned by you!

Your club needs You

The game was shite, from the start, to exceptionally shite at the finish.

Lucky it's so cheap to watch.

Apart from a 10 min spell around the hour mark, that was utter gash. Forth Division all day long.

Hiding in the corners for the last 20 mins against 10 very average players who still managed 60% possession. Tells it all.

I hope the beer and pies made it worth going.

Ah the old balancing the books

Just like old times.

No east stand

Div 2 football

Chairman wanting to sell

#sameoldsameold
#dejavu

Not quite, the old times were slightly better!

Pre '85 when the main stand in Abington Avenue had seats and the CG had 17,500 capacity, it was actually fun to go to a home game...

Yeah, the rest is the same shit and has been for decades. Sometimes I wish I could shake off this terrible affliction and improve my Sunday morning mood. I tried moving to the other side of the world but alas it still hurts, only class A drugs and lots of alcohol seem to ease the pain, luckily here both are plentiful and inexpensive.

I'm sure if there was an internet forum when the FA Cup was first played some would've thought it pointless.

I'm not saying this competition is any good, however! As it stands it's not fair, the lower league clubs should be able to play whoever they want, not have it restricted as it is.

A "level playing field" boom, boom would be a lot fairer. An old fashioned B-Team type competition, no player from the previous first team game may play.

A bit more pride introduced might help it grow into a decent "League Cup" but for B-Teams,

People talk a good game on here. Seems nobody that shouts loud on here actually has the get up and go to do anything about it. Shame.

Jellyby, there's three groups. Those that don't care what goes on and wanna just turn up and watch football. Those that care but realise there probably isn't a huge amount they can do. Those with some crazy ideas and suggestions, (and some good ones tbf) but never actually do anything. Last two groups aren't that far off each other in both wanting better.

I honestly don't for the life of me know why those that spout so much on here about moving the club forward don't get together and start the wheels moving, nothing stopping them. Nothing. Their hearts are in the right place, some of them are trolling at times of course but not always. It's easy to castigate people with different views, hell I do it regularly! The one thing we should all remember is we all support the same team and generally everyone wants progress.

My real hope is that those that talk so passionately on here actually do something.

Hear hear. There are some right sanctimonious know it all's on here always talking down to others for having an opinion, maybe it's time for less typing and more action!

One thing is evident, thanks to Cardoza the club is worthless, nobody with any ambitions of a decent club will come near us with the complications, Sixfields is frankly pathetic.

The only way forward will be for some individual or a group, trust of some kind with real local connections and a pride in the area to pull it together again. Whatever some may think, local businesses, large and small will be more likely to support, sponsor or help in some way if the club is not being run by out of town shysters looking only to pull the arse out of the club and it's community.

DC's plan was so evident to those who have seen it before in business, plough some cash in and talk big, buy the minds of simpletons, you know who you are, wait until the right moment, raise cash on it if you can then sell it all off every last asset, run to the hills and repeat with the next business.

Until this circle is broken the club is fucked. So those here who like to talk down to the others, you had better grow some and walk the walk. Just as KT hasn't the cash, you can find those that have, now get on with it.

Hamster must be first in the queue.

Canít make this Saturday as working in the morning, as itís an international break , does that mean I can watch it live on I follow?

You can watch it at mine if you like, although Exeter is a lot closer.

My far superior expertise and inside knowledge of the game tells me that should we get a positive result today, we will be having fun at the right end of the table come the end of the season.

If we lose we're shit.

That's just fucking lazy Evers. You cant purport to be the cunning linguist you are and use millennial youth text speak when replying, especially when in gratitude.

Do you give a wk?
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: November 10, 2018, 05:59:18 am
Just for perspective, if the club had been taken over after Stonhill by a forward looking owner rather than DC.

An £8m stand, 3500 seats and all the necessary match day and non-match day bars, hospitality and so forth, funded by way of an interest only development loan, from a bank, the stand would now have been long paid for. In fact just 600 extra on our average attendance over the last 20 years would've paid for such a development.

This is just league games only. If you factor in all the revenue from cup games, corporate, matchday and non matchday revenue it probably could have been repaid in 10 years or less. Without affecting playing budget, in fact if such a development had taken place, greater revenue would have been available over the years for players and who knows that may have made a difference.

For all those who have dismissed development as an option om here, you're quite simply wrong. Wilder left for many reasons and the NTFC groundhog day was one of them. If you don't move and grow you die, or simply cling on, just as we do today.

As Lincoln are up next just worth taking a look at their own stadium issues.

If we conveniently sideline our legal issues for a moment, some of the debate Lincoln are now having has been echoed on here many times. There are similarities regarding size of club and you could liken their present up-curve with some of our recent periods. Whether they maintain it as we have failed many times, we shall see.

There's lots of heated debate on here regarding finance and capacity, sadly most of it debated naively or negatively. So it's worth taking a brief read into some of their coverage,

Last 9pm KO for a while here, you will all be in the dark again from Sunday night!

Live screening on the beach, BBQ, ice cold beers and a few other delicacies available, ahem. It's a full moon so the beach will be perfect and a comfy 28 degrees.

Being joined by one Leeds fan, one from Torquay, one Brighton and a few Prem glory hunters. Hurry while deck chairs last!

I was reluctant in signing up for a whole season until I had heard decent enough reports, but now they offer the pay per game I decided to cough up the tiny sum of 210THB and give it a whirl.

Perfect HD quality and sound on a tiny little island in SE Asia. Very impressed considering our options here for tuning in before were so limited.

Much better watching on the beach with a cold beer than actually staining myself by setting foot in Franchise land.

Cheers!

If I thought it would enhance our chances, Iíd sleep with him.

Best you offer the Missus first, an indecent proposal if you like. That's unless it's Patmore.

Time to stand up and walk out...

Let KT, the council and all the other bastards before them fight over the land. They can flatten Shitfields and be gone with the whole embarrassment.

Get some jumpers for goal posts and start again Wimbledon style. At least all the people around would be genuine and probably have a smile on their face again.

Get a few leagues up the pyramid again and share Franklins. Fuck em all I say.

"Exiled, I think your memory is selective about the County Ground.  It was an awful dump and had only 3 sides.  Remember the Meccano Stand?  Much loved my ........  The final years at the CG were desperate with gates averaging around 2,000 and were dropping yera after year to the point where we were more likely than not to disappear as an EFL club."

Nothing selective Vintage, my memory serves me well, I was talking about the CG specifically before the Popplewell Report in the early eighties. No Meccano stand and when the seats were in use.
At that time the CG although 3 sided, in comparison to other grounds wasn't so bad. Many grounds were banks of terracing even some grass or cinder banks, do remember Gresty road at that time, or Springfield Park!

The CG as others mention was allowed to fall apart, in fact it wasn't so expensive to fix the issues with the main stand but Derek Banks decided to whip off the roof to try and push the matter with Brackmills.

My point is that by today's standard, Sixfields hinders the clubs progression just as much as the County Ground back in 1981.

We've gone nowhere.

18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: August 26, 2018, 12:04:58 pm
EiS -I donít think many if any of the  argumentative sh!ts disagree - personally I was horrified at an initial plan of just 4500 (West stand the same as the old East one).

The reality is that Sixfields is poor stadium....

Agree, but I've never criticised KT!

I was simply pointing out that in 30 odd years the club has not progressed at all. Despite perfect opportunities to capitalise on surges of support, ie Wembley visits etc again the stadium has held us back as before. Some here argue we don't need anything better but the fact 96% of stadiums in the top 3 divisions are both greater in capacity and better equipped for sponsorship and matchday hospitality tells it all. We've just continued to have chancers, beggars and thieves as owners as that's all we'll get until something drastic happens and that all hinges with the stadium and land, not what team enters the park.

Before Bradford, the CG was a lot more entertaining to go and watch football than Sixfields has ever been. We've gone nowhere!

In all it's splendour....

I have to ask this. Did you voice your disdain publicly for Sixfields when we moved in back in 94' or did you as I would think all of us see it as an enormous step up from the County Ground?

No. Personally I was hugely disappointed watching Sixfields being built, I kept asking myself when the second tier was going on, then realised that's all we were getting, I hoped it was only a temporary stop gap, but sadly no.

I'll say this again, there are only 4 out of 68 (5.9%) stadiums in the leagues above us that are less well equipped, that tells the true story whatever the annoying argumentative shits on here post. Someone trying to defend the indefensible even posted improving the stadium might put the club at risk! Can you believe that? We've been skint and in court more times than most clubs, hardly a model of sufficiency to other clubs.

When I started going in '81 we were in the lower reaches of Division 4 with a dilapidated but much loved 17,500 capacity ground.

What has happened in 36 years?
